I love the staff at this Bruegger’s. There’s one guy in particular who is always cracking silly jokes. I’m not at all a morning person, but he always puts me in a good mood when he rings me up.

Good fresh bagels. Well made sandwiches on fresh bread. Coffee is always hot and fresh. Good selection of tea, beyond the ever present Lipton. A friendly staff makes it a nice place to stop in.

How many ways can you screw up a bagel? I just wanted a pain bagel toasted with egg and cheese. Apparently this is complicated I have to walk somebody through it. Last week it was a blueberry bagel toasted with plain cream cheese… again, I literally had to walk her through the order. Oh, what’s with the yelling? There’s always two or three people working there who can’t speak without yelling in Spanish. The bagels are great… but each experience is exhausting. I’ll go regularly for a while but get so turned off or irritated that I end up at Dunkins across the street.

This place is fantastic. Not only is the food great but the staff is amazing. Extremely polite and helpful. Something that isn’t too common for a relatively cheap eat out. There are veggie options but also plenty for the carnivores. I’ve had the Leonardo de veggie($ 5.99), bagel with cream cheese($ 2.50) and the Tomato soup(I believe a cup was around $ 3). They have free wifi and the interior is acceptable. Not 100% clean(crumbs everywhere) and oddly formatted but the tables are all wiped down. This is my second time here and I will definitely be back soon.

Came in this morning for breakfast on my walk to work and while I expected good things, I can’t say I was terribly impressed. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a honey oat bagel and an iced coffee; pretty hard to get wrong. The egg sandwich was fine; not great, but not bad. They give you surprising little egg compared to, say Einstein Bagels or even Dunkin Donuts. The bagel was decent, but nothing to write home about. It satisfied my craving for an egg and cheese, but wouldn’t be my first stop. The coffee is really where this place falls apart. I like a good, bold coffee and this was not that at all. Even with no sugar and only a small, tiny bit of half and half, there was literally no coffee taste to speak of at all, it just tasted like nothing. My closest comparison would probably be Dunkin’ Donuts standard roast coffee, which is to say it looks like coffee but tastes like water. I work over the bridge on Melcher Street and honestly, I can think of multiple places I’d be more willing to stop for my morning coffee, such as Pret a Manger, The Coffee Trike, Metro Café, and even McDonalds. So disappointing.

Wide selection of freshly made bagels and cream cheeses. My favorite is the everything bagel with veggie or bacon & scallion cream cheese. The coffee is average though — I prefer Dunkin or Starbucks which are next to it.

I go to law school in the area, and after three years, I am desperate for something other than the burger and pizza places in the immediate vicinity, I am also slightly obsessed with breakfast sandwiches. Bruegger’s does the trick. Their«skinny zesty breakfast sandwich» is pretty great: cheese bagel, egg whites, swiss cheese and sun dried tomato spread. My only complaint is that I don’t think it was very«skinny.» The barista only chopped off a very slim bit from the middle of the bagel. The skinny zesty, however, tastes like a cheesy pizza, and that is absolutely ok with me. I also understand the complaints about the coffee: in years past, their coffee was completely unbearable: somehow watery and burnt at the same time. However, I tried the house blend today, and was surprised by how much I liked it: There is nothing artisan about it, but it’s mild and creamy in a way that may be slightly bland, but at least, non-offensive. Word to the wise however: stay away from their flavored coffee.

Came in this morning and was quickly taken care of. I ordered a hazelnut coffe and the smoked salmon breakfast sandwich which had smoked salmon, plain cream cheese, tomato, red onions and capers on it. The coffee was nothing to write about, the sandwich was decent. For my order totaling over $ 10 I really wasn’t too impressed. I might go back to try the Rio Grande Wrap cuz it sounds delicious.

The bagels at Brueggers are great, however the customer service is inconsistent. When I go in there I do occasionally get an attitude from one of the workers. This is unfortunate because most of the other workers there are great. This worker actually rolled her eyes at me today. I was nothing but respectful and nice. It is unfortunate that one worker can ruin the whole experience for you. Unfortunately, I love there bagels so I do go there at least once a week. However, this is becoming a place I don’t want to go to before I start my 12 hour work day because of the negativity and just plain rudeness that I really do not deserve as a paying customer.

Bruegger’s is one of those places I go all the time and don’t think much about. But, they understand their game and play it well. The staff are pleasant and, importantly, efficient in the morning rush. Most days, even with a long-ish line, I’m in and out, bagel in hand, efficiently and expeditiously. I go old-school here: honey grain bagel, toasted, with peanut butter(which they put in a little cup on the side, because of allergies I presume). The mug club seems like it’s probably a good deal if you come in as much as I do, but wasn’t sure I could extract the full value from it so I didn’t purchase this year.

