I’ve been here a handful of times — during their soft opening, for dinner, and most recently, for their boozy brunch — and I can honestly say I’ve never left feeling unsatisfied. It seems like their menu is forever expanding and improving. There’s always something new to try each time I come here. The food is delicious and everything is so creative, which is a huge plus when you’re an Asian restaurant trying to stand out among others in the heart of Chinatown. The Hawaiian Fried Rice, Beef Tomato ‘n Egg Rice, Cola Wings, and recent addition Matcha Pancakes are some of my favorites! To speak even further on their creativity, they recently introduced a Bloody Mary drink that includes bacon, a whole soft shell crab(INSANE!), and scallion pancake. I could’ve ordered this alone and have it be my meal. If you’re a fan of Bloody Mary’s, you’ll love this one — it has a nice tomato base that isn’t watery, you can taste the vodka but not overpowering, and the spiciness is just right. And to top it all off, everything is so affordable! Our party of 6+ had 4 hungry boys so we ordered everything on the menu and the bill was so cheap. if you’re looking for a fun, social place with mouth watering menu, this is the one. I recommend you check out Double Chin TODAY.

This place is in the middle of Chinatown. As anyone would know, there is no readily available parking spots and this place appeals to foot traffic more so than it does people who drive there.(Not throwing shade, just describing the place.) We are greeted by a polite and pretty woman who engaged in friendly banter for a few minutes as we were seated and read the menu. We ended up getting the«Watermelon Bomber»(Watermelon Lychee Soju [$ 25, serves 2 – 4.]) it is a lot more spiked than I thought it would be, but then again that could be up to the person who preps the drink. Then, we ordered a Piña Grenade(Strawberry Piña Colada [$ 15]) which was WAY better than the Watermelon Bomber. It was more like a smoothie vs the bomber which was watery. We were approached by the waitress/hostess/(boss?) Who asked us if we wante to try a Green Tea Horchata blend. ITWASAWESOME! Overall, good drink. Good service. We will be returning soon.

Love this new restaurant in Chinatown! I’ve been meaning to try it for a while now, and I’m so glad I finally got to today. As many others have mentioned, their décor is on point — beautiful pastel walls and a bench inside for some fun pictures. They started their boozy brunch menu today, so definitely check it out! Brunch is served from 11am-3pm on weekends. My friend and I decided to share the following: crispy pork belly taro skillet, breakfast musubi(spam, egg, BBQ aioli with two hash browns), the green tea pancakes, and the watermelon soju. They were all delicious. The crispy pork belly taro skillet was great for sharing. The flavors were savory and reminded me of my childhood. The breakfast musubi was a nice twist on the typical spam musubi, using hash browns instead of rice. I would definitely get this again but wish that there was more sauce in it. The green tea pancakes as a dessert were excellent because they weren’t overly sweet. The pancakes had sesame sauce layered in the stack and also came with a scoop of green tea ice cream and chocolate rice krispies(?) for extra texture. The watermelon soju was super tasty and refreshing. I like that they give you the straws to drink out of the watermelon itself instead of unnecessarily using cups. Props for being eco-friendly. The menu said it was for 3+, but my friend and I finished it no problem. I loved the watermelon and lychee combination! Our servers were also really attentive. You can tell that everyone who works here genuinely wants to satisfy their customers, so they’re really open to hearing your feedback and opinions. I can’t wait to come back to try the rest of their menu!

Nice place for drinks and afternoon snack. Best Hong Kong milk tea and egg waffle snacks I’ve had in Boston. Green tea ice cream with chocolate dessert drink was unique and pretty good. The cups were unique and the place was very roomy compared to all the other places nearby. However, there was a weird smell when I was there. Hopefully it’s not like that all the time.

