Chowda! Chowdah! Since I am not a native of Boston, I knew before I left I had to have a bowl. I did not expect to have a delicious bowl of chowder in a mall food court. But, folks, hear me out. It was one of the best bowls of chowder I had in Boston. The service was not all that friendly — but at lunch time, I would hardly expect«service with a smile» attitude. The line was quite long, but the wait was well worth it. Considering the hefty price tag, I found out later it was actually a decently good deal for a bowl in the area. The meat chunks were small but overall i loved the creamy texture.

The clam chowder here was delicious. They added a bit too many potatoes for my liking, thus making the chowder thicker with the starch, but the flavor was great. They are quite generous with the clams as well, which is nice. The lobster roll was good, but not the best I’ve had. I didn’t really like their mayo sauce, and the lettuce they used was not that fresh. However, the bread they used on the roll was perfectly toasted. Boston Chowda Co is the best it gets for a food court restaurant, and the clam chowder is comparable to the one I had at Atlantic Fish Co. at a better value. Would recommend stopping by for a quick bite for your lobster roll /clam chowder combo fix!

Can’t give it 5 stars since it’s in a Food Court at a Mall, but the food here is damn good. It would be good even if it wasn’t in a food court, and wasn’t as cheap as it is here. Seriously, I had my doubts but this place rocks. I was tempted by the«Lobster Pie» and Lobster Mac n Cheese, but my already almost-full stomach forced me to go for the Lobster Bisque in a Bread Bowl(I know, such a downgrade, right?). At first, I was a little disappointed as there weren’t any big chunks of Lobster in the soup that I’m used to. However, the soup still had the Lobstery-buttery taste we all love. It was creamy and delicious, and the bread bowl was the perfect complement. It was just what I was in the mood for. I also heard great things about their Lobster Roll and Clam Chowder(a?). Fresh Lobster in a food court? It happens in Boston, I guess. Us Wisconsin folk will just have to remain satisfied with our Rocky Roccoco’s and McDonalds.

This was at the food court of the mall. It was ok taste and price wise. Nothing really to rave about. The chowder was a little more runny than I’m used to. The lobster roll was not bad; however, I had another one later on that had less mayo or whatever it is they use. This one was a slightly heavier. Not a must go. I only stopped by because it was in the area and I needed to eat.

I was visiting Copley with a friend one day and decided to have lunch at the food court. I spotted this spot in the back and was excited to try the clam chowder. There were too many potatoes in it. I prefer a smoother chowder but theirs tasted OK. Service was average.

This is a food stand in the Prudential Mall that serves decent lobster rolls and chowders! I got the lunch combo once with a large lobster roll and clam chowder and it was only twenty something… way cheaper than the lobster rolls at other places! The quality of the meat wasn’t all claw either! I like that the dressing was light and it was really filling. The clam chowder was also creamy and delicious! Perfect for the cold Boston days! I normally don’t like food from the food court, but I give this place a thumbs up!

Overall good chowder. I have better like legal seafoods. But I wanted to try. On to the next.

This is the first time I’ve been back since the lumpy eyelash incident. Today, my bisque tasted like dish soap. Yay! Won’t be going back. Worth the trip to Fanneuil for much better bisque.

The food here was surprisingly good… almost great. I had a lobster roll which was really good. The roll itself was toasted just right and was buttery and delicious. The lobster was piled high(not as high as other places), tender and dressed well. The flavor was good, but a little bland for my taste. The clam chowder was good but a little thin for my taste. Overall, I’d give it 4 stars… It’s not the best lobster roll PR clam chowder I’ve had, but it’s still worth stopping at if you’re in the mall(And definitely the best option).

Well I must say, I would never have expected to get a tasty dish in a food court at mall. But given my eternal trust in Unilocal,I went with with Boston Chowda despite some apprehension. I was intrigued by the idea of having lobster bisque served inside a roll of bread, so I went with that. Ended up being pretty good and overall enjoyable. The bisque could have been a bit more seafoody and had a few more lobster chunks, but given my original lowered expectations, this place still outperformed. Definitely not nearly as good as some of the bisque or chowder that I’ve had elsewhere, but definitely worth seeking out if in the mall.

