Great food, highly recommend, atmosphere is really neat and they have added a new concert venue. Definitely one of the areas best!

We had the bbq nacho app which was very tasty. However it could have used more cheese. The pulled pork was cooked to perfection and the pickled jalapeños are excellent. The regular rib platter was presented as expected for a BBQ platter. The ribs are big and have a very nice smoke ring. The glaze on the rib was show quality. The meat comes right off the bone but not to tender and they have a prize winning flavor and taste. Best ribs in town. The potato salad was good and fries were fries. David you need to tweak that sauce a bit because it’s Country Tavern 2.0. Highly recommend this establishment.

I had never been before. We live out in Keithville. TOTALLY worth the drive! Bill was just over $ 100 for the two of us without alcohol or dessert. We wanted to try the blackberry cobbler but no room for that! LOL We got there at 11AM on a Sat. We were the first ones there. Many followed. LOL Atmosphere was not noisy which was great! Music was nice but not loud. It’s dark in there but that’s not a bad thing. Our waitress was peppy, friendly and attentive. We did not get appetizers. We got a 10 oz filet mignon and a 20 oz ribeye. Got the au gratin potatoes which were to die for– creamy and spicy like a spicy nacho cheese sauce. Also got Caesar salads. Yummy and flavorful! The steaks were cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. This place is great! They give these warm, moist towels at the end but we didn’t get ribs so didn’t really need them. But they were lovely and smelled like candy.

Food was amazing as was our waitress. What was ridiculous were the four hostesses that were absolutely clueless. They were confused as to why we did not have a reservation… never needed one before… and it would ‘be ummm, about ummm an 45 min to an hour and a half’. Never mentioning the bar had open sitting and lots of empty tables. While waiting, I ventured into the bar and found an open table for four. Unfortunately, prior to this, we were subjected to the hostesses senseless chatter about people’s tattoos, their new haircuts, and some negative remarks about homecoming dresses. They did not understand basic questions like ‘where is your restroom’. Seriously, if this is the first representation you want people to see of your restaurant you need some help w professionalism. I am happy to spend my money elsewhere if we are not going to be critiqued by your 18 year old employees.

Our food took an hour and we were THEONLYTABLEINTHEWHOLERESTAURANT. Way overpriced, and the service was unimpressive. The chicken was soggy, and a mushy consistency. Our waitress took forever to get us our check, we just wanted to get out of there. I would NOT go back there again.

We were a party of 10. It took over an hour for our food to arrive. It took over 20 minutes to get cashed out. They had the audacity to automatically put in a 20 percent tip. I ordered a turkey garden salad. It cost $ 13. It was good but not worth $ 13. I will not be returning.

Well, to start, despite other tables being open I was seated right next to the bathrooms and a huge table of birthday revelers. The other table next to me had their birthday cake, all things considered I was in a very high traffic area. My table had a couple extra condiment caddies(from the b’day people and their cake table) on it so between the high traffic and extra clutter I definitely didn’t feel like they cared about my comfort. I ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings with a sweet tea. Only standard fixings are available on the burger. The onion rings were almost soggy, barely any crunch at all, clearly a prepackaged variety, nothing special. The burger was also nothing special. 1/3lb out-of-a-box patty, round burger completely covered by a square bun, and kind of dry and bland. My food was lukewarm at best. I did ask the waitress for fresh onion rings and those came out fast. The servers don’t wear name tags or introduce themselves, and it wasn’t on my receipt so I don’t know my servers name, but she was pleasant enough. Final impressions: Ambience: Nice enough but not better than Colton’s or Texas Roadhouse which they seen to aspire to and cost more than. Not so nice with a front row seat to the bathrooms. Menu: Too simple. No bacon or mushrooms on a burger?! Food: Meh. I’ve gotten better fast food burgers. I understand you might want to be known for your meats but that’s no excuse to not put effort into the other things you offer. Price: Definitely not worth the $ 13.89 I paid. Bbq dinners run about $ 15-$ 27. For comparison I went to another place last night and got ribs and brisket for $ 12 and it was really good. Most appetizers are $ 9ish and desserts are about $ 6. Service: Adequate. I won’t be back. P. S.: I gave her cash for my bill and she didn’t bring me the coins on my change? Normally I’m a good tipper but you’re lucky the change you kept isn’t all you got.

So I went for dinner tonight thinking, I hope it is better than the previous reviews. Well it was. Greeted upon entry, I was seated at a table quickly. The young lady took my order, and food started arriving as quickly as I could eat it. I ordered the cheese sticks for an appetizer. They were OK, but I didn’t come for cheese sticks… I ordered the 3 meat platter with Brisket, Sausage, and Turkey. I chose beans and side salad for my sides. The brisket was tender with a hickory smoke goodness. You will notice that I consistently want smoke flavor in my brisket, this one had it. I cook with Oak and Pecan so the flavor was different for me. I liked it.(That’s what BBQ is about) Sausage was good and had an ample portion. The highlight was the smoked turkey. Some of the best smoked turkey I have had. Theres this little place in Corsicana, TX… but I digress. Great food, great service, and Great atmosphere.

So after reading some of the reviews, I was uncertain. However, it is less than a half mile from the hotel, so convenience won. I walked in and they seated me in the back room. Uh-oh. So how was it? The beans weren’t bad but they were nothing special and the onion rings… what a minute! I wasn’t here for that, what about the meat? Really good! Not a match at all to the bad reviews, food or service wish! Those other folks must have gone to a different place. I definitely plan to go back.