My brother and I tried Double Chin based on an article he read online. We each ordered the HK milk tea, one pork chop tomato rice to share, French toast and also a spam and taro fries. The milk tea was hot, and flavorful. It was just the right about of sweetness. The pork chop rice was big enough to share. There were three slices of pork. It was very cheesey and satisfying. The spam /taro fries were a bit of a let down. They were not just thin, but over-cooked and cold. The French toast had peanut butter/jelly. It wasn’t hot enough. The weirdest thing? the color of their walls as others have pointed out. I dk why they would go with a childish theme. Also the swing takes up way too much space. Two school-aged kids were swinging from it the day I was there, their mothers couldn’t care any less.

FOOD: My family shared the Hawaiian/spam fried rice and the matcha Ma call it toast cube. The fried rice was good(it is probably near impossible to mess this up), except there was tomato sauce in it randomly. It may have been residue from the pan(?!?). Yuck. The toast cube is beautiful and I loved that it loaded up on the fruits, but the toast tasted too eggy. I reached a honey toast high from Shokudo in Hawaii and haven’t been able to locate the same high since. Overall, the food didn’t thrill me, but I would come back to try different items on their expansive menu. Let’s hope i don’t find random sauces on future meals or I would definitely never come back again. SERVICE: We were seated immediately. Our water and food came out quickly. No complaints here. DECOR: The place feels clean. I also like that there are board games here. My toddler was distracted by a cheaper version of the jenga(don’t recall the name) so my husband and I could actually have a meal. There is also a whimsical bench here that adds character to this café.

I kid you not, I lost track of how many times I came here! I once came 2 days in a row! The cube toast is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. It’s just enough to feed 3 – 4 people. If you and your friend’s goal is to enjoy food AND order the cube toast, good luck because your stomach won’t be big enough! There’s crazy amount of carbs in the thing! I really love the food too! I love the soy pan fried noodles and the dry beef chow foon. The price is average and affordable for anyone. One time I ordered the cube toast and I was told there was no green tea ice cream. The waitress said she can replace with another flavor instead(we then chose chocolate.) When it came out we got vanilla instead. Not that it ruined our meal or anything but we would’ve preferred chocolate. But Double Chin is always a place I’m down to go to! Love love love this place.

Solid Hong Kong style entrée options. Ever since Lulu restaurant closed in Chinatown, Double Chin has been our new staple for Hong Kong cuisine. Rec’s: ++Tomato pork chop rice ++Portuguese pork spaghetti Both have lasagna like-cheese on either a bed of rice or spaghetti. While the combo may sound strange, when paired with pork it’s fantastic. All of Double Chin’s entrees are generous portion wise, 1 dish is enough for 2. ++Scrambled egg n’ beef rice– it’s a must for egg fans. The cornstarch like sauce the scrambled egg is mixed in gives the impression you’re eating runny half cooked eggs with every bite. ++Cola wings: Addicting. Adds a nice sweet taste to their tender, hot wings. Rarely available though, we’ve only been able to order it once out of multiple times we’ve been here. Staff are young, hip, and friendly.

This place should be embarrassed. I ordered their sweet and sour chicken today, but that’s not what I ate. I ate straight up sweet and sour breading. I had to double check that I actually ordered chicken before I wrote this review because I don’t think I had a single piece of chicken in my meal. And yes. That picture is not photoshopped. Their sauce is actually bright pink. But I will give credit by saying their sauce didn’t really taste as artificial as it looks and the veggies were rather fresh, especially for Chinatown. I’ll give them a star for their atmosphere as it is rather clean and well-kept and the server was nice. But in terms of food… laughable at best. If you come here either leave or at least don’t order anything fried. Try something else. Unless you want to leave hangry. Like I did.

I went here with my parents and a friend after seeing a picture of some of their desserts online. After looking through the dessert options, we decided to go with the muddy madness. Was this dessert picture worthy? Yes. Was it something I will be going back for again? Probably not. As some other people have mentioned, the dessert is very toast heavy and lacks a lot of extra ingredients. I would love to have had a little less toast and another scoop of ice cream on top. Also, it looks like from previous photos, that there were more varieties of fruits with it, but we only had a couple of bananas, blueberries, and some canned peaches. Overall, the service here was friendly and attentive, but I felt like the dessert – while fun to look at – was a bit underwhelming flavor-wise.

