I am the 1st to admit that in my almost twenty years in the the grand city of Boston the region known as East Boston was quite alien to me. Even now that I have made Eastie my home for a few months my friends still are bewildered on where I live exactly & how does one get there. Besides the occasional trip to Logan Airport, which is actually in East Boston, I could count on one hand how many times the took the trek under the harbor on the Blue Line to this incredibly rich part of the city. After almost a decade in Dorchester I was priced out & amazed how many resources were available in my new neighborhood. The charm here comes from an abundance of small family owned shops from some of the best pizza in Boston to an incredible array of Latin American delights plus many more that are too much to list in one review. Every day I find out that some of the best custom made skis are handcrafted right here. When the temperatures start getting warmer the trek to Piers Park is well worth the visit alone. One of, if not the best view of the city available. The diversity of the people amaze me also. If you are looking for a rich unique experience right in your backyard, all you need to do is jump on the Blue Line & explore. I think you will be amazed.
