Now accepts Visa and MasterCard. Other than that, nothing to see here, people. Keep on movin’ on!

I can’t believe that I’m actually writing a review and giving this place a good rating… I’ve been coming here for doc visits the past two months and always look forward to the chicken parm over pasta for only $ 6.40 — you cannot beat that price for a decent sized portion of chicken, pasta, mozarella cheese, marinara sauce, and garlic bread. I actually look forward to it! You get this in the same line as the pizza. I got the pizza once and was very disappointed. The slice was cold and hard, even though it was sitting in the pizza spinner. The last time I went, the cafeteria was serving chicken parm over pasta in the main entrée line for only $ 5.00 — I couldn’t believe my eyes! I wondered why it was cheaper than the one served at the pizza station. Upon devouring my lunch, I noticed that it was a smaller piece of chicken and that it didn’t come with a piece of garlic bread. Overall, I think the prices are fairly reasonable here. It is a hospital cafeteria…

An interesting cafeteria where some things are overpriced and others are a good deal. The food quality also varies with some items being very«hospital food» and others quite well made. In the seating area tables are not always wiped down as often as they should be. If you get the pizza before it has been sitting a while, it is not bad but the sausage has very little spice which is okay if you are a patient on a restricted diet but not a visitor rating the food!

Every time I go in here I think maybe I’ll find something that looks delicious to order. And every time I have not. Oatmeal, once. And the other time an odwalla bar cause seriously I had to eat something. I have obtained food for patients, tho, and the pricing is so arbitrary… some sandwiches are more expensive than others for what seems like no reason. You will always wait in a long line, and you you may wonder where you’re supposed to be. And the most likely the cashier won’t be friendly. At least they have a toaster you can use for your brought bagel from home.

I’ve eaten in the BWH cafeteria more times than I count, but only because I work there and I don’t make enough money to go to Au Bön Pain everyday. I am continually surprised at the low-quality food that this cafeteria serves, particularly because it is in a hospital. The soups are laughable(looks like they’re made with canned vegetables), the grill is a heart attack waiting to happen(‘nacho’ cheese? seriously? cheese fries at a hospital? bacon cheese burgers as a special?), and the sandwiches feature low-quality meat/cheese/vegetables and terrible bread. If you’re in any hospital in the Longwood Area, I suggest hitting up the amazing cafeteria at Children’s Hospital. Forget the Brigham!

I eat here for the occasional lunch. This particular hospital cafeteria food is lot better than most, I’ve been to them all. BBQ ribs with bacon cheddar mashed potatoes and also the Bourbon glazed ribs and candy sweet potatoes, is fantastic! Its just the right flavor, price, and portion. I don’t even go out to drop $ 20 for ribs anymore. Macaroni and cheese, heavenly, this is no blue box version, this is mom’s best, creamy, cheesy, and crispy cracker crust. $ 2 ! Eggplant Parmesan, is delicious, a little oily, but still delicious. Chicken parmesan. The portion its enormous! $ 4 and change. Egg sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes on rye bread, better than anyone. Usually I dry heave if I see it somewhere else. Not here. Chicken pot pie, not your frozen kind. I usually skip this like forever, but one day I peeked at it and gave it a try, to my surprise I was sold. Now remember this is hospital food, we are not talking Mistral or Oak Room which are some of my favorites. But this food was surprisingly good, that I forgot it came from the hospital. This beats that repulsive food court in Longwood Medical Area.

Not so bad as far as hospital cafeterias go. The salad bar is ok, and despite the small space, there is a good bit of variety. My favorite food is a great steak and cheese sub at the grill station that you can get after 3 pm. The pizza is also decent, but there is often a line at that station, since they have subs and pizza, so it’s never a quicker option. It’s convenient, but almost as expensive as AuBonPain.

Well, what can youi say about hospital food. The same goes for hospital cafeteria food. I’m familiar with this cafeteria because I work near by and believe me this is the cheapest place to get lunch around Brigham Circle. I can’t really complain about getting a big fat deli sandwich on a feresh roll withe chips, a pickle and a foutnain soda for 4.25. If you want to eat on the sneaky down low and save your fun money for Friday night, dismiss the Au Bön Pain in the lobby and head up to the second floor. You can also get a dirt cheap salad, soup or slice of OK pizza.