I came the first time with some friends for savory food and the second one for their desserts. We ordered the Cola Wings, Portuguese Rice and Ramen. Overall, compared to the other restaurants in Chinatown, the food was pretty standard but a tad overpriced. Their cube toast – we got the Matcha ma callit, is absolutely incredible for $ 13. Significant better than the $ 7 cube toast from Café Bene. The warm toast with the cold ice cream is so delicious with fresh fruit, crunchy corn flakes and mochi(wasn’t chewy enough though). They’re also the only place as far as I’m aware of that serves warm Horlicks in Chinatown. The only other place would be Dong Khanh, but they’re usually out half the time :(( Anyways, Double Chin is the perfect place to come hang out with some friends and split dessert and have a few warm drinks– it’s more of a café than a sit down restaurant I’d say. If you want a quick bite or dessert, this is the place to go but if you want to have a full meal, I would walk around Chinatown and eat food anywhere else for bigger portions and a better price.

My friend had heard about this new place and so we decided to come here for a late bite & dessert. When you first walk in, I couldn’t help but notice the weird smell of the place(like animals or a farm?), which was a bit distracting. But from reading recent reviews, maybe it looks like this issue has been resolved — hopefully. Food: this place serves fun dishes that have a twist on traditional asian food. My friends and I ordered the curry fish balls and waffle kimchi fries, as well as beef chow fun. To be honest, I had higher expectations and was slightly disappointed. The dishes tasted like food at any other asian restaurant, but slightly pricier. Dessert: we ordered the Matcha Ma Call It, which we all devoured — I recommend this if you come to Double Chin! The bread was soft and had ice cream, pocky, sugar flake cereal, mochi bits along with other little toppings which made the dessert plate fun to eat. If I come back, it’s most likely for this plate.

Overpriced glorified Asian fast food exists here. I would say come here if you’re craving a quick snack or dessert. Otherwise, hit up another joint in the area for a real meal. The food here is on the greasier side, making for great hangover eats. But today was a day when I wasn’t drunk so the meal was a bit hard to take in. My mango smoothie was also made with artificial flavoring, which was super disappointing. On another note, the staff here is kind of off. The manager(at least I think that’s what the older bald gentleman is) is the only genuinely happy guy here. The other waitstaff members seem like they try their best to interact with the customers as least as possible. They also seem really really sad…

Despite hearing that the service was a little slow, orders came out wrong, or drinks weren’t consistent(they just opened! shall we cut them some slack?)…I had a great experience! I came here on a Sunday late noon with four other people. We were immediately seated and there were a good amount of people already there. We just ate phở(don’t judge) around the corner and decided to check out Double Chin for the popular menu item, «Mac» N Cheese($ 6), and some other desserts: Matcha Tres Leches Grass Jelly($ 5), Double Chin Ice Cream Sandwich($ 5), HK Style French Toast($ 6), Avocado Smoothie($ 4.50). Our food came out in less than 10minutes. The«Mac» N Cheese is truly unique and an interesting spin off of your traditional comfort food. It’s made with wide rice noodles, lots of cheese, bacon(everything with bacon just takes that much better), scallion, and panko. The panko is a nice touch! It was served in a cute shell shaped plate. The portion is huge for $ 6! Definitely worth getting. My friend who doesn’t like cheese actually enjoyed the dish and recommended it to me. That says a lot. I got the Match Tres Leches Grass Jelly drink and it was just as the name described: matcha milk, two heaping scoops of green tea ice cream, condensed milk, red bean and grass jelly. Great combo of ingredients. Double Chin Ice Cream Sandwich is made of crispy mantou buns with a choice of ice cream. We went with green tea. I didn’t get to try this but my friend really like the mantou. HK Style French Toast is made of peanut butter, topped with red bean and condensed milk. I’m not a big peanut butter fan but I was pleased with this dish. The peanut butter wasn’t overpowering and there was just enough red bean sweetness to balance out the PB and the right amount of condensed milk so it wasn’t soggy. $ 6 is not a bad price either! Avocado smoothie was a little watered down. Our server provided us the check when we were ready. Overall, I would recommend Double Chin. They’re open late and I think this place would be great with satisfying late night munchies. Cute décor and the menus are fun.

