Okelly Dunkley is fantastic and a GREAT teacher! I have a Nikon D90 and had no idea of the power of my camera until I took his course. It was a 3 hour class that flew by and I can’t wait to take some of his on-line courses down the road. His workshops are WELLWORTH the $$. Just make sure you practise what he teaches you or you’ll lose it.

Great class. It would have been worth the $ 100 but I’m not sure I would want to pay that(I got a living social deal). That said, it is worth $ 100 as Okello is willing to answer all questions(both in the large group and one-on-one). He explains things fairly well – it’s one of those things were it’s so much information at once that is is hard to process and he moves through it quickly but at least you are not wasting time. There is no massive sales pitch or attempt to make you buy a bunch of stuff. In the end, I left excited to try new things but not sure if I am ready to make photography an hobby(which is what he is really talking about). His online classes look great if you couldn’t get in for a one-on one seminar. I saw him at the Lenox hotel but I’m sure the venue does not matter in the presentation.

I have a Canon t2i, and had tried venturing off program mode with minimal success. This class has helped make sense of how each setting works, and how to manipulate the settings to get much better results than with the program mode. I plan on taking every class he offers in the boston area.

Great class. Have a Nikon D5000 but still hadn’t ventured off the preset program modes(granted I could change them between portrait, landscape, night-time, etc), and haven’t had the time/patience to do a self study. Okello was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and a great teacher. He narrowed down the important need-to-know elements into step by step exercises so that it wasn’t overwhelming. I will definitely be attending his next class!

Attended the class on 8÷27÷11 in Boston in the Radisson Hotel. Being a beginner DSLR owner with a Nikkon D3000, this was a great class to attend. Learned all about aperture, ISO, and shutter speed and how to manipulate each one to get the best shot. The agenda/layout of the class was also highly professional in that Okello has two large screens setup, 1 as a powerpoint presentation type slideshow that helps him explain his points, and a second which is directly linked to his cameras so we can see what exactly he is doing on his camera’s real-time. You take many pictures during the actual class and can see how the different settings affect your shot. Highly recommend this course for a beginner DSLR owner.
