Just like romeo and juliet, bread and butter, peanut butter and jelly etc etc… well you got the point… are inseparable me and chacarero are just as tight as them(even if I have to take a mortgage out to eat their sandwichs) I confess two things here. I love love chacarero and is one of the best sandwiches and second is I can eat a large spicy chk and a small spicy chk in one sitting. Today might be the first time I only had one since we were dinner hopping. did not know about their new location and the fact they are open so late… JACKPOT…now I am a happy guy… the sandwichs are perfecr and very good. Love theor spicy sauce and the roasted red peppers. I mean what else can I say about this that has not been said. This place is either a hit or miss… the toppings are wierd for sandwichs which includes chk, cheese, tom, green beans and roasted red peppers with guac spread on top and spicy chutney at bottom. That is it simple and very tasty… thank thank for the new location and opening so late… Wwwwooooooooooooooooooooooo

Delicious ethnic cuisine! I had the chicken chacarero, and it was wonderful! Very clean, and the beans were cooked perfectly. Aaaand, you can choose your level of spiciness.

The five stars are for the drink selection(crazy aloe drinks and more — I have no idea where else you get them but they taste good whatever they are) and CHICKENEMPANADAS. The beef ones are okay — they would be amazing if they were spicy… But I don’t even like chicken that much and these things are a pockets full of lightly spiced flavourful perfectly made crust madness. I kind of want to order another one now, but I’m full. AND they are dirt cheap. Their signature sandwich I only find alright — they are unique and interesting… green beans on a sandwich? Curious. The hot sauce is good. But really. Just eat empanadas. They do not disappoint. Ever. The staff is nice and can give you recommendations if you’re lost. They make everything fresh, so it’s way better for you than anything else you will find in a food court. Go here. Eat here. Rejoice!

Had high hopes for this food court food. I love empanadas and was excited to try theirs. Unfortunately my chicken empanada, while decently sized, didn’t really leave me satisfied. While touted as «spicy» it was actually really bland and filled with gristle. The staff was very friendly and not overly pushy like most mall food court places, so that was nice. My dish just wasn’t really all that great.

I felt gypped, but perhaps I was only misinformed — which is just as bad in my book. Communication is important in relationships, whether personal or business. I was considering the vegetable or the chicken, so I asked the fellow at the register(whom I later discovered was the manager) what the difference was. Were there additional vegetables in the veggie? No, I was told that the only difference was the inclusion of the meat. Oh, okay, then I’ll have the chicken($ 7.75 for a small vs $ 6.35 for the veggies version). But when it came to the construction of my sandwich, they did not give me any juicy roasted red pepper, which was just what I was wanting in my sandwich. Turns out the only way to get that was to either order the vegetable, or to get it bbq style which would add both bbq sauce and red peppers for a slight price difference. My sandwich maker(don’t shoot the messenger!) was apologetic, but that didn’t get me any roasted red peppers. I was annoyed. While the sandwich was huge for a small(I only ate half for my lunch), the chicken was on the dry side, which resulted in a rather dry sandwich despite the smear of avocado and the juicy green beans. And their tomatoes were pink rather than red(which I really don’t understand since there are so many beautiful red tomatoes out there right now), which didn’t make for a pretty(or tasty) presentation.

This place completely legitimizes the Mall Food Court Scene. Had the original beef chacarero and it was excellent. Great test of ethnic food when you need it. The portions are large and the price is fair.

Had this for the first time today. Definitely one of the better options in the prudential food court. I ordered the small original beef. Overall, it was a pretty tasty sandwich. The avocado spread went very well w/the beef and almost tasted like brazilian bbq meat in chimichurri sauce. The bread itself kind of reminded me as a cross between ciabatta bread and an arepa. Although the sandwich was tasty and a small was more than satisfying… i’m not sure if I can justify purchasing this again for the price. As another Unilocaler had commented, at almost $ 8, you can get two substantially sized banh mi for that price. So even though the sandwich is unique in the ingredients it had and was fairly tasty, it’s not THAT tasty enough to warrant another purchase based on the price.

The sandwich is huge, as other reviewers have said. The beef(fresh) is much better than the chicken(pre-cooked). It’s spicy enough: «medium» on a scale of {mild, medium, hot, Thai hot}. A few small things to nitpick on: First, the empanadas were not ready.(Seriously? It’s 7:00 pm. Isn’t that dinner time?) Second, my napkins were not-trivially stained by the sauce from the server’s gloves. Overall, a decent bite at a reasonable price in an expensive part of town.

I ordered an original chicken chacarero. Service was pleasant and efficient, but I don’t care for this sandwich and I think $ 7.75 is way too expensive for what you get. I didn’t find the sandwich satisfying. The bread is dry like a very large untoasted english muffin. It would taste better if the bread was toasted and smaller in proportion to the fillings. I rather spend $ 4 on a banh mi or grilled cheese.

Chacarero is really raising the bar on the mall food court meal. Sandwiches are huge – the small is big enough for me to be very full. I like to order the small original chicken with everything, which includes hot sauce, avocado spread, green beans, muenster cheese, and tomato, but you can customize your order to your liking. The line can be long, but it moves quickly. This location of Chacarero, unlike the others, accepts credit cards. As for the spice level, I can handle some heat but you’ll never find me in a hot wing eating contest. The hot sauce on the Chacarero sandwich is pretty hot, but it sneaks up on you. It’s not so much heat in your mouth as it creeps up your esophagus after you’re done eating. In any case, I like the heat from the sandwich with no modifications but think I’d die if I got extra hot sauce. If you’re concerned, just order it without hot sauce.

Chacarero recently opened in the food court at the Prudential Center. Finally a great sandwich in the Pru!!! I used to make a special trip to downtown crossing to get one of their yummy chicken sandwiches. It seems as if people have not yet discovered them in the Pru so tell your friends! No lines, friendly service and fantastic food!

GETTHESPICY. DOIT. I got the original small combo(beef/chicken) and it wasn’t very flavorful. I’m all for flavors so I was underwhelmed all due to my own fear of spiciness on a hot day! However, the bread and meats were pretty good! The avo spread was a nice touch, while the green beans was definitely a different addition to the norm. Or perhaps get the BBQ… Anyways, give it a try if you want a new experience with a sandwich!

Simple, great tasting sandwitch you would expect to find in SF, NYC or LA not Boston. Given that Boston is terrible for Mexican food, this alternative is greatly welcomed. There are probably 8−10+ food vendors in this food court but over half the traffic is for this place alone(and rightfully so). I love my food spicy and ordered my bbq sandwich extra spicy. It was fine at first but then about 2 – 3 minutes after I finished, the heat finally came. Yes, the line moves slow but I expect that with any new place.

I caved and went back for lunch. The young woman behind the cash register could not have been nicer. There were 4 people on food prep. Best of all the sandwich was delicious and large enough that I only ate half for lunch.

Yep, so, its open. I called their Arch street branch in 2011, and then monthly, up until April, when they told me in one month. They weren’t lying. Those suckers almost waited until the end of May to open their new location. Located in the Pru FC, between Sarku and Flamers(shortest lines those poor saps have ever seen), Chacs is exactly what you would expect from a chilean sandwich. Please see any review of their downtown location. Differences: smaller… technically, slower lines, CC machine not working(Arch St is cash only). You pay before you go down the line. Literally the food is exactly the same as the one downtown. Plus 1 for consistency though.
