Egomaniac. This owner Marek thinks himself Annie Liebowitz… only wants to deal with very big companies and has no respect for the rule of thumb in business, to treat all customers as though they are important and matter. Too many good professionals out there that no one should have to deal with this attitude for like product.

5 years ago I decided to try using a professional real estate photographer to take photos of the homes I have for sale. My experience with Marek and BostonRep has been so overwhelmingly positive that I have worked with them exclusively since that initial appointment. As a real estate agent, the quality of the photos I use in marketing my properties are extremely important. Many buyers will choose whether or not to see a home in person based on the feeling they get from the photos. BostonRep’s photos bring a house alive. They understand how to photographer a house so that the property shows its best. Their post production work on the photos ensures that the lighting is even. They even help out when mother nature doesn’t cooperate. I’ve been with them on a photo shoot in the pouring rain. Instead of marketing the house showing a grey, dismal sky, the exterior photos I received had a beautiful, natural looking blue sky — the perfect image to show buyers. The photographers at BostonRep are true professionals — their work is exemplary. Their turn around time is amazing — I receive the photos the very next day after the photo shoot. I know I can rely on them to be punctual for our appointments. If my client is home, they always make a great impression on my seller. My clients are so happy with the photos, many request copies to save as a reminder of their old house. I am extremely fussy about how I market the homes I put up for sale. Whenever I meet with a prospective seller, I show them samples of what some other«professional photographers» do and them show them my listings. They can easily see the difference in the quality of the photos. I explain that I use the best real estate photographers in the area — BostonRep.

Eek… Methinks not! I hired this one man show chop shop on the recommendation of a close friend who had used their photography services in the past to capture pictures of his Real Estate listings. At first glance, their work seemed quite reasonably priced, and the pictures they advertise on their website look great! All seemed promising until Marek, the owner and photographer, entered the picture. We needed, on short notice, to schedule a photoshoot for a corporate client, who wanted pictures of an office center taken in Back Bay. From the beginning it was clear Marek did not want to be bothered. I mentioned to him that he had been referred to me by a close friend who spoke highly of his work but that did not matter to Marek. He wanted his parking paid for and would not schedule a time until we obliged… fine no problem. We then had the office center staged for the photoshoot which had to be rescheduled three times because Marek couldn’t fit us in. Then finally, on the day of the photo shoot Marek emailed me in the morning to find out who would be meeting him and where, and also, more importantly who would pay him. When he didn’t hear back from me in 20 minutes(I was in a meeting), Marek threw a tantrum and told me I should find someone else to do the shoot. This was after spending thousands to stage the space, and rescheduling three times. He had already been given explicit instructions on where to go and who would be paying him. I’m not sure what Marek wanted us to do, but apparently he was not professional enough to follow instructions… all he cared about was who would be paying him; where and when. Perhaps we should have sent him a personal assistant to carry his camera bag… or maybe a catered lunch? The company he had been scheduled to shoot for was one of the more storied RE companies in the city(for the past 100 years) and needless to say he caused a tremendous amount of embarrassment for myself and others involved with the scheduling. There are hundreds of freelance photographers out there who offer similar services for comparable prices… steer clear of BostonREP and avoid the headache.
