Supervisor(short asian guy with dark hair) should be fired. He was being rude to the employees in front of customers. Completely unprofessional and uncalled for. He also threw my croissant instead of handing it to me.

You cant mess up with a bagel, but staff training is the biggest issue here. I asked the staff when the bagels were made. He obviously had no idea. There are a few times that I got the bagels cut, or not cut. When I go back to have my bagels cut, their attitude is just bad. The people who worked at the registers are ALWAYS chatting and never greet any customers. The space upstairs is a mess and not usable. I think the only reason why this place is surviving is because of its location in downtown near the offices.

As good as their bagels are, that’s how bad their coffee is

This place serves some delicious bagels. Albeit, not New York type bagels… but pretty darn good nonetheless! I was here while exploring Boston after the Patriots won the super bowl and I wanted to stop for lunch at some local joint that folks recommended and I ended up here! The bagels were delicious, and that’s kind of all that you need to know. If you’re ever in Boston and just looking for a quick brunch while going around town, I recommend going here!

Truly an amazing and likable staff. Coming from NYC this is nowhere near the NYC stacked bagels(you know, the ones you need three hands and a tree-full of napkins to eat) but they are still crunchy on the outside. Pumpernickel is great, the veggies are fresh, but one egg per sandwich doesn’t really do it. But it’s a chain, low expectations on the food. Here, it’s the people. In the heart of Boston, it’s easy to have a pre-work grumpy disposition be met with the same — the Bruegger’s staff is always friendly, sweet, and attempting to connect with you. Great team!

The ladies that work there can be a little more pleasant. Also, I order almost the same thing every morning and the price comes out different, almost always. When I asked about it, the cashier said«I don’t know» and was dismissive.

Jamilly the manager is super nice and helpful. I wanted to buy the bottomless coffee mug key tag(best value ever), and they didnt have any. She could have left at that, but gave me her card and insisted i call her every day until they had it. They were back in stock 2 days later. She clearly cared and was super helpful. Oh yeah, the food and coffee is awesome there too.

I have always loved Brueggers(the one in Porter Sq) but haven’t been in a few years. I’ve been here 3 times in the past couple months and it is not as good as I remember. It may be due to the different location, or maybe not at all. I have ordered the Turkey Chipotle Club twice since clubs are my favorite. They do give a good amount of Turkey, too much bacon, and not enough lettuce or tomatoes. The chipotle mayo is not very good. The bagel was difficult to eat and not crunchy although toasted. It was prepared quicker than I expected. Overpriced drinks and snacks, okay priced sandwiches.

Wow this place is expensive!!! Nearly $ 5 for a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. That’s bad even for Boston. Not terribly friendly folks working on there either.

My review is based upon the fact that I’m used to great bagels living in the New York City area. This was the first time ever to this chain and i was very disappointed. The bagels were small. However, they were fresh and they had a nice variety. My wife and I had the herby turkey on a honey oat bagel and the herby turkey on the wheat bagel. The problem I saw was they don’t have a description of what’s on any of the sandwiches anywhere on the menu. The herby turkey was garlic herb cream cheese, sun dried tomato paste, and plain turkey. I’ve never had a turkey sandwich with cream cheese. I had to scrape it off. Service was friendly and prices were good.

