Boston Parking Police

Someone help! I feel oppressed and victimized. I got a Boston packing violation ticked at a strange address I know nothing about on Friday (09/​04/​2015), at 11:16PM. The AVIS rental car was packed in my neighborhood at East Street, Dorchester and I was fast asleep because I was minded to drop off my sister at the University of UMass, Amherst the following morning for the Fall Semester check-​in formalities, which starts at 8:00AM. It’s strange and mysterious to have AVIS send me a packing violation ticket dated 09/​04/​2015, 11:16PM, sent by the City of Boston to them. Who gets a ticket at that odd hour of the night? It’s so painful I am so innocent. I was deep asleep and no one drove the car, except myself. I was told I have to pay for a ticket I know nothing about. I have gone through a lot of psychological stress, and I consider this a sheer act of wickedness that must not be allowed. Please how do I contest this?

you guys are rats. you literally wait until someone parks in a place you can ticket and you pounce. not lingering cars that have been there for hours but someone who literally parks for 15 minutes. you just crawl around like cockroaches and wait until you get a chance. hope you feel proud of yourselves and the great job you do for this city

Meter maids have let the power go to their heads. They are beyond ridiculous. Even when I pay the meter with my motorcycle, I get a ticket. Then they have the nerve to charge you to fight the ticket! This is borderline criminal. Why does a motorcycle have to fill up a huge 12 foot space when you can get 5 – 6 motorcycles in that one spot? How silly would it look if every meter on the street was taken up by one motorcycle? You’d have so much wasted space. Why do they bother ticketing motorcycles but don’t ticket scooters who park in the exact same spot! Every time I hear about a meter maid getting splashed with hot coffee or something, I think «Good! They deserve it.» I would never date anyone who was a meter maid too. I find out my girlfriend was a meter maid, I’d dump her so fast she’d have to write me a ticket.
Also, if you park just ahead enough so that cars can park there too, you both win. Why ticket the bike? It’s like they don’t want people to save the environment by riding bikes but promote the destruction of the ozone by making people drive their cars. Meter maids suck and can all go to hell.

I was issued two parking tickets today. One is totally my fault. The other, is ridiculous. I called the parking clerk to find out how I can pay the ticket I need to pay but handle the other one since my car IS, in fact, registered but the registry never sent me the little baby sticker that goes on my plate. If you ran the plate, you would see the car is registered. Anyway, the bigger issue is that the woman who answered the phone is THE REASON people hate Bostonians. The rudest, most condescending person I have encountered in a while. Exasperated sighs, interrupting me by saying «okay, okay, okay!» as if I were badgering her when I was only trying to explain the situation. Then she looks it up, sees it’s registered, asks me to look at the plate and tells me, as though I’m an idiot, that it’s because of the sticker in a loud, nasty tone. I could practically FEEL her eyes rolling, meanwhile, I wanted to cry. WHO pays a person to behave that way on the phone when someone has a legitimate question or concern!!! I am a woman whose place of employment shut down without warning a month and a half ago. I’m busting my butt to try to find a job and using my savings to hang in there WITH my daughter until I find work. A forty dollar ticket might not look like a big deal to the woman sitting at the job she hates so much, but to ME, it’s a huge deal. Especially since I paid the money to renew the registration. I’m sure that eventually this will get sorted out, but it’s offensive to me that there are people out there who need jobs and this nasty, hateful, rude obnoxious jackass has one that she takes for granted. Because if I had ever spoken to anyone like that at any job I’ve ever had, I would have been fired on the spot. Unacceptable.

I don’t suppose there’s any further point in complaining but when you run a public service as a profit center, the public gets screwed.

Parking should be free. Also, it’s not like you’re gonna see any POSITIVE reviews for «Boston Parking Police». Also also, this is a dumb entry in Unilocal.Welcome to, mah list.

Usually, I save one of my favorite sacred words, douche, to describe dudes… when they’re being douches. This one, however, happened to have a blonde pony tail and smug look on her face as she tapped on my window to hand me a ticket… as I was pulling away in my car!
Apparently, you can’t put more money on your meter after your 2 hours is up, which I did. I was pulling out still with 45 minutes still left on my meter, from when I previously re-​fed it. The ticket bitch came over to my car after I had already gotten in it to scribble out a quick ticket before I pulled out!