I went here several times since they started. The interior is bleek and is this awkward green color. The restaurant is oddly furnished with so much unused space in the middle of the restaurant. The music selection here is also off. I understand that people play fast paced music to get customers to eat faster so they can flip tables quicker and thats fine, but this selection of edm isn’t like club music that makes you want to dance its just unfitting of the mood in the restaurant. The food here is just meh and so bland. I went here and my friend got the Hawaiian fried rice and another had got this rice dish with some type of thick chicken curry looking sauce on it, I cant recall the name. The fries were just piled high but lacking of salt and any flavor of the kimchi or cheese and other toppings on the fries. The fries were just warm as if they were just microwaved up. The desserts are on the smaller side and are extremely sweet. My friend had gotten the fried baos with condensed milk and I got the herbal jelly dessert cup which was deceptionally overpriced for what was actually in my glass cup. Honestly, I would go here again but having heard from the employees about the rats that were roaming and killed in the kitchen. I am going to do my best to stay away from double chin and Bao Bao bakery altogether.

The photos all over Unilocal and Instagram convinced me to come in and try their dessert. We ordered the Matcha Ma Call It — my eyes popped out of my head when it came out. It’s MONSTROUS! I shared it with a friend but we didn’t finish — it’s best for 3 – 5 people. I was relieved it wasn’t too sweet, so it was enjoyable to eat. We had dinner elsewhere so our main goal was to try the cube toast. We also tried their iced teas and lemonades which were refreshing. Although I enjoyed their Matcha Ma Call It, I’m giving Double Chin three stars for the following reasons… WHYYY does the restaurant smell like a pet store? The bathroom had an unpleasant smell as well and was grungy. The décor is odd af. What’s with the pastel colored walls and ceilings? And that random outdoor swing? U.G.L.Y. Also, they have pictures of their food posted on the windows and on the menu. The main reason my friend and I did not eat their savory dishes was because it didn’t look or sound appetizing. Spam fries?! Why would you even order that lol? I don’t think I’ll be visiting here often but I def recommend their cube toast.

Although the I’ve only tried their Matcha Ma Call It, dessert cube toast, I’m a huge fan of this restaurant. I first heard of this place on Instagram because practically everyone and their mother were posting pictures of said cube toast. But they weren’t wrong in doing so, it was every bit delicious as it was photogenic! For $ 12 it is mahoosive, three friends and I shared one and it was more than enough. It’d be nice if they could make mini ones so each of us could snag a different flavour. The toast was a nicely sweetened French toast. And the matcha ice cream was particularly delicious which I was happy about because it’s very tempting for restaurants to buy or make a lower quality, watered down matcha ice cream. I’ll rate them very high because I loved the décor, my waitress, and the cube toast. I’ll definitely be back soon for an actual meal, my eye is on those Kimchi fries. Bonus: Following the Hong Kong theme, they have dozens of board games you can play!

I was really excited to try this place after seeing pictures of their cube toast on Instagram. The place is pretty big and there’s plenty of seating. The décor is cute and unique: pastel colored walls, swing set in the wait area, dangling lights. The service was great, the staff is very friendly and the food came out very quickly. Appetizers: 1. Salt and pepper wings: Very tasty! It’s not too salty with a hint of jalapeño spice. A great appetizer to share with friends. 2. «Poutine» your mouth(very punny): This was also very flavorful. It’s waffle fries topped with fried kimchi and creamy cheese. Surprisingly all the flavors went well together. Also a great appetizer to share. Entrée: Tomato pork chop rice: The portion was huge. The pork was very juicy and flavorful. I wish the tomato based sauce was richer, it tasted a bit too much like ketchup. But overall, it was good. Dessert: Finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for! Matcha ma call it(they love puns): Artery clogging deliciousness. Must I say more?! This was pretty much deep fried french toast(YUM) topped with 3 scoops of matcha ice cream and a ton of toppings(pocky, blueberries, strawberries, peach, mochi, chocolate syrup). It was massive and so instagram worth! I left with a full tummy and a double chin.

