Really, really miss this place! Crepes really just didn’t exist in downtown Boston before this pop-up. And they were fresh, made-to-order deliciousness, with any fillings you might fancy. A few weeks back on a freezing morning I walked past thinking the lights were on, daydreaming about a warm ham and cheese crêpe for breakfast, secretly hoping they had returned… unfortunately, I had no such luck. Dore Creperie, come back! If only to stop one person’s hallucinations that you are still open…

I think that this was a good experiment for the owners. It was a 6-month pop-up that filled the void of retail left from when the Carving Station(Pressed owners) left. I won ‘life time’ crepes there by completing a contest. The servers were always friendly, and remembered me from my frequent trips in there. The manager, Greg, was so nice and I feel that he did a good job of working with what the menu and budget was within the pop up time frame. I liked a lot of their crepes, and I loved that they used a Gluten– Free batter. They did not have the extensive menu like Paris Creperie but for being a pop-up they continued to develop more menu items, including specials. I do think that overall they missed the mark on making the crepes being that they often left greasy on the outside. I think that Paris Creperie would flip their crepes half way through to have even cooking but they would just put the batter down and not flip it. I felt that there were a few times the crêpe would be a little under done, not raw, but not exactly firm. Having been in there so much and talked to the staff while they made the crepes, Ive heard that the team behind the Dore might be looking into revamping the pop up concept in other locations in the city. Looking forward to that.

Argh! Why, oh why, is Dore no more? Just when I’ve discovered a great little crêpe place in the downtown area they go and close up shop. I know I know. That’s what pop-up places are all about. But I want more ham and cheese crepes! Now I go to cry myself to sleep, mostly because I’m too lazy to go to another crêpe place or make myself a crêpe.

Dore is shutting its doors on Friday(11⁄18), so get there quickly if you want another crêpe! It turns out that this little shop was an investor’s experiment, and now its time is up, which is too bad because they were just getting into the swing of things. Last week, I used my Living Social deal here and took the crêpe class, which was about 30 minutes of class and 60 minutes of make-it-yourself, all-you-can-eat crepes. I would have loved to see what else they had in store!

–1 star only crêpe maker making was too busy chatting it up to realize his crêpe machine was unhooked from the outlet. –1 star took him a good ten minutes to realize it –1 star when he actually realized his mistake, he did not make a new crêpe –1 star he allowed me to walk out of a crêpe café, with a raw crêpe with the spinach half cooked, and the cheese not melted ham on top still cold, batter still a raw pale white no even a hint of brown. Why would you place a crêpe into a paper bag upside down? Are you seriously setting me up for drippage? Well if you did then you are in luck. 1 ruined dress, 1 ruined lunch, means you have 1 less customer.

Finally, Boston has a new accessible creperie that’s actually good. Tried 3 crepes, loved 3 crepes. The crêpe itself is thin like most of the French girls I saw in Paris, and the fillings are warm and rich, like most things French. Loved the Apples and Brie, just kept telling myself that apples are good for you because they definitely didn’t skimp on that gooey melted brie… Impossibly big flavor crammed into the Figgy Smalls — if you only get one crêpe, get this one. The Bananas Foster is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S and is a great follow-up to a savory crêpe if you still have room. Overall, the prices are very reasonable, and the only thing keeping me from coming back is the fact that they’re not open when I’m out of clinic. But if you don’t have clinic, this is exactly where you belong come lunchtime.

I wandered into this place at my lunch hour and was surprised to find it rather empty. I ordered the ham and cheese crêpe. It was very good. Prepared quickly and about $ 8 with a drink. I would like to try the chicken and cheese combos sometime. Not a huge portion, but okay for me. The dessert crepes looked awesome.

Stopped in to Dore again today after some encouragement from the owner, Greg. I tried the new banana nutella shake and had the apples and brie crêpe again. Major improvements! The shake was refreshing and delicious: lots of nutella flavor and was a good shake consistency. The apples and brie was also much improved from my previous experience and was well made and not too crispy. I will definitely be back. In addition to the new banana nutella shake they also now have sweet and savory batter to choose from.