I only truly ever eat two things here: Lobster roll and Lobster bisque. It have never let me down and shall be my go to comfort food! Yes I’m lobster-roll obsessed and have had my fair share of Lobster roll in Boston and around the states. If I can truly rate them, it would be fair if I could get all the lobster rolls in one day and taste them right there to give you a FINAL Rating, but that is but a futile dream of a broke college student. So I will do it from my recollection: This place Lobster roll is bomb. It’s self is a damn shinning 5 star out of 5. The roll is slightly sweet and it carries big chunks of lobster meat in its sleeve and hug it close but not too tightly. Eating one is about self-control, because without it I would be order 3 and cramming down my face. Literally so distraught from getting out of exam my body just carry me to the Pru so I can cheer myself up with some lobster roll. The favor is on point and everything sings well together. I truly believe this is one of my favorite place for lobster roll so far. Yes it’s in a fricken food court. Go figure. Faneuil Hall also have a BCC but this one is much closer to me. Plus I can skip the lines and the wait here since no one know the secret about this awesome lobster roll yet. Muhahaa. Lobster bisque is really good also, just something that’s really comforting for post-exam trauma I’ve tried the Lobster MacnCheese once, it was really really rich and filling I could barely eat all of it. I think the price for the combo is perfect. No complains. Most of the time the server are quite nice and make my food quickly :) Overall, I’ve limited my self to coming here once a week. You know too much lobster roll increase your LDL and what not.

I stayed in Boston at the Sheraton for eight days. I’m pretty sure I had lunch at Boston Chowda seven out of those eight days. Interestingly, the lobster roll wasn’t my favorite. The pile of lettuce at the base of the roll was off-setting. The guy who clearly runs things at the ordering counter even gave me extra lobster, and it was good, but like I said, not my favorite. My favorites were the lobster mac and cheese pie and the chicken Caesar wrap. The lobster mac and cheese was coated in a buttery, crumbled Ritz cracker crust, and the interior was a cheesy, gooey, pile of al dente pasta and lumps of lobster. I believe it was the claw meat, which was succulent and sweet and every bit as delicious as I had imagined. For the price, which I think was maybe $ 12? you get a lot of lobster. These Chowda guys aren’t stingy. I also highly recommend the chowda, because duh, and the lobster bisque. Silky smooth, sweet, savory and creamy, it was wonderful when I didn’t have lobster as my main dish. Lobster all day errday in Boston, Huzzah!

If you want your lobster roll/clam chowder fix, this definitely gets the job done. Price — Relatively cheap. For a jumbo lobster roll and medium cup of clam chowder, it cost $ 23.19. Quality — The clam chowder could be a little richer. But honestly, for food court chowder, it’s pretty good. I’ve just had so much clam chowder in Boston that I’m going to say it’s mediocre. It was more watery and had more potato than others that I’ve tried. The lobster roll had large chunks of lobster in it. I liked that it didn’t have a lot of mayo, and the roll was perfectly toasted and not too buttery. Overall, it was a good way to eat a lobster roll, but the lobster seemed to be missing some flavor. The staff was really nice and helpful, and when I told my friend that I would pay(since we were going to dinner after and this was an appetizer) the man at the counter said«LETHIMPAY.» And my friend did pay. They know how to treat the ladies!

I had two lunches here while attending a conference in the Sheraton next door. First time I got the lobster roll special($ 17?) which was a large lobster roll, cup of soup(I got New England clam) and drink. Oh, and slaw too! This is a great deal. The lobster roll was every bit as good as the $ 23 one I had a few days later at the Barking Crab. Soup was excellent. The other time I had lunch I got a small cup of the lobster bisque.($ 3.99?). Another bargain. Rich lobster flavor with a couple of good sized chunks. I wish we had this chain in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Hands down the best Lobster roll I have ever had! Don’t go to the one in Quincy market because they are lazy there. HERE at Prudential shops! Warm garlicky crunchy brioche bun, large pieces of tail meat and no extra fillers other than mayo and small piece of lettuce. The actual Chowder is meh, I would not call it bad but, it is nothing memorable and still believe we have the best chowders in SEATTLE! $ 18 for the roll, soup and drinks sounds expensive in a food court but, it is better than any sit down restaurant one I have had. Plus much better service!(yes I am looking at you UNIONOYSTER!)

Decent clam chowder from the mall food court! And really nice service! Friend got the lobster roll special. I didn’t taste it, but it looked good — and she smashed it!

Delicious. Real. Mmm. I got a tiny bowl, but I seriously wanted more… even though I was already full from my previous meal. I should have saved more room for this delicious soup. The potatoes weren’t mushy, but good chunky. The clams were fresh, but wasn’t overwhelmingly«ocean taste». Perfect.

This branch off the chain is located conveniently at the food court in the Shops at the Prudential center mall. The food is consistently good… Fresh made sandwiches and pre made soups. They are most famous for their clam chowder. The deal: be sure to check out the daily special, Which is always the best deal in the house, and sometimes the best deal in the food court!

Stopped here for lunch and ordered half a turkey wrap and the clam chowder. I thought that the chowder(chowda?) was sooo good, it’s perfect for warming my soul. The turkey wrap was honestly nothing special, but I liked the soup so much that I got just that for lunch again the next day. Would love to find something similar in LA. Really friendly staff and quick service!