I’m so happy that Double Chin finally opened! A cute name that’s a tribute to the co-founding sisters, the restaurant touts a lot of character with its extremely cute décor. I can’t get over how adorable the swinging bench is. The ambiance is similar to sitting in someone’s living room – very cozy and homey. Our group of three ordered the Hawaiian Fried Rice, the Char Sui Pan Fried Noodles, and the Dry Beef Chow Fun. We also got to try the spam fries and then finished our meal off with the Matcha Ma Call It. The Hawaiian Fried Rice is seriously my newly discovered love. I’ve actually never had spam before, nor have I tried ketchup on fried rice. Great combination for all of the above – I would come back just for this dish! Pan Fried Noodles have always been a childhood favorite for me, so I was thrilled to order the noodles. It was as expected and had a nice nostalgic feel to it. The Dry Beef Chow Fun was good as well and my friends enjoyed it, though I was too busy eating the fried rice to try too much of it. I really enjoyed the spam and taro fries – I love that they come in the spam container. It was a great balance of salty and crunchy. A big part of the restaurant’s vision is the dessert, and I’m so glad that somehow we all had room for dessert after eating way too much for our own good. The Matcha Ma Call It was delicious! The bite sized pieces of toast were amazing and delicious and honestly, what’s not to love about a medley of fruit, pocky, mochi, and ice cream? We were too full to eat the actual brick of toast, but maybe next time we’ll get around to it. I love the founders’ creative take on a lot of the dishes – apparently the Portuguese Spaghetti is a dish to try! I would definitely come back to Double Chin for a small appetizer and a dessert dish(actually, probably the fried rice and a dessert dish). I can see myself cozy-ing up in the restaurant for awhile with my boyfriend.

I came here last night with a couple friends, the place is very vibrant and colorful which makes you feel welcome once you enter the door. We were greeted promptly and sat at a high table. I found the chairs a bit uncomfortable at the high tables but that’s not the reason for the four stars. I order only dessert and an appetizer since I wasn’t that hungry. I had a macha dessert which I couldn’t pronounce the name, but it had red bean, green tea ice cream, and herbal jelly. I really enjoyed this because I usually find desserts a bit too sweet for my liking and this was just right. I also ordered scallion pancakes and a red bean smoothie. The pancakes weren’t my favorite, they had this odd garlic taste to it at times and lacked a genuine scallion taste. The red bean smoothie was good, but could use a little more red bean flavor to it, My friends ordered the kimchi waffle fries which had a different name on the menu, but they were actually really delicious, it has a strong kimchi flavor flavor and it hit the spot. We also had he pork katsu which was actually pretty bland, my friend started to put the rest of the kimchi sauce we had from the fries into his rice. At the end we had the toast dessert that everyone has been instagramming but my friend devoured it before I could take a picture. They all enjoyed the dessert a lot and for 12 $ it is worth it. I will definitely be back to try more from their menu and I won’t rate that harsh because it’s still their soft opening and they’re trying to figure things out. Also, our server was very polite and nice. I apologize for the mediocre pictures as well.

So I write this as I am eating food from double chin right now! I ordered pick up form the restaurant and I am glad that I did. I realize that the restaurant is new and still unpacking but the smell inside was unbearable. I thought I had walked into a pet store, and the bathroom smelt like mold. I got the pork katsu sandwich and it was good! for $ 7.00 plus $ 3.25 for a milk tea though… price point here is WAY off for a sandwich that consisted of two slices of tomato, two pieces of lettuce, a thin piece of pork, and some sauce. Considering the area you are in you can get full meals for 6 – 7 drink included. The rest of the menu looked to be a little over priced as well. The reason for three stars is that I do know that the restaurant is in its infancy so the smell can be fixed and I also didn’t sit down to eat so I didn’t get the full experience. Therefore Im being a lenient otherwise I’d give it a 2. Hope it gets better! –Maitre’d was nice!