I came for the free crêpe day with little expectations(a free crêpe is a free crêpe), but was really pleasantly surprised! I got the Rosemary Ham and Swiss cheese crêpe which is nicely spiced and well complemented by the lightly salty cheese. I also tried the Mint Limeade which was pleasantly tart and sweet, very refreshing, and had real mint leaves in it. Over all, I would definitely go again! Looking forward to tasting the Apple and Brie savory crêpe!

Because of their hours and because I work far away, I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to try Dore Creperie. But I had a weekday off recently and decided to try them out while I could. I had a Conan crêpe for lunch and a Nutella shake to go. Unlike others, I found my crêpe to be pretty filling. That’s probably because it has mashed potatoes though, and mashed potatoes are almost always filling. I thought the crêpe was very tasty. I’m especially glad that they have different recipes for the savory and sweet crêpe batter. A lot of crêpe places use the same sweet crêpe batter for everything and the savory crepes end up tasting too sweet for my tastes. I didn’t have much room after the crêpe for a shake, but I soldiered on anyway since I knew I probably wouldn’t be back. The shake wasn’t very thick, but it was very Nutella-y, so I was willing to overlook that. All in all, it was a delicious lunch, and I’m a little sad that I probably won’t make it back. Side note: Even though I didn’t order either of them, I love that they have Pawnee and Eagleton crepes, and that the Eagleton crêpe is so much fancier than the Pawnee one.

My favorite thing is to watch my food being made right before my eyes and that’s just what I did at Dore Creperie. The place is small, but has just the right amount of seats for their customers. It’s right in the center of all the hustle and bustle of business people rushing to get their lunch during the week, so I suggest heading there around 1 so it’s not so crowded. All the options sound delicious, but I went with a savory crêpe. I had a hard time deciding and I was just about to go with the Figgy Smalls, but I stuck with something a bit more simple: chicken and goat cheese. They were really helpful and accommodating. I wanted the buckwheat batter, but I guess that’s a popular choice since they were all out of it already. The crêpe was very thin, crispy on the edges, but cooked to perfection. I love the portability of how they wrap it up for you in a little triangle package. It also makes the bite at the end the best one! Save it for last. I’ll definitely be back to try some of their sweet crepes. If your having a Paris crêpe craving, Dore Creperie is pretty much the next best thing!

I’ve had the nutella and banana crêpe and the brie and apple crêpe. Both were utterally amazing and great size. The batter is light and delicious and all the fillings are cooked to perfection and put together in perfect proportions. Yes you must be prepared to be covered in nutella if you get those crepes but that kinda is understood if you order it but boy is it good. They heat all the fruit they put in the crepes so theres a hint of toasty/caramelness to them. They drizzle honey in the brie and apple which adds just enough sweetness. You can add ham to it which I think I’m definitely going to do next time to make it alittle more filling. It’s definitely on the pricier side but it’s a nice splurge and change up to the daily sandwich/salad routine. Their lemonades and Arnold Palmers are yummy as well. Looking forward to trying there other options because they close up because they’re only a pop-up so not sure how much longer we’ll be able to enjoy their crepey-deliciousness.

First impression of the menu: not as robust as other crêpe places I’ve been to but there are some very interesting savory combinations — not fully convinced that they will be filling. The one that sounded the most filling: Bruschi, mainly because it had chicken, bruschetta and swiss. To my surprise the crêpe actually was very filling. The flavor is really good, although the bruschetta(which is excellent, by the way) makes the crêpe a bit soggy — it can’t be helped. Aside from the soggy middle the edges are a bit too crispy, but I don’t mind it too much, the batter is pretty tasty. Next one I would like to try: Figgy Smalls. Figs and prosciutto sound awesome. And perhaps a dessert crêpe if I ever have time to leave the office for a snack. Other notes Crepes are made to order They travel extremely well Interesting savory crêpe menu Surprisingly filling

I forgot to bring my breakfast with me!!! So I decided to finally try this place out, even though i wasn’t too excited about the thought of a crêpe. I got ham, egg and cheese(they have a whole bunch of cheeses to choose from) and then got to watch them make it. It was huge, and I was alo happy to see that they folded it the way a crêpe should be folded and not wrapped like a burrito. The crêpe was so smooth and soft and the fillings were perfect for the morning. It was a little expensive but it might be worth it every once in a while. Also, due to its large size, it may not be a something you take out and eat while walking, it might be difficult.