Anyone know if meter maids sit in unmarked cars??? As I circled the theater district for the hundredth time on a Saturday evening. I finally eye the perfect spot. There is no greater feeling no better resolution to the mounting stress then realizing u have found a spot and even though the snow bank has made it smaller u can still fit. There is a man sitting in a car I’m front of me with the car on and the window cracked. My friend gets out and kindly asked him if he could move up a bit to make it easier for me to pull in. There was a dark tint to the black suv and livery plates. I returned to my car an hour later with the black suv still running and thean still in it. Displayed in my windshield was the neon orange instint buzz kill. «residents only «parking $ 40. How did I miss that! As I drove away I couldn’t help to think the auther of the ticket was none other then the man in the suv. I’ll never know I guess. But i say to the next person beware!

Boston Parking Police — I hate you! First, because you gave me a ticket for not moving my car fast enough for the dumb street cleaner. I see those sleazy Todisco guys waiting to tow all the cars at 7:59AM every Friday. he was about to do the same to my car but I ran out just in time… to see I already had the idiotic $ 40 ticket.
But today’s ticket takes the cake. You actually erased the crosswalk — by you I mean the city — making me think it is gone. But no — it is apparently a ‘phantom cross walk’ and even though my car was in the spot FIVE days I got ticketed today. Hmmmm…

Dear Boston Parking Police,
When I got into my car last night after attending the swankiest of swanky Unilocal Elite Events, I was so grateful that I found a parking space so close to Aura Restaurant in the lovely Seaport Hotel. My fiancé was the driver to the event and I was the driver home. We chose a space that was walking distance to said event. I don’t even recall even thinking about paying for the meter as it was 7pm and well, the meters in «that» area all shut off at 6pm. Or, was I wrong? Either way, you need to PROMINENTLY display the parking hours with a SIGN instead of just a METER.
It was fah-​reezing out and I just wanted to run into my lil car, turn the heat on high and get home at a reasonable hour. I was on a high! I was feeling goooood! Then I see a ticket prominently displayed under my windsheild wiper.
I motioned to my fiancé to take the ticket off the car. I was also uttering George Carlin’s 7 Dirty Words.
$hit, piss, *uc!, &unt, c*ocks*cker, m%th%rf*cker, and tits. I can say tits, right? Oh, and piss. Well then, TITS and PISS! PISS and TITS!
Bottom line, Hacks:
Post proper signage.
Of course, I’ll pay the 25 beans that you oh so desperately need. But, can I designate that my hard earned cash go towards FIXING the potholes that are rampant?

So let me get this straight.
I have 21 days to pay my ticket without a late fee.
But YOU have 30 days to submit tickets to your office.
So basically, when I go online on day 20 to pay my bill technically «on time» and you hadn’t submitted the ticket yet, you basically f*cked me out of 15 bucks as the ticket wasn’t registered in the system.
I understand the purpose of your job, but not the rationale of your policies.

i put my measly little quarters in the cursed meter, check my watch (5:53), and make a run for it. shit, there’s so much to do. marc jacobs, h & m, sonsie, filene’s basement, making fun of tourist outfits in my mind– next thing i know, i’m looking at things i can’t afford in stil and it hits me: the time. it’s it’s 7:50.
«the meters stop at 8, it’ll be fine» you say. horse-​shit. this is life and death.
i run like hell. i am sprinting in 3 inch heels. i’m sweating in a dolce & gabbana blouse that i mortgaged my house for. i knock over a small child. i keep going. i narrowly escape death by an escalade. i press on. senior citizens, field trips, mini-​schnauzers– nothing can stand in my way.
my car comes into view.
there it is. that abomination of an orange rectangle on my windshield. i look at my watch. 7:56.

Boston meter maids (especially in or around Copley) are the bottom of the Boston Municipal Food Chain.
Here’s the job description:
Monitor parking meters. Keep eyes peeled for drivers who pull into spots with 0:00 left on the meter. Watch them as they frustratingly scrounge around their car for five to ten minutes looking for a quarter or anything that could possibly pass as a quarter. Start writing up the ticket. Watch the driver get out of their car, pull a dollar bill out of their wallet and wave it frantically around as they desperately look for a store that provides change. As they awkwardly run into the store that will probably provide them with quarters, run over and issue the ticket so they have no chance at catching you. Run away before they have the chance to argue the ticket. Find next victim. Repeat.