Immediately, we were hit with the smell of Chinatown — like poultry(if you went to get chicken with your parents in chinatown, you’ll know what im talking about)/sewage. There are some things on the menu that are different, i must admit that. I saw something like cola wings, kimchee poutine and dfferent desserts like matcha tres leches. We ordered some hot food but by the time it came out, it was cold/lukewarm. They mustve given the chef a plate of rice and they threw the sauce on top when he was done. So the rice would be sitting there the whole time it’s waiting for the chef to be done. It wasnt bad. I’d go back but that smell is really something they need to take care of.

Well first off, I don’t think people should rate them too hard because it is a new restaurant and they are just starting to figure out the ways of running. They have a lot of improvements but that comes with time. They do have potential though! The wait does take a little while, and it is kind of hard to sometimes get the servers attention, but they are all very nice and polite. For appetizer I had the spam fries, Mac n cheese, and the chicken skewers. The spam fries are my favorite, but the spam fry is very salty so I suggest eating it with the taro fry at the same time. Mac n cheese was very different and kind of weird at first, but after awhile you get use to it, but I think you just have to get use to the fact that you’re eating mac n cheese with flat noodles. If you get the chicken skewers ask for less peanut sauce, it’s very thick and can glue your mouth together. For food I had noodles(I forgot what it was called), and then chinwich, which taste like a Banh mi in a scallion pancake! Dessert I had the matcha ma call it, it was soo good. It is very filling and definitely Instagram worthy. If you come, place your drink order first! It takes awhile for it to come out, the Hong Kong style milk tea was very good. The place is small, so if you were hoping to come with a large party you should probably call ahead of time. But the place is very cute, bright colors and a happy atmosphere. It’s like a little café, bar, meet up kinda place. I do love the little Instagram worthy icons though!

I was excited to try this place as it was under construction for quite a few months. The experience was unfortunately subpar. To quickly summarize, the food wasn’t bad — but expected a lot more overall. This may have just been my visit, but the restaurant smelled like preserved mustard that day — not a very appetizing first impression. The food was fine, but nothing special imho. We had the matcha jelly red bean dessert, which I thought was going to be in a cup, but was served in a narrow sundae glass. The problem was that the scoop of green tea ice cream was straight out of the freezer and when I tried to spoon some, it pushed the entire scoop down, causing the jelly and sauce to spill all over the glass. Besides that, it tasted as expected. The chicken skewers had too much pure peanut butter on it, making it hard to chew and was drying to the mouth. I would suggest either having it on the side as a dipping sauce and/or thinning it out with some soy sauce. The crab rangoon were pretty good, I liked that they added craisins in it. Lastly the beef brisket sandwich was also pretty good, but there was barely any meat for a $ 9 sandwich. I really wish they chose a different color scheme for the interior. It’s dominated by a seafoam green, accented with a peachy pink and pastel yellow. It reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants in the area, where you can tell they haven’t cleaned the walls in decades. Warmer tones would have suited the(majority) savory menu better.

Double Chin is finally open! Such a cute logo and an even cuter interior. Stopped by with friends for the soft opening and we tried as many dishes as we could. Loved all of the dishes. Spam fries, salt and pepper wings, double chinwich, edamame, duck, Mac and cheese, etc! Everything was so delicious and refreshingly different than anything else being offered in the area. We will definitely be back soon!

This review is only for the dessert. I got the brick toast with strawberries, blueberries and mochi. There wasn’t that much fruit even though it was the«fruity» option and mostly just bread with a few scoops of ice cream. It was satisfying but it took a little over 20 minutes to come out even though the restaurant wasn’t full and the dessert itself just looked thrown together. I get that it’s going under some renovations still since it’s still their soft opening but there was an odd poultry smell lingering and it decreased my appetite. I look forward to trying the actual food and the restaurant has good potential, so this won’t be my last time here.