My friend and I visited Dore Creperie for breakfast this morning. The crepes are delicious and the staff is friendly. I got the $ 5 breakfast special which consists of an egg and cheese crêpe and coffee. Crêpe batter has a slightly sweet taste which mixes really well with both savory and sweet crepes. YUMMY!

I work directly across the street from Dore’s current location and was anxiously awaiting their opening(which apparently happened a week earlier than I realized– oops). I’m constantly on the lookout for new, quick lunch options that aren’t teeny-tiny sandwich and overpriced soup and Dore was exactly what I needed! I’ve been twice thus far and gotten the Conan– cheese and potato goodness with bacon bits and sour cream– and the Pawnee– ham and cheese. Both were absolutely delicious and it amused the crap out of me that my Conan was made to actually look like Conan O’Brien before it got smooshed into a takeout sleeve. As for cost, they’re a little pricier than I’m able to afford on a daily basis, but no more expensive than the aforementioned uninspired soup/sandwich combos and incredibly filling. I also wish they had some kind of plate-like option for takeout since the foil contraption they’re wrapped in tends to get super messy when I take it back to work to eat. The staff were super friendly and fun. I will definitely be back to try more of their delicious sounding menu.

heard about this through Urban Daddy and was excited to check it out. Overall I have to say I’m a little disappointed, but willing to try it again. Went for lunch and got the Spicy Buffalo. For the price(about $ 9 after tax), I would have expected more. I’m not really sure what I wanted more of, but it just seemed a little light and lacked personality. I was hoping for a solid lunch, but needed a snack later in the afternoon. It was still pretty tasty with lots of blu cheese, but, again, I just wanted something more to it. I think the packaging could use some tweaks too. My half covered crêpe was placed in a brown paper bag to make it «to go,» but the crêpe was just falling over in the bag getting smushed so I took it out within a minute(but the wrapper was still too hot to hold) and just threw out a perfectly good bag. I think a small pizza box would have been a better fit. i liked that the people were very friendly, but they still seemed a bit new/timid for whatever reason. I’ll probably go back and try a sweet variety once its been open a few more week as I think that will be better then their savory options.

Been here a couple times now and decided it’s time this place gets thrown into the ring. *Round 1: Initial Engagement Went with the CONAN crêpe. Mashed potatoes, bacon bits, sour cream, and copious amounts of cheese. It was good, however, I’m pretty sure they used bacon bits and not real bacon… might be cuz they lack a stove to make bacon? Iunno… but it was weird. The cheese stole the show tho as it was gooey and delicious. The killer jab to the groin, however, was that it cost 9 bones. Kind of shocking for something with potatoes and cheese in it plus a few bacon bits and a dab of sour cream. I dunno, call me frugal!(ok, call me cheap). DORE got knocked around a bit in Round 1 – but still on its feet. *Round 2: Back for More — Not Giving Up Went with their newly-unveiled buffalo chicken crêpe. This one was good. Lotsa chicken, melted blue cheese, some celery for crunch, and hot sauce. The buffy-sauce wasn’t overpowering, though, so you could really get the punch from the blue cheese. I liked it! Round 2 goes to DORE. *Round 3: The Intangibles The thing that separates this place from the competition is the atmosphere and social-media presence. They’re putting ebullient workers out on the streets handing out free samples, they’re giving crepes to Big Baby Davis(last thing Big Baby needs, jkjkjkj lol.(but seriously, maybe next time hand the dude a jump-rope instead)), they’re tweeting their asses off(@DoreCreperie), they’re makin vids, and they’re communicating with patrons on Unilocal.DORE just absolutely dominates Round 3. Soooo it’s a split decision– but Dore wins. I love how involved they are, their customer service, and how they are promoting themselves– and *that’s* what *could* make them a CONTENDAH amongst the lunchtime Government Center establishments like heavyweights Zo, Al’s, and even Sam Lagrassa’s.