I got a $ 2 off breakfast bagel in the mail for Bruegger’s Bagel and had always wanted to try it… so I skipped down the street singing«I got a golden ticket» until I reached my destination. There was a line almost out the door at 7:40am…“this place must be popular” I think to myself. I step in and peer around. Prices look good… sea salt caramel coffee… all the expected breakfast meats on homemade bagels… check check ANDCHECK. The ordering process was a little different; you order your bagel first, then your coffee. So it is kind of like the honor system in a way since you pay afterwards. I found it to be a nice change of pace from the Dunkin Donuts and Finagle a Bagels of the world. Overall, I was in and out quicker than expected and satisfied. I purchases a coffee cake muffin based solely on the bundt cake looking style as well as a turkey sausage on everything with cheese and egg and a large ice coffee. I got back to my office and started to chow down! First and foremost, I went for the breakfast sandwhich… I asked for toasted, what I got was raw and seared. The bagel had decent flavor, but not crunch… I didn’t even taste the egg… it was like a gelatinous sponge like substance, and the turkey sausage wasn’t flavorful and was more like a cardboard. Very disappointed with these results and this alone will cause me to avoid this place in the future. As for the sea salt caramel coffee, it was tasty. Didn’t blow my mind, but it was oddly refreshing and the caffeine content was high unlike Dunkins. Finally, the real gem is the coffee cake muffin and if you ask me they should rethink their branding and call themselves Miracle Muffins or Muffin Cakes or something along those lines. It was DELICIOUS… it was moist, fresh, the design was unique. Probably one of the best muffins I have ever had. For that, they get two stars instead of one.

Hello bagel :) nice to eat you this morning. — my attempt at a joke on a freezing day. Haha… or not? Bruegger’s Bagels is a choice place for me for a bagel anytime. Bagels are good, and bagel toppings are endless. I’m always greeted with a smile and a cheery hello whenever I walk in. Staff here remember their customers and are always warmly received. Bruegger’s also makes yummy breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and they also carry muffins and other snacks like rice krispy treats, brownies, e.t.c. What’s more is that’s it’s in a very convenient location — right in Downtown Crossing. There are 2 — one on School Street in addition to this one. Haven’t been to that one yet, but will soon. This location doesn’t have sourdough bagels though, which bites a little, but hey, blueberry is the next best option with lite plain cream cheese. I’ve never had an issue in terms of taste or service. Check these guys out! Oh random trivia. This location used to be a BK waaayyyyy back in the day. Like in 2002/03…can’t remember when it became a Bruegger’s :)

Terrible, awful, horrendous coffee. Bagels themselves are good but egg is pre-made and processed into parties. Your bagel is then microwaved and served. The only good thing about this place is that the service is super efficient and very polite.

Whatever you do, don’t look up where to find bagels in Boston. The sad, sparce map of Boston will only depress you(although, to be fair, there is Blunch in the South End). In any case, welcome to Brueggers. It is the only option available to you, so you better convince your brain that it’s a good«choice.» Yay Brueggers!

It’s a nice coffee shop but they need to stock their bathrooms with paper towel and toilette paper especially at 9AM when they have no excuse for not being stocked.

I love this place. Whether it’s for breakfast or lunch, their bagels are tasty, their chai is awesome and their staff are superior to any other Bruegger’s I’ve visited. I prefer the Everything bagels, but the employees actually will make flavor suggestions, depending on the kind of meats, cheeses and spreads you want to use. They’ll even mix and match cream cheeses for no extra charge, so you can get salmon on one half or your bagel and bacon chive on the other. This is a great on-the-go breakfast location with an interesting dining room layout, too.

The staff here is SO nice and friendly even at the busiest times! A Bruegger’s is a Brueggers, it’s no bagel from Brooklyn but you know what you’re getting. The only negative is that due to their location they are often out of things later in the day. Keep it in mind and go early!

I’ve only gone here because I had a free coupon for a bagel. I really don’t care for them, so I wouldn’t go back — even if another coupon came along.

How is it that I have tried to get breakfast at this place, eh, maybe 2 – 3 times a month and every time, they are out of(approximately) 70% of the bagel selection. How do you not have Everything bagels at 8:30 am(read: breakfast time) on a weekday(read: when this neighborhood is busy. And hungry). Anticipate crowds for breakfast time. Anticipate that these people will need bagels and plan accordingly. This place is a joke, and I second the comment from Mike O. regarding the 10 ton door. They make you work for your bagel! Or, work to wait and line and get rejected.

This review is based solely on the breakfast sandwich I threw away this morning. Sun dried tomato, egg white, cheddar on an everything bagel. The sun dried tomato was actually a gross paste that had more garlic than tomato, the egg white was rubbery and the cheese? He forgot the damn cheese. Grrr.