I was so excited to try this new restaurant, since I am a big fan of Hong Kong style cafes. They were pretty busy for lunch. Note that this is only their third day after opening. The service was slow and the food was slow to come out, but we didn’t mind since we were not in a rush; also since this was only their third day, I assume they don’t have all their kinks worked out. The food was good, however I think they need to do some work to make it «great». We had the French toast. The peanut butter was too strong, it would have been better if they went lighter on the peanut butter and a little more condensed milk. The hot HK style milk tea wasn’t even warm. The scallion pancake was excellent and the seafood noodles were also very good. The Portuguese style rice was ok. I told the waiter/host that the tea was cold — he seemed very frazzled and seemed to say it was very busy, and then just moved on. No apology, no credit, no hot tea offered as a replacement. I offer this feedback so that the owners can make some improvements. They have a great concept and the place is super cute. Once they improve the customer service and work out the kinks in some of their dishes — they have the ingredients for a great hangout in line with their concept. Good luck to them!

Actual rating: Let’s go with between 3 and 4 stars. The menu is what you’d typically find in HK Style cafes: Western foods fused with Asian tastes. It’s a great concept and a much needed addition to Chinatown. As it’s pretty new, I’m expecting some improvement as time passes so I’ll be looking to upgrading this rating to 4 or maybe even 5 stars. :) We started off our first visit with HK style milk tea, iced. I appreciate how balanced the taste was. It wasn’t sugary sweet but the tea wasn’t overpowering either. It’s a good mix. Next up was the breakfast sandwich with egg and ham. This was kind of a letdown because the bread was already getting soggy by the time it got to our table. The taste was still good, though the mayo was kind of overpowering. We couldn’t taste or find the ham, but so it was an egg sandwich. I think there must have been some miscommunication there, but since we had already bitten into it, there was no point in having them add the ham back. Salt and pepper wings were pretty good though. I definitely enjoyed this. It’s a good dish to be shared. The desserts of Matcha Tres Leches Grass Jelly and I Want My Baby Bao were extremely yummy. I think I consider these two as highlights of my visit. The mix of the matcha ice cream with red bean plus grass jelly was a fabulous mix. There was no one overpowering flavor. Nope, you get all three equally. Then with the Baby Bao, I definitely loved the matcha and Ovaltine dips. So good. I could eat a loooooot of these mantou donut slices in one setting. Service-wise, I think it was good for a new place. The food came out pretty quickly for us and they were quite attentive. Overall, I think they’re off to a good start. I’m already looking forward to our next trip. Gotta try the cube toast!

cute place. Gloria and Emily are the owners and are super friendly. The restaurant was very busy and at one point we were waiting for our drinks to come one at a time but the staffs were super friendly and drinks were good. We ordered a huge table of food. *Ordered tropical beach, hangover cure(ginger honey peach was a good mixture of flavors), down to earth drinks– all had their unique aromatic fruit flavors. Flavors go well with its mix. Creamed color wall papers. The set of swings was creative. This can be a great spot for dates. I will have to say it’s one of the most unique restaurant in Chinatown with such creativity, mixing the modern culture into the Chinese HK dishes. *mac n cheese –if you like Mac and cheese, try this! Creamy and baconlicious *matcha tres leches grass jelly– was refreshing and if you like matcha and grass jelly! * I want my baby Bao –has a mix of crispy and creamy texture with unique flavors of ovaltine and matcha crème. *hk style French toast –savory and sweet, a classic *kimchi poutine waffle fries was delish! Absolute must try, good combination of crispy, and kimcheese kick to it. *salt and pepper wings –always a good dish * pan fired noodles– this is always a good dish as well * had the matcha ma call it cube toast, it was so gorgeous looking I didn’t want to eat it. *spam taro fries presented in a spam can box, was cute *sandwiches were good picks! Who would have thought of soft shell crab sandwich! *portuguese chicken rice depends on the person. Some of us at the table loved it and some didn’t. Reason I gave 5 is because I will definitely come back. Presentation was fabulous. Some food was okay but others at your table may love it. And I definitely found my favorite dishes.

