I went here for lunch. I got the Chicken Teriyaki lunch special which was $ 5.95 and $ 6.37 after tax. I met the owner who was very enthusiastic and also friendly. He was very focused on customer service. One customer wanted his miso soup to go, rather than just giving that person a bag, he gave the person a bag and also extra miso soup. Food Rating — 3⁄5. The Rice was good, the vegetable was good, and the portions is huge. I wished the chicken could have been done better. The person cooking it, warmed the chicken on the grill and then added the sauce. I wish the chicken was marinated in teriyaki overnight and then put on the grill rather than combining the chicken and the sauce on the grill. Also, fat on the chicken. Service — 5⁄5. Got my food quickly, didn’t have to wait in line. Value — 5⁄5. This is just for the chicken teriyaki special. Overall Rating — 3.5÷5 In terms of value, the chicken teriyaki special is the best around the area. The only other place that can compete in terms of getting a good lunch at a reasonable price is viva burrito.

Incredibly slow service, quick to take your money but no urgency on actually making your order, oh real quick to put up the tip cup… I’ve been waiting 15 minutes now for a lunch special and I still don’t have it. Guy is now petrified of me for speaking up and asking if they are going to be paying for my time I’m missing from work. I’m the only customer right now… 20 minutes now … It’s sushi btw, slice slice build, done … Usually 10 minutes… Been here 5 times and they just get worse each time, possibly last time. Okay just got my food, 25 minutes … He looks at me and says sorry … Ya thanks pal I’m now going to be late getting back to work … Epic fail.

I work across the street and consider myself to be somewhat of a «regular»(once or twice per month). I’ve allowed some time for growing pains and enough repeat visits to make a fair assessment. THEGOOD: The $ 5.95 Chicken Teriyaki special is a great value. Good portion, and far better quality than the chain food court variety found in malls nationwide. Orders under $ 10 are cash only, so be prepared. It’s tasty and cheap. Tough to beat. Portions on everything are pretty great, actually. I usually get the 2 maki lunch special which is two maki rolls(much better selection than neighboring restaurants), house salad(ginger dressing), and miso soup(giant tub of it) for $ 11.99. I’m a grown man and never meet a portion too large, but I rarely ever finish all of it. It’s a great value. THEBAD: I’ve yet to go in and have a good customer service experience or pick up an order without a hiccup. I’m not expecting 3-star Michelin service, but there’s a language barrier(also not a big problem) and minor things(i.e. first-time eat24 discount brings total to $ 11.50 yet their slip says $ 12.79) end up being a struggle(though they’ve almost always been worked out in the end– it just shouldn’t happen so frequently). They’re still the new kids on the block, so I expect some problems, but the latest experience(today– 9⁄28) was the straw that broke the camels back for me. There hasn’t been improvement and I actually feel a slide in quality and service. In addition to today’s order being priced incorrectly on their end(they adjusted, but it should’t happen so often), my combo was missing the salad and one of the rolls(yellowtail and scallion) tasted so awful that I threw it away. The fish was way too old. I’ve had this happen once with their salmon(which is a fish that can turn fast) and wrote it off as an aberration. My tuna roll lacked much tuna. I didn’t go back and ask for a refund or demand a salad because I could have checked the bag(which is stapled shut) before I left and I didn’t, so some of that’s on me; but I shouldn’t have to worry about that. It’s a popular combo and it’s the second time this has happened to me. I wish Blue Fuji the best, but there are nearby options that may cost a little more or lack the variety but they’re a safer bet. I’m done eating there.

Such an amazing spot! I am very picky when it comes to sushi and I don’t like seaweed. I’ve been to many places asking if they can make it without seaweed and has always gotten no. The guys at blue Fuji had no issues using no seaweed and were so sweet. Definitely my new hot spot!

First time visit. Tried the snow mountain maki. While it was a bit pricey for the amount of food, it was really tasty. I enjoyed it. The sushi chef was pleasant and engaging. The cashier was hasty and abrupt.

How exciting to see a new sushi spot in my neighborhood! Ok, so technically Blue Fuji just replaced the old sushi place in this location, but since I never got past the not-so-inviting look of Ueno Fusion I have no idea what it was like. Blue Fuji caught my eye with the new blue sign and catchy words like«healthy,» «all natural» and«organic.» On my first(and only, so far) visit, I got the Soft Shell Crab appetizer — four scrumptious pieces of tempura-fried SSC on a bed of lettuce with a zesty soy/rice vinegar dipping sauce — and the Spicy Yellowtail Naruto Makimono — 6 large pieces of chopped yellowtail mixed with spicy mayo, avocado and roe wrapped inside thinly sliced cucumber. Each dish running about $ 10, it wasn’t exactly cheap, but then again I wasn’t exactly ordering cheap ingredients. Well worth the price imo! The SSC app was my favorite of the two, delightful crunchy outside and gooey inside. The roll tasted great, but was a bit difficult to pick up due to the slippery cucumber wrapper. Other than that, though, top notch. The place is tiny and a bit odd to get to, sandwiched in between a Dunkin Donuts and Uptown Café(literally, it doesn’t have it’s own door to the street). A handful of stools at the window counter, but you’re probably best off taking your food to go. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially if you have questions about the menu. Also, free delivery within a 2 mile radius. Looking forward to my next visit! I have high hopes that I will soon be a Blue Fuji regular.