Doin it and doin it and doin it right… Dore Creperie is quickly earning more and more stars from this Unilocaler right here… The owner(Greg) responds to Unilocal reviews, is really nice and personable, hires good, nice, happy folks and seems to be making positive moves as a local businessman through the use of social networking(look em up on twitter! You might win a free lunch!). Nutella shake… thick and blended now!!! They took my advice and it taste aaamazingly delicious. Now, how many places actually take the time to read their Unilocal reviews, respond to them, and make adjustments based on them… Fuckin awesome!!! Margarita crêpe… tasty and filling… mmmmm basil… I’d love it if the crepes were just a little cheaper, but I think they got the right price point for the area they’re in and since they seem to be using quality ingredients, and are good, nice, hardworking folks, engaged in the community… I’ll definitely be back and happy to give them my hard earned cash for some dope food and drank. Grand opening next week! Can’t wait to see what’s on the menu!

After standing around for three hours on Tremont St. in order to spend five minutes watching the Bruins roll by on duck boats, I was feeling a bit peckish. The trick was to find a place to grab a bite to eat while avoiding the gigantic hordes of B’s fans crowding every establishment to its door. That’s when my fiancée, Diana, brought up something she saw on Twitter. Doré Crêperie was having a special Bruins Parade sneak preview, opening a couple of days before their real grand opening. What’s more, they had a special Black and Gold crêpe, made with Nutella and banana, specially made for that day. Nutella and banana crêpe? Bring it. At first, we weren’t sure where to look. We knew it was at One Beacon, but that’s a big building with a gym and a bank and other financial-looking places. We looked all around the building and just couldn’t figure out where it was, until we noticed the B’s signs on the previously closed Pressed Sandwiches building. We checked it out, and sure enough, it was Doré Crêperie. I’m sure this is going to change, but it was a little weird having the signs for the last failed restaurant still up two days before your new place is supposed to open. Also, it is misleading to people who don’t live in the area to put the address of your business as «One Beacon,» when technically the actual location is on Tremont St., and not even directly attached to the One Beacon building. I never realized it was technically considered part of that building. Anyway, when we went inside, it wasn’t totally obvious what we had to do to order. Upon entering we saw, in this order, a menu, three guys making crêpes, and then a cash register. It wasn’t clear who was supposed to be taking an order, and there were several customers milling about, so we couldn’t really tell what was a line and what was people waiting for their food. Eventually someone waved us over to the register, where we ordered. I was barely done ordering when they had the first Black and Gold crêpe wrapped up and ready to go. Then the man who made it handed it to me and started up the second one. In no time flat, we had two delicious-looking crêpes. They were wrapped up in sort of a triangle shape, which made them really easy to eat on the go while giving an excellent view of the gooey Nutella and bananas stuffed inside. To put it simply, it was delicious. One of the first things Diana said when biting into it was, «I think they put a whole jar of Nutella in this!» Yeah, it seemed that way. It was impossible to eat without getting a ring of chocolate on your mouth, which is exactly how anything with Nutella is supposed to be made. The crêpe was just thick enough to not fall apart as you eat it without getting away from what makes it, quintessentially, a crêpe. It wasn’t the most filling $ 5 I’ve ever spent, but it was a very tasty one. It was more like a really good, large snack than a whole meal-on-the-go. I will go back, assuming they’re open when I’m in the area. The location makes me nervous, because I’ve seen countless places fail here, and no matter how interesting a place may be, they never seem to be open on the weekends when I’m actually around to try it. They opened for the parade, so that gives me some hope that I may be able to stop in when I’m taking a weekend saunter downtown. Because that was one fine crêpe, and I’m excited to see what else they cook up in the future.