This place is the cutest, don’t get me wrong. I started off really excited coming in here to try the brick toast– but I left just a tad disappointed. But I’ll get into that later. My friend and I got the STABLE sandwich. It was SO good, but it kept falling apart! Very ironic, huh? Although I thought that the portion size was great, I think I’d rather get another sandwich here though since I feel like I could probably make a similar sandwich at home. This sandwich simply consists of spam, tomato, avocado, bacon, lettuce, and egg. As for the cube/brick toast, I had such high expectations for it. It really wasn’t as sweet as I thought it would be, it actually wasn’t at all– besides the random spots with chocolate sauce over it. Based on the pictures, the«Muddy Madness» that we got today did not look like the one from the pictures. Everything looked almost thrown on. I still enjoyed it though. The dessert as a whole was very fun to eat! This isn’t going to be my last time here. This place has a lot of potential and it can only get better. I can see myself going here a lot more in the future. I really wanted to love this place, but for now I am taking a point off for taste overall and a point off because I waited about a half an hour after eating the sandwich for the brick toast. Crossing my fingers that the next visit will be better!

How can you not want to eat at a place that is called Double Chin? Probably the best thing to happen to Chinatown Boston in forever! I’m so happy to hear that the owners are locals opening a restaurant here vs. yet another trendy chain food place, which is quite a huge relief given the gentrification that has been gobbling up multiple small businesses around the area. This place is the perfect fusion between traditional fare and more westernized food, perfectly representing the food found in Hong Kong. The staff speak both English and Cantonese(and probably Mandarin), which is a total plus because it’s going to be the best way for me to show my older relatives what Westernized Asian kids eat. As a person who loves loves loves everything Hong Kong and its perpetual identity crisis, I am so happy we have a place like this! Anyways, about the food, there are so many things that I highly recommend going as a group and getting a little bit of everything! Get an app, a nice sandwich, and one of the amazing desserts that is totally an accurate representation of what good westernized Chinese food is supposed to be like. The«instagram worthy» icons on the menu are a nice touch and definitely perfect for food bloggers. There are places to get HK styled food in Boston, but in terms of presentation and taste, this place is the best.

The food is Hong Kong Western or Canto-Western: snacks, sandwiches, fries(potato and taro). They have rice plates and noodle plates and even spaghetti. The décor is subtle-hipster-bright. Tables spacing is slightly tight, I like the high top tables and the bench seats on the wall. Today they were working the kinks out and it was a bit chaotic. I had the Portuguese Chicken Rice: it was rich in texture, the chicken pieces were small bites. (Macanese Style Portuguese Curry Chicken 葡國雞). The tumeric and yellow curry were wonderful and did not overpower the dish. I also had a Mango Smoothie, a bit sweet for me but it was delicious. I’ll be back for lunch or dinner soon. * parking: street bwahahaha! or the cramped lot between Tyler and Harrison. * forks not chopsticks, at least I didn’t see any. * it’s an ambitious menu many items. Stick with Sandwiches, Salads, and Snacks to start. * chicken wings are good bet. * wine, beer, sake and soju, prosecco cocktails. * smoothies, teas, ovaltine, coffee * «cart noodles» and«wok and bowl» are hearty choices, the dish I had was WaB. * cut them some slack they are shiny and new, eh?

Came here today with a few friends on soft opening. Tried several items. More description to come so stay tuned. Ordered so far: salt and pepper wings: tasty. Juicy. Not too salty but you can def taste it padded with sliced jalapeños. Soft shell crab sandwich. Small crab inside cut in half on a large bread with a couple of slices of tomato and lettuce in mayo. The top slide of bread was soft but the bottom was the ends part or something because it was very crusty.
