The pastrami Reuben was good but for $ 14 it should have twice the meat. It was a little skimpy. Stick with Sam Lagrassa’s on province street if you want pastrami.

Overall the sandwich was tasty, especially the pastrami, even though the large pieces were somewhat fatty. However, the bread was not toasted, fell apart and was extremely soggy when I unwrapped it. The cheese was cold and not melted. For $ 17.00, I was expecting a monster sandwich(or at least something mildly large), but it was about the size of a sandwich that you’d make at home with grocery-store-bought bread. I don’t think I will be returning, as I can’t justify spending that amount of money for a sandwich that was just OK. If they sold the pastrami alone, I might consider buying that to make one of my own at home.

The best pastrami sandwich I have ever enjoyed. The rye bread is filled with caraway seeds and super fresh. The pastrami is delightfully seasoned and super tender. It is great to have the choice of mustards. The service is very welcoming and I can’t wait to go back.

Food: 3.5÷5.0 Service: 2.5÷5.0 Value: 2.0÷5.0 Décor: 3.0÷5.0 Overall: 3.5÷5.0 The sandwich was decent but not Sam LaGrassa-status, and for the price point you’d think they could be more generous on the pastrami. If my wallet were heavier, I’d be back if I were in the Public Market again. But living in the real world, I’d pass.

First of all the pastrami here is superb. Like others have mentioned it is not sliced but actually fresh pieces of high quality tender pastrami. All the ingredients are fresh. Very tasty. At $ 9 for a half sandwich it will set you back. Also the sandwich does not hold together as well as I had hoped. However if you are a fan of pastrami you should definitely check this place out. If a $ 13 or $ 17 sandwich is above your price range, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I used to live in Seattle so I can say that the BPM is no Pike Place, but even PP is touristy.

My husband and I have been to Beantown Pastrami twice. The first time we split the turkey sandwich and it was very good. Last week, we split the the pastrami sandwich on light rye with swiss cheese and deli mustard — it was the BEST pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had(and that’s a lot of years!)

They served me the best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had! And I’ve had them all over the country– New York, LA, San Francisco, Miami– all over. I love pastrami. This is the best!!!

I was really really looking forward to trying the pastrami here and was unfortunately disappointed. The prices are OUTRAGEOUS($ 17 for a sandwich with not even a pickle, the pickle is 50 cents extra), so I expected a New York deli size sandwich(and for it to be excellent). Sadly the sandwiches are sort of normal sizes, but the pastrami wasn’t that great. I walked by and saw that it is the thicker sliced pastrami, which I like as much as the thinner deli sliced, but the taste was just«okay» and the pastrami was so fatty in parts, that by virtue of being so thick it was chewing a piece of rubber. $ 9 for a half sandwich or $ 17 for a full for this quality pastrami really leaves something to be desired.

I am a Bostonian, living here all my life. I eat lunch out everyday, in all different parts of the City. I have had some good pastrami sandwiches in my culinary adventures. The pastrami is good here. But!!! A full sized Ruben $ 14.00 dollars and no pickle!!! The Ruben was good but certainly not the best of ever had. This was my third trip here. Each time I come to Beantown the portions get smaller and the quality goes down. The pastrami portion was skimpy not even a half an inch. which In comparison to a New York style deli where you get 3 inches of pastrami, I felt short changed. The last two times I ate there they gave a free pickle, which was very good. This time they are charging extra for a pickle. With a $ 14 sandwich I don’t think it’s too much to get a pickle spear. I will not be returning to this place.

A trip to the RMV is better with a tasty breakfast pastrami sandwich. The meat was soft and not overly salty, and the cheese, egg and bread tasted inherently fresh. As I passed the stand once my RMV appointment was done, the guy who worked there, Mike, called me over just to ask how I enjoyed it. Great good and good people. I look forward to returning for a lunchtime sandwich!

I had the $ 14 Rachel sandwich which was basically a pastrami reuben. The pastrami had a great flavor but was a little tough. The real winner at this place is the breakfast sandwich. For $ 6 you get a large sandwich(I asked for an extra egg and he threw it in for no charge) with the same great flavored pastrami. Perfection!

