Ashmont Nails and Spa

Ok, let me tell you a few things about myself. For one, I’m not much of a reviewer unless something is really great or really bad. In this case, it was extremely eerie. When I first walked in, there was no greet and smile, it was more like «what do you want?» As if I’m not gonna be paying for the services. But I’m adult enough to look past that. Besides, I wanted to give them a chance and that was my first mistake. I tell the owner I want a mani pedi and eyebrows done. She’s like great, pick a color. I look for a color trying to figure out if I can find a match to my OPI ‘dinner for 2′ color I had the last two weeks and obviously not every salon carries that so I go with the closest thing to it. Like a light cream. Whatever. The manager starts doing my pedi and she freakin stabs my 2^nd toe (I have the scar to prove it) then she tells me to go to the front to do my pedi. Ok great, I let the stab slide. (This is not like me, when it comes to my skin I’m über mean because I heal slow).
Anyway, that’s not even the worse part. I start doing my mani and she has someone else work on them… Maybe it’s just me but I like to have consistency. I can tell the difference between my pedi and mani when they are done by different freakin people!!! So by the time I was done 4 different people worked on my nails, the 4^th person didn’t even do my mani the right color and when I told her it was wrong she yelled at me until I threatened her that I would leave and pay for my unfinished nails and get them done elsewhere.
But I’m not done yet!
So I have to get my brows done, I’m trying to ask her a question and she blatantly ignores me. So by this time I felt like I was robbed of my money.
The customer service is a huge deal for me especially when I’m willing to get full service done. Last time ever going to this place. I didn’t want tip but, I did, out of generosity but I should’ve just given her a damn life tip.
Never again. Should’ve walked out when I saw those dirty tubs but it was already too late. I’d rather go to a more classy nail salon that charges more than this trash. Thanks for robbing me.

I had came here to get my manicure done and it was the worse experience ever. While I was getting my mani done the nail tech was yapping away on her cell phone and rush through my mani. Her polishing was horrible and my polish chipper off the next day.

I come here to get my eyebrows done all the time and usually she does a great job. My only recommendation for all the ladies that fill in their eyebrows is to take that makeup off before going to get them done. In the past I would’ve told you that she would take it off for you but if she’s feeling lazy she will just start waxing without wiping the makeup off. Other than that, she does an amazing job when she’s focused. Try to go on a day that isn’t too busy so everyone working there will pay attention to detail without rushing. I wish I could write a review about their nails but numerous people have told me that they can be a bit rough with your hands so naturally I’m afraid to get a manicure from them. However, if you’d like to get a great waxing this is the place! Just go on a slow day and take off your eyebrow fill in. Hope this helps!

I don’t usually leave reviews I’ve been to this place maybe 3 times I would leave a negative 2 stars if I could. Absolutely horrible they are always under staffed slow and unprofessional. I went in for a full set w/​my bf who was getting a manicure. I had a guy do my nails who was so rough he cut more than my cuticles off to the point where washing my hands is painful (same experience the 2^nd time) 2 of my nails are slanted they are all uneven and painted horribly. I didn’t bother complaining because they were rushing and by the looks of it if he tried to fix them they probably would of came out worse. After the terrible full set he gave me the rude manager painted my nails and told me she didn’t have time to do my bf mani she was «too busy» which is the same thing she told a customer when she walked in to get her eyebrows done. I mean it’s 2pm how? I could understand if it was close to closing time that’s unacceptable. They just want money your satisfaction is on the BOTTOM of their priority list. SAVE YOURSELF MONEY AND DISAPPOINTMENT I will honestly NEVER go back.

Honestly hate to say this but I just got the worst mani pedi ever! I love how they do my eyebrows but when it comes to mani pedis it’s the worst for me. I never write negative reviews but was there for 2 hours and still wasn’t happy with my nails, ended up with different color mani pedi but was late for work and just wanted to get out. I love the eyebrows and eyelash service but not the nails. Sorry

I agree with most of the reviews for this place. As busy as the Ashmont area is this place is slow because they are crooks. The first time I went there, a girl came in to complain about how the owner messed up her nails (she got them done that day) and she wanted the technician working on my nails to fix them. Never a good sign.
Anywho I was rushed by the owner to choose my color even though the technician wasn’t ready for me. And I have to say I was getting a shellac mani and their color choice definitely leaves something to be desired.
The guy doing my nails did a good job even though I had to come back two days later to get my nails fixed due to multiple chips and cracks. I chalked that up to old nail polish so I wanted to change my color. They charged me for a color change saying they would’ve fixed the nails with the same color for free. Ok maybe charge me something but not the price for a full color change. The only reason I was there two days later after paying for a shellac manicure was because the last color was no good. Crooks.
I should’ve known they were a bunch of rip offs when I watched the owner argue with a lady who wasn’t pleased with her lashes. When the woman suggested that she would rather loose a repeated customer than fix the lashes the owner even had the nerve to tell her she has a lot of other clients. I doubt it. For a Saturday across from a busy train station this place was as slow as molasses.
When I suggested I should be discounted for the chips and cracks in my nails they begun to talk in their language. I was dealing with the technician who was doing my nails about my issue and the owner had to step in to give her two cents. She pissed me off so much I had to walk out before I acted unlady like.
She is a feisty woman and so is Vincent who did my nails but at least he can back it up with talent. The only reason they got two stars is because I liked the paint job but the professionalism and atmosphere leads me to never go there again and I highly recommend that you don’t. I promise you if you do you’ll witness pass patrons coming in to express their disappointment and to have them fix something they screwed up.
We really need to start holding the businesses owned in minority areas accountable for their actions. They take our money but we don’t get respect or the level of professionalism we deserve.

The lady that did my mani/​pedi was very aggressive. She cut me 4 times; and cut me so roughly that I was still bleeding six days later. i do not recommend this place!

Although the guy is great at doing nails. they definitely use MMA — google it. Do not go there. Ruined my natural nails.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went here for the convenience as it was close to my house. BIG MISTAKE. I had a full acrylic set put on, on a Wednesday and by Saturday I had 2 broken nails from doing nothing. I went back to get the nails fixed and asked for them to make the nails thicker as they made them too thin and they were breaking too easily. The guy told me he would fix the broken nails at no charge but he would have to charge me for a Fill to make all the other nails thicker. After waiting 30minutes to be seen I was so annoyed that they would charge me to fix their mistake I ended up leaving and going to another salon to then have to pay for the nails to be fixed and for a fill. Needless to say a total of $ 57 later my nails look much better.

A friend of mine suggested Ashmont Nails and Spa when I gushed about her fabulous eyebrows! I must admit, I’m a fan.
I’ve been looking for an affordable place to get my eyebrows done. Ashmont offers both eyebrow waxing and threading for $ 10. I’m very pleased with the eyebrow shaping and I’ll most certainly return.
The salon is situated directly across from the Ashmont T station, which is über convenient and accessible.
