Cute little family run place(it seems) This place was actually suggested to me over dunkin donuts or 7 – 11 and yay for that. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a roll… I was confused as to why the eggs weren’t scrambled, I don’t maybe that’s not the standard in Boston lol I wish I wasn’t in a rush to catch a bus back to NY so I could’ve had a real thorough breakfast, they have a lot to offer

7 of us got together for a quick lunch. The food was good. The service great. The price was more than reasonable. And the owner was a sweetheart. This will become one of my regular stops for lunch.

One of the last remaining family owned diners left in the south end. Friendly staff with home style honest food served on paper plates. Place is old with little charm. Popular with construction workers and old time south Enders. Nice change from the gentrified and more pricey establishments now populating the area. Good for breakfast or lunch if you happen to be in the neighborhood and want basic Greek diner fare.

Recommended by concierge at my hotel. Basic, fast, friendly, good food. Cheap — been there for breakfast 3 days in a row. Loved it.

Whatever you get, don’t try the meatball spaghetti. Most boring overcooked spaghetti I’ve had in a long time, and you can just taste that the sauce was right out of a can Don’t get the hype, pretty average place, at best

Such an incredible place run by a really nice family. It’s a diner full if cops and firefighters so you know it’s great. Super family friendly. Have the curbed beef hash.

This place is straight up legit, no matter if breakfast or the boss turkey dinner or sub! Portions are really good and they are fast and organized. Gets tight during lunch hours but definitely worth it.

Best lunch deal in town. The go to is a small Billy salad which is a garden salad with grilled chicken I get that with feta and a side of hummus. It comes with dressing which is amazing and pita bread. If you’re in the Back Bay and looking for a great lunch at a great price Billy’s is the place to go!

A very reliable sub shop. Been eating/ordering here for 20+ years. Their Greek salad is one of the best; my guilty pleasure is their seasoned fries. For breakfast, the blueberry pancakes are definitely recommended.

Sorry, but I’m not really seeing the hype about this place. I came here with my boyfriend for brunch due to all the raving reviews, but honestly this is just typical diner food. I’m actually confused why this place has a 4.5 star rating? The place is affordable, yes, but it’s not like standard breakfast food should be pricier than this anyway. We get in, the restaurant is pretty much a typical diner, which is fine – I’m not the classiest individual out there or anything. I ordered an omelette and my boyfriend ordered what I think was the steak tip sub. My omelette wasn’t the best omelette I’ve ever had or anything, but the portion was large and I was full afterwards. I didn’t really like the home fries that came with it though, and I love potatoes with all of my heart. It just wasn’t that flavorful. My boyfriend, however, was genuinely confused after getting his meal. What he ended up with is pretty much a Philly cheesesteak. Sorry, but when did steak tip turn out to be shredded beef? It was literally just like a Philly cheesesteak, but worse because he didn’t get it with cheese. Whatever, he ate it anyway because he’s not a very picky individual, but we kind of had some sort of expectations and it just wasn’t met.

Yup there is still a cheap eats friendly place in the South End. Leftover from the pre-gentrification era Billy’s offers a taste of the old South End good food with reasonable prices. Really nice people who recognize you when you return. Enjoy.

Go to place for a quick bite to eat. Their muffins are AMAZING. Ask for it grilled, you won’t be sorry. Breakfast sandwiches are a solid choice. As for lunch, their gyros are surprisingly delicious! Friendly service. Seems like a family owned business so always happy to support them.

If you like hole-in-the-wall places, Billy’s is for you. The store sign is faded and the interior décor isn’t exactly what I would call«inviting», but their perfectly crisp on the outside but fall-apart soft on the inside corn muffin is TODIEFOR(not to mention HUGE). I love the muffins here and even though I try to persuade myself that it’s time to try something new… I always end up ordering the corn muffin. I am detracting one star because their coffee is always so watery, but there’s a 7 – 11 right next door, so no biggie!

I love Billy’s. The food is homemade, comforting and you can’t beat the prices. Breakfast here is the best. I can get an entire diner style breakfast for just over $ 5! Lunch is not bad either, but I always come to Billy’s for their breakfast. Best breakfast options: Corned beef hash with eggs, home fries and toast TOASTED muffin(warm, crispy, buttery and just delicious) Pretty quick service and the lady who usually takes my order is so cute! She doesn’t talk much during rush hours obviously, but she’s super friendly and makes jokes when there’s some leisure time haha. It’s a hole in the wall, but Billy’s has definitely gotten more popular over the past few months. People are discovering cheap and high quality food here!

Went here with a friend to grab a bite for lunch since I work in the area. We were there during the lunch rush so we waited in the quick-moving line and both ordered the chicken specials. The special came with a piece of chicken and potatoes with greek salad and pita. The portion of food was a decent size and came at a reasonable price(around $ 10). The service at this place is very friendly and they treat their customers well. There always seems to be a place to seat inside but can be a bit crowded at times. Definitely an option worth checking out for lunch in the neighborhood.

Not impressed on my most recent experience. As you’ll read in my original review, I’m a big fan of the meatball sub, which Billy’s had seemingly mastered. Well. Not this time. I was very disappointed with my lunch today. The bread came soggy. The red sauce was metallic tasting(lacking spice) and the meatballs were borderline disgusting. I actually had to spit a bite out and forfeit the end of one sub I was so disgusted. It tasted — OFF. Not fresh. Bad. Frozen and thawed, then frozen and thawed again. And then microwaved. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I’m pretty sad because I love this sub from Billy’s. I’m hoping it was just an off day, but I have to report it — it was that bad. I don’t know if they were cutting corners or saving costs, but whatever it was that made this sub so bad was really not worth it. I will order from them again — but if it’s just as bad next time, that will be my last time ordering at Billy’s…