YUM! I eat meat, but I usually stick to chicken and seafood, so I’m not the kind of person to hear«pastrami» and get excited. Last week my coworker got a half sandwich(which is HUGE) from the Boston Public Market and brought it back to the office, and offered me a taste. At first I declined but my other coworkers tried it and loved it, so naturally I had to try it too… DELICIOUS! I don’t know what they put in their rub but it is incredibly flavorful and yummy. The meat is tender and it’s just all-around awesome. If you’re a pastrami fan, or even if you’re not, you’ve gotta try this.

I suspect that the high prices have biased the negative reviews. They may have also fixed the aforementioned bread problems. Their pastrami is outstanding. Similar in style to Katz’s except better flavor and texture probably due to the use of higher quality meat. Making pastrami like this is labor and time intensive. This isn’t the deli slice type that’s mass produced.

I finally got to try one of their pastrami sandwiches the other day, and I was disappointed. The pastrami itself is delicious, and the size of the sandwich isn’t that bad for the outrageous $ 17 price. What really ruined the sandwich is that the bread is much too soft and practically disintegrates as soon as the sandwich is made. They should either be toasting the bread, or finding a more substantial, less airy loaf to work with. The other major problem is that the pastrami isn’t sliced, but rather is cut in big chunks. Big chunks don’t work with sandwiches. When you pick it up its hard to keep it from falling apart. For the same money, you could go to LaGrassa’s and get a better pastrami sandwich and fries.

Save yourself and walk on by. Tourist trap prices for a mediocre product. For $ 9 /half sandwich you’d expect more than a cold sandwich with JUNKS(not slices) of pastrami and swiss cheese. The sandwich was thrown together by a clearly disinterested girl who acted like she was doing me a favor taking my money. An adult is rarely present so it’s completely mismanaged by three teens. No inventory management or sense of how to run a business as they continually run out of meat early each day. I won’t be back.

Is it a decent pastrami sandwich? Yes. Is it worth the steep tourist-price? I am afraid not.

First things first. The pastrami in the sandwich is amazing. Really can’t be beat. The bad is the price relative to the sandwiches you get. Last week was my first time eating here and I got the $ 9.00 portion of the sandwich. It was a good sized sandwich, not too small for the price. My coworkers and I assumed that for the full 18 dollar sandwich you must get a monster of a sandwich compared to the half. Only about an hour ago we went back and got 3 large sandwiches. All 3 sandwiches were just as big as the half sandwiches we got last week… And we are still hungry. So be aware that while the meat is great the inconsistent sandwich sizes will have you wondering what you just spent $ 20.00 on.

Yummy yummy pastrami sandwiches! I ordered the half, and as others have noted, the half is more than sufficient for one person, whole sandwich is big enough to split. This place can be a bit of a zoo during the lunch rush, but I went at an off time(after the lunch rush) and from order to getting my sandwich was 5 minutes tops. Deducting a star for one reason only — didn’t see sauerkraut being offered as an possible topping option for the sandwiches!

Pastrami: Good, but not especially so Bread: They need to toast their bread a little to protect it against the pastrami juices. Mine came out not so much as bread, as a greasy sponge. Price: Absurd. This is not a $ 17 sandwich. Service: Insanely slow. They had about 5 people working to make sandwiches, there were only about 5 people that ordered ahead of me, and it still took them 10 minutes to make my sandwich, which consisted solely of bread, mustard, cheese, and meat. Toast the bread a little, cut the price by a third or a half, and fix your sandwich assembly process, and I’ll give it another shot. Otherwise, not worth coming back.

Went to the Boston Public Market to check it out since we had heard some good things about it and wanted to see the new space. After perusing the various food options, we decided we couldn’t pass this place up. The smell of the meat was so delicious, and as we were waiting in line the manager even let me try a piece and I was hooked. We decided to split halves of the corned beef sandwich and the pastrami sandwich on light rye. The line took quite a bit of time, but that is expected for a new business on a busy afternoon. Both sandwiches were crazy good, but the pastrami definitely had the best showing – it’s no wonder why they chose that sandwich to represent their brand. The corned beef is so tender and flavorful, but the pastrami is rubbed with spices and has such a wonderful bite – I couldn’t stop eating. And this isn’t sliced meat – this is huge juicy chunks of meat that they cram together on the rye bread. Definitely the best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had. In addition to the sandwiches being very tasty, they were also very reasonably priced as a half sandwich is enough for one person and comes in under $ 10. This place is a must for anyone visiting the market that enjoys fresh, hot pastrami.
