Worst customer service experience I ever had. Zipper in a dress broke next day after purchase, brought it back next day, July 10th, was promised 5 days to get a new dress. 14 days later– the dress is still not received. Order was never placed due to inventory. I work in customer service myself and wod have been embarrassed to provide such service. Very disappointed, and the store lost a loyal customer.

Elie Tahari is a glass of lemon water on a summer day. Every garment is exquisitely beautiful and constructed from the very best materials. Coming here is as much a tactile as a visual experience: the cashmere will make you sigh. These clothes are elegant and brainy, with subtle geometric play that is serene and brilliant at the same time. Sales staff are helpful but laid-back and didn’t seem to mind the boyfriend and I goofing with the belts; it’s a comfortable atmosphere in which the clothes are given the setting they deserve and allowed to speak for themselves. The men’s shirts seem to be cut unusually long and the women’s zeroes are big(I swear we are not a couple of pygmies!) but I found a sweater that looks and feels like spun cream… and I know the Elie dress in my closet will look just as lovely on me when I’m 70 as it does now.

I never really bought into that theory that you should invest in/spend more on timeless pieces of clothing and as a result they will last as long as you need them to. But a visit to Elie Tahari changed my mind. Everything was exquisite to the touch and felt so much more substantial than something you would find at say… the Gap. I couldn’t afford to buy anything because this is an expensive store. Maybe someday. Definitely worth a visit to do some window shopping and if you can afford to buy something you will come away with a garment that will probably last a long time.

I’m in love with Elie Tahari and I’ve never even met him. The store is gorgeous. With high ceilings, elegant layout and complimentary lighting, the clothes are really put on show for the pieces of art that they are. Racks with one divine garment after another line the walls. Two dark wood cases are placed to act as storage, as well as put signature pieces behind glass. This is one of very few locations in the US, so we should feel privileged for being graced with his presence. The staff is nothing but welcoming, gracious and helpful. The details and design of the store are as meticulous and intentional as the details on the clothing. I’m left in awe of both each time I come in. I drool, I cry. I even have the occasional clothesgasm. Fashionistas beware — if you’re not familiar with this man, become so. The clothes have been described as «sophisticated but youthful.» I couldn’t have said it better myself. The clothes are expensive, though rightfully so. Unfortunately I can’t fill my closets with Elie’s(yes, we’re on a first name basis. we’re bff like that) designs just yet. However, the clothes really are stunning enough to make me want to do morally questionable things in order to be able to do so.
