This review is being written on behalf of my first experience at this particular location a couple months ago. I walked in less than an hour before closing and knew that I would probably have to rush to look for the two outfits I needed for my birthday. As I was looking around(appearing quite lost and confused) a sales associate walked up to me and asked if she could help me find anything. I explained my situation to her that I was under some stress on the hunt for two perfect birthday dresses. She started taking me around the store and slowly got the drift of what I liked. We then soon collected quite a handful of dresses and I figured it was about time to try them on. Every two outfits I was checked on and asked if I needed a diff size or even a pair of heels to try on with my outfits. I felt like the sales associate helping me was giving me honest feedback about whether the outfits flattered me or not and with the help of persistency I left happy with two beautiful dresses! I can’t remember whom helped me but I do recall her name started with an H and she was Asian I believe. Couldn’t thank her enough for her help!

Pretty vast selection for a bebe but truly obnoxious staff, especially the manager who wouldn’t help ring up 2 customers who were clearly waiting at the *empty* cash register, but instead called an already busy employee from the dressing rooms to assist. Poor form, especially in front of customers. Have been in twice and each time underwhelmed by rude staff. Head elsewhere on Newbury for a plethora of cute shops and friendly staff.

I was given a $ 50 gift card here as a gift. I won’t comment on the merchandise, we all know it is what it is. I will comment on the obnoxious customer service though. Within a minute of picking up a bracelet from a display table I was asked«Can I put that up at the register for you». Calm down, I didn’t go to your store in a $ 1200 coat to steal your $ 30 bracelet set. But fine, take it. It would have probably turned my hand green anyway. I then walked over to another jewelry display only to have another associate follow me over and offer to «help» me pick up a bracelet from a table. These girls act like they are protecting the hope diamond, not gold plated nonsense. So I get to the register and ask for the bracelet and a few pairs of earrings that had been taken up to the register for me, you know, for safekeeping. And low and behold, they weren’t there. The associate went and got them from the very display table I had taken them off off. Did she just wait until my back was turned and then but them right back after taking them out of my hand? Seriously? My total was $ 55.25. I handed the cashier the gift card and a $ 5 bill and a $ 1 bill. I said«there is $ 50 on the gift card, and I would like to pay the rest in cash». Inexplicably, she rings it up, applying the $ 6 first then swiping the card, then hands me the receipt and the gift card and says«there is $ 0.75 left on the gift card». What? Why would you not apply the gift card and then apply the cast to the balance and just give me 75 cents back. Clearly, not a large sum of money but it was just SO stupid. Had she been polite, or even cordial instead of rude and argumentative I would have had no problem letting it go. But as she tried to tell me it was my fault because I didn’t know the balance of the card so she applied the cash first(Not only completely untrue as I told her there was $ 50 on it, but it also doesn’t make any sense) I decided I would wait for her to correct the transaction and give me my change. She showed me my receipt that says that $ 49.25 had been applied to the card and says«see! there was only $ 49.25 on the card» Are you kidding me? A receipt doesn’t EVER show the amount that was on the card. It showed how much was applied from the card. Because she processed the cash first, the balance was applied to the card. Not rocket science. I’m thinking either 1) Im in the twilight zone 2) This girl doesn’t understand how to read a receipt from her own store 3) She is so obnoxious that she thinks its ok to just make up an absolutely absurd lie ABOUT75CENTS! She then tells me she can’t credit $ 50 to the card and start over because there was only $ 49.25 on the card to begin with and I loose my mind, take my bag and leave the store before wasting another minute of my life arguing with a compulsive liar about 3 quarters.

I’m a loyal customer to Bebe, I get all of my going out outfits from here. But today was the worst experience I’ve ever had. If you go here doing listen to the online hours because it says it closes at 8pm on a Saturday. I walked in at 7:30. The employee was very rude and gave me very rude stares, so beware she is a very sarcastic lady. Don’t go here if you ever need customer service.

Horrible service by a cashier man!(Fri 13rd) He was so rude with the customer. He may only smile at you if you come and buy stuff there. If you come there to make a return, there would be a different story. I wonder if he usually get commissions when people buy bebe’s clothing. If you dont know how to behave when working as a sale man, you should find another right job fit for you.

Ok Bebe, thanks for being a stone’s throw from my gym and thus steering me away from an actual workout and luring me in to shop. I really don’t go here often unless I need like, some crazy neon get up when my Ukrainian clubber side comes out, which is rare(ok, often). But in all seriousness, I had a very specific idea in mind of a brightly colored neon almost offensively ridiculous dress to wear when I’m in Spain this summer dancing my face off. Oh thanks Bebe, you truly deliver. There it was. Clothing aside, considering most things in there I would never normally wear in broad daylight, the service was great! Everyone was super nice and helpful, and genuine. They even sent me a handwritten postcard about a week later just simply thanking me for shopping there and to «enjoy my *adorable* dress». Unnecessary? Yes, but still nice.

I love Bebe — I have been shopping at Bebe for 5 years. This location has wonderful staff. They are very outgoing, helpful and kind. Some Bebe locations that I have been to often have a stuffy ambiance and conceited staff. This store is amazing especially the staff! I never hesitate to come into this particular location!

I LOVEBEBE! I think that I’m right on point with who their clientele is… but this store has the WORSE customer service! I was in a rush to find a dress to wear to a wedding and called to have a fitting room started. The girl who I spoke to was VERY pleasant, asked for information about my event, my size and preferences. Event asked for my shoe size so I could try looks on with heels! It was lovely up until I came in… I spoke to a gentleman regarding my pre-started fitting room. He stared at me like I had 2 heads! Then said, «sorry I don’t know about a pre-started fitting room but you’re more than welcome to browse». Not only did he not bother to ask the other employees to see if they knew about a pre-started fitting room but he didnt offer to help me himself. I started to browse but was so angered and frustrated with the situation that I left. I called French Connection with was down the street and they made sure to have my room ready for me. I wasn’t trying to be a brat. I was just in a rush. I worked retail before— I would have been an easy sell. I could have walked out with a dress, shoes, bag and even earrings but instead left disappointed. Bebe hasn’t lost me as a customer but Bebe on Newbury Street HAS!

The do have some nice dresses and sometimes skirts too. Most of the tops are to slutty for my taste, but local hookers should have no problems finding their newest outfits. The jeans are a nice cut, but quality inst that great. The shoes are unique, but extra uncomfortable. The jewelry, purses, accessories are cheap quality and way overpriced. Obviosly, do not buy no Bebe shirt or sweatpants, unless you want bebe written across your tushy. I have no idea why would anyone want to be a walking ad without getting pad, but we all have seen them. The store is clean and nicely stocked. The sales people are fake. But they do the job.
