Good food. They make the best falafel in Downtown Boston. Customer service is not the best. Been there several times and I’m not very pleased with how they treat customers.

Walked in one night with a huge craving for falafel. Unfortunately I couldn’t even place an order nor stay in the stop past 30 seconds because the body odor smell that filled the restaurant was disturbing. Unfortunately, employee hygiene is something that should probably be addressed here as it overshadows the food.

Good but overrated. Falafel 10⁄10(recommendation: please serve it hot) Hummus 10⁄10 Salad 7⁄10 not fresh Rice 8⁄10 nothing special Chicken kebab 6⁄10. Dry. Pre prepared Shawarma 6⁄10 cut and kept in a bowl. It has to be on a special shawarma skewer, rotating and exposed to the flame. Otherwise it is not called shawarma Overall 3 stars

Good place for falafel. This place is always busy which is a good sign.

This is my go-to lunch place while at work. Its totally packed during lunch hours but the service is usually quick. Having tried most of the Mediterranean and Greek places around the Downtown area, I would say this place has the best falafel, both in terms of taste and consistently keeping it good. The falafel and chicken wraps are good and I personally feel they serve the perfect lunch portions. The plates are usually huge in portions. One thing I personally would avoid are the pickles, I found them not-so-crisp and less appealing when compared to other items served.

This place is past it glory days. There was a time when this food had flavor, the portions were generous, and the prices reasonable. I stopped going there a few months ago after a mini gripe about my colleague and I getting the EXACT same plate. She however got 2 falafels and one to sample. I, on the other hand, got one in hand and one with my plate. When I called them out on it, their excuse was that«She got a different item». It was not worth my time or effort to continue the discussion over ONE falafel so I decided to take a break from visiting these«sexist servers». Fast forward three months, and I decided to let bygones be bygones and go with the lamb kebab plate. (See pic.) What a got was a pathetic assortment of(light) greens and cucumbers, a pile of hummus, ONE falafel, and six tiny pieces of meat on a big bed of yellow rice. The cost: $ 10 and change. Definitely not coming here EVER again! To those who think the first falafel is free… think again. Unless you eat that falafel and decide to LEAVE(not a bad idea ;-), the cost of your meal includes that«free» sample!

3.5 stars. Yes, I think this place is overrated. I’ve had great Middle Eastern food in Boston, so my expectations are high! I tried the meat platter, which came to about $ 10 with tax(no drink included). The beef was really dry and tasteless. The chicken had more of a kick to it, but all in all, I found the meat to be extremely dry(I know Middle Eastern meat is usually rather dry, but this was overkill!). The rice was a bit subpar(a bit too chewy). I guess the highlight of my meal was the falafel. I recommend getting that over the meat! Crispy and fresh. They are very generous with the portions! Staff is friendly and quick too. I’ll be back to get some falafel wraps.

You can’t put hummus in falafel and call yourself king !! Falafel comes with sesame sauce/tahini !!

A small place in downtown, but they are very tasty. They offer free falfel to every customer. I love their swarma and kabab plates with rice.

Tried this place for the first time today, got the Chicken Kebab Wrap. Really good and full of flavor. The hummus is super yummy and I love the cucumbers in the wrap as well. The little falafel sample with hummus they give you while you are waiting was a nice little surprise. I was super hungry so getting that helped curb me until I could dig into my wrap at the office. A lot of the other food options looked great as well. I will be back!

Great place for lunch! I get the falafel roll-up and it was amazing! The service is no non sense and very fast! They even give you a falafel to taste while you wait. Great fast lunch to-go in the downtown area.

Wraps aren’t the best, but the vegetarian or chicken plates are AMAZING! One plate definitely feeds two, and they give you a falafel to eat while waiting in line! So yummy and super quick also!

I have the Kafta Shish Kabob roll-up every time and it’s always amazing– and cheap! My best option when I am in the downtown area.

Delicious simple Mediterranean lunches and dinners in a clean well-lighted place! The fellow who works behind the counter is friendly and generous. Cashier could be a little less grouchy, but I come at the end of the day, so perhaps I’ve been catching her exhausted. This place is also probably good for vegans and folks trying to stay gluten-free. Not because it’s a fancy hipster place, but because the dishes are simple and uncomplicated.

Big portions, good price equals great value! Ordered Chicken Kabob with a side order of freshly made Falafel & Hummus. Salad, Tabouli and Hummus incl on the plate along with Chicken Kabob. Including a bottle of Coke it was less than $ 14. Great tasting Salad with a mix of dressing and hot sauce.

Yes, I was a Falafel King newbie. I knew they gave their customers a falafel to eat as they waited in line, but that’s basically it. Two men were handling orders the time of my lunch visit. The fellow further in the line, closer to the door, waved me over, so I told him my order, he handed me a falafel, and worked on putting together my dish. I got the chicken kebab plate(with rice and salad) $ 8.50. There was one falafel tucked in with the single de-skewered line of meat, humus, salad, and rice. Was I gyped with just the one falafel? Some of the photos on Unilocal show two… The falafel was nice, with a good crispy crust. The cucumber fresh and crisp, though a bit sour. The humus had too much lemon. The rice was good. The chicken tender. The pita bread which accompanied it was a bit small a portion.

I’ve never had them at lunch time but usually after work, so I do not have the same experience waiting in line as the other reviewers. In my experience they have moved quickly because they’re always cooking and churning out food. It’s a no frills place. Don’t expect 5 star service. But that’s not what their model is. The food is fresh and good. They are not overpriced unlike some places that use being downtown as an excuse to over charge. You can always count on one of the guys to let you have a falafel. They’re big, moist and perfectly seasoned. I’ve had bad experiences with tiny and dry falafels. The lady at the register acts like a distant cousin of the soup nazi. She scares me a little and I just want to give her my money and run.

Complimentary piece of falafel while they make your order! Straight up and delicious. No frills. Great quality lamb every time I get their lamb. Friendly service. Hands down the best falafel joint in Boston!

This place has a system. They’re quick! It’s not a glamorous interior but if you’re picking up lunch it’s great. I like it because it seems like less of a chain. More independently owned. Here’s a perk: they give you a piece of falafel as you’re waiting! Only thing I found is that the tomatoes tasted kind of weird.

I love that they give you a falafel while you wait in line! That is A+ customer service right there. This was my second time here. The first time, I got the falafel wrap and was thoroughly impressed! Would have probably given 5 stars if I was writing reviews at the time. I remember it was filling and the falafel was delicious. This time, I decided to try the babaghanoush salad plate, and it was… decent. The plate that I got was quite empty. I don’t think it would hurt them to add more salad or babaghanoush to make it seem like I am getting a full order. Also, I am pretty sure I read«eggplant» in the menu description, but there was no eggplant in the order. Moral of the story: I will stick to their wraps from now on. The seating area is small, but clean. During the lunch rush, you might struggle to find a seat. Most people order to go, though, so odds are that seats will be available. I arrived at 12:30PM, and there were about 2 – 3 tables free.