Slow service. This place is not managed well. I went in on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at around 10:00 am. There was only one person being waited on at the bagel counter. A woman took my order — put the bagel in the toaster. She proceeded to wait on another customer whilst my bagel was in the toaster — makes sense. Here’s where it stops making sense to me — she waited on this person completely before grabbing my bagel from the toaster. During that time another employee was not waiting on anyone, he walked right by the toaster where my bagel was getting cold. He did not retrieve it. I proceed to the check out — there’s a line. One guy is sweeping and the woman behind the counter is making coffee, not getting someone a cup. She is cutting open the coffee bags to put in the machines while people are waiting. The guy in front of me orders a coffee. Whilst she waits for the coffee to pour, she starts making more coffee. At that point, I am thinking that the guy in front has not paid her yet. Instead of waiting on me while the coffee was being poured, she made to pots/urns of coffee. I will not be back — took to long. I was on my way to work. This is the second time something like this has happened, so I won’t be back.

I just HAD to put this review up, right now. And it’s not because I am going to critique food, even… I wanted to use Unilocal for my favorite purpose, which is celebrating awesome people. I just went and picked up a sandwich, pretty routine. But Josh made my food, and was such a ray of sunshine and such an awesome person. I saw him chatting and making the woman in front of me smile, and when he got to me he took the time to point out how fresh and awesome the ingredients were, to the point that he carefully picked out the best tomatoes for my sandwich and showed them to me to share in their awesomeness. The he checked in to make sure he put the amount of onions I liked, and we chatted a little bit, and it ended with me saying I was excited for my sandwich and happy. He said, «I like making people happy!» So Bruegger’s, give this guy a raise, a day off, whatever. He was so bright and cheerful and lovely, and he just made my day!

It’s a quick service joint so I shouldn’t have much to complain about, except for the fact that a lox and bagel with cream cheese will run you about $ 7 and change. For that sort of pricing I do expect much more, somewhat in service and absolutely in quality. This location, falls just short of that expectation. Admittedly, the line always moves quickly, even during a rush. Staff and managers are generally friendly and intent on getting your order in and getting you back to your desk expeditiously. If this were the only things of importance, then I wouldn’t feel the need to highlight that there is often a lack of attention to special details. If you order one of the breakfast sandwiches and want a different kind of bagel other than plain, make sure they hear you; make eye contact and make sure they understand what you meant. In their haste they will forget. Same for flavored cream cheese. Little care is given to flavor distribution, so if you see those capers piled up in one section of the bagel, call them out on it; it won’t be a very pleasing bite. You see, it’s not a bad location, but far from great, and at $ 10 for a full breakfast, I really want to see some better quality and attention to detail. Eye contact couldn’t hurt either.

Love the square bagels. However the girls behind the counter need to stop chatting and eating yogurt to pay attention to the customers who need to get their food and get back to the office. I think it took 7 minutes for the girl to slice the bagel and ask me 4 times about cream cheese flavor.

I’m a big fan of Bruegger’s overall since they have a lot of healthy options like cutting your bagel skinny, and offer egg whites and turkey sausage. However, I am not a fan of the staff at this location. They are very rude to you when you order something that is not a combo that they normally make and ask you several times for your order over and over in a very not nice tone. I’ve found this is just the staff actually making the sandwiches. Once you go to the counter the checkout staff don’t always seem to be the brightest(I always get the same exact breakfast and coffee and have been charged different random amounts on several occasions), but at least they are nice. The coffee is also not too terrific, pretty burned. Probably better to go to sbux and then just get the bagel from here, but i’m usually in such a rush that I suck it up and deal w’ the burnt coffee. Overall though, they really just need to get some friendlier staff. You would think when a place does their most business in the AM they’d try to have their better staff working then!

I love this spot! The bagels are always fresh and delicious. Not to mention, I’ve fallen in love with their iced coffee. Nothing better than a iced French vanilla in the middle of the day. But what keeps bringing me back is how friendly the staff is. They are great. I always walk out with a smile on my face.

Love their vanilla and hazelnut coffee flavors — not to mention their price. Decided to give their food a try and go with their panini. They are advertising two new chicken paninis and I went with the soutwest and have to say it was good for when I had it. Nothing earth shattering, but good for downtown lunch food VERY close to where you work. In short, I’ll probably find myself back here at some point… at the least for more coffee. God knows I’ll need it. Plus.they have wireless! woohoo!

Burnt onions, meh coffee, no flavored creamer. This isn’t the Brueggers of Corona Del Mar, CA, that’s for sure. But I suppose that’s what I get for moving to the east coast. Snow and burntness. On the plus side, the employees were very friendly and the girl who smeared my bagel was very precise about the amount of cream cheese she put smuthered on. And free wifi. Nobody’s complaining about that. Too bad you can’t eat the Wifi and browse the meh coffee.

We actually had a nice experience in Bruegger’s when we visited Boston in 1998.(Yeah, I know — 10 years ago.) It was a fast-food type bagel joint, but it was clean and the bagels — back then at least — were fresh and still warm. It was really cheap, too.

I hate Bruegger’s so much. They make mediocre bagels and the absolute worst cream cheese I have ever had. Even Finagle-A-Bagel is better. It is no wonder they failed in the town I grew up in(after putting the good local bagel shop out of business first, of course). I would rather go to a local bakery, in a city there are so many other options.