This was my very first time here and I was not impressed. A local recommended it to me as one of the best in the area and it did not live up to the hype. I ordered a ribeye which was $ 30+ but I was okay with the price based on my expectations, but boy was it a let down. I’ve had better ribeye’s from chain restaurants. I ordered my steak medium and it came out medium rare(cool red center) in case they didn’t know lol. For the price I was expecting it to wow me and that wasn’t the case. I can’t speak for the BBQ which seemed to be the favorite once I observed what others were eating. My server was quick and attentive but not the friendliest. I come visit the area once a month for business and to be honest I will give this place another shot but try the BBQ instead.

Was in town for the independence bowl and silver star was said to be the best bbq in town. It didn’t disappoint. Food was awesome as was service. We were seated immediately and everyone was very nice. If I’m ever in Shreveport-Bossier again I’ll definitely go back

We arrived for dinner at 6pm prior to the Josh Abbott concert. We were seated when we arrived and our drink orders were taken 15 minutes later. It took another 15 minutes before the drinks were delivered to our table. It was another 15 minutes before the waitress took our second drink order and our food orders. It was another 50 minutes or so before our food was delivered to the table which caused us to miss the opening band. When it was all said and done by the time the check was delivered and paid we were stuck at the table for a little over two hours. No apologies nor concessions were made to the table in response to the poor service. I had the ribs that are typically very good but in this case me and several other people at the table were given overcooked ribs that were hard and chewy. My wife had the turkey which was dry. We have frequented this restaurant over a dozen time and have never had an experience like this. Hopefully this is a one time occurrence and something they fix from a staffing standpoint the next time they have a concert.

This is a really good restaurant. I love the sausage sandwich and potato salad. The steak salad is really good too.

One of the best places in Bossier! On good day the Au Gratin potatoes are great but and sometimes inconsistent. Their fried pickles are the greatest thing on the Earth! They are in spears instead of slices which makes them some much juicer! Their smoked turkey plate is by far the best fish their! Everything else is fantastic but nothing compares! The only complaint is consistency and location!

I Love this place. A treat always for the ORR Nissan crew is to be taken to Silver Star. The food is amazing but most importantly the people make the food even better. If you’ve never been you should definitely go!!! Amazing Place… Proud its in Bossier City!

Great burgers, and salads, I’ve had better ribs but the steak is just awesome. It is a little pricy but totally worth it. The service is not great though, I’m pretty sure they focus too much on young pretty girls who will wear tight clothes when selecting the staff, rather than someone who can properly serve customers. Overall I would recommend it if you are in the mood for steak, just don’t be in a hurry when you go.

Service in the bar area, the atmosphere & the music were great. You have definitely got to enjoy their BBQ Platter & get their special potatoes! Big restaurant & tons of parking! #MustTry

I thought I was in for something special. I could think of no other reason why we would be driving so far for dinner, being that it was our last night in town. My mouth salivated at the thought of thick, juicy ribs. Bossier City had to have something good, being this close to Texas and probably borrowed some tricks from Memphis or Kansas City. The building itself doesn’t seem to know if it wants to be a Texas dance hall or a smoke shack. It doesn’t do either particularly well with awkward, open rooms and haphazard decorations. The limited beer selection can be ordered in small glasses or large, what I can only really call goblets or chalices. I had a frosted chalice of Shiner Bock, one of the two non-pilsners on the list rattled off by our server. Appetizers were fried pickles which were tasty. OK! We’re doing alright. Let’s get some ribs! Rather than bringing out a half rack of steaming, smoked, succulent meat, the server set a plate of bones with thin, dry meat that could be confused for skin perched atop white bread. The chef must have also believed that pulling ribs apart is a Herculean task as all ribs were already separated. If they were cooked this way, it would explain the dryness. The BBQ sauce(only one) was OK, but my disappointment had already set in and the dinner could hardly be salvaged at that point. Another Shiner Bock, please.

Not sure why it took me so long to find this place. At first I thought their steak prices were kind of high, but after the first bite I knew it was worth every penny. 14oz ribeye was juicy, tender, and flavorful — hard to ask for anything more. The rest of the family had BBQ and not a single complaint. Only reason for 4 stars was b/c it was dimly lit which made it hard to see at times.

First time here and I’m kicking myself for not eating here while I still lived up in Bossier City. Was in town for the Thanksgiving holiday to see family and they decided to eat here the night before Thanksgiving… it was delicious. My Dad and step Mom shared a Ribeye and it was cooked so perfect that my step Mom could cut hers with a butter knife!!! I went with the BBQ Lite Combo Platter and selected Brisket and Sausage… That is some of the tenderest brisket I’ve eaten in a long damn time… melted in your mouth… great flavor and the BBQ sauce was excellent… had just enough hint of vinegar to give it an outstanding flavor. They also offer au gratin potatoes as a side and dammit they are worth it… Top 3 in Shreveport/Bossier City along with the Cub and Texas Street Tavern… I ain’t saying they are the best but they are right up amongst them. They have some spice heat and the cheese they use has a smooth smoky flavor… makes for an outstanding side dish!!! Plus the talent they have working the floor sure does make the wait between ordering and the meal pass quickly not that you have to wait long on your meal, mind you. Excellent meal, great ambience to the restaurant, great staff(both service wise and in the looks department) all adds up to the fact that as I said to start I’m kicking myself for not making this a regular spot when I was still living here!!! P. S. I forgot to mention they do have a full bar service Saloon as part of the location and in addition they will cook you a Thanksgiving/Christmas Turkey or Ham… Plus they have a large framed John Wayne portrait on the wall with apprpriate lighting for the best effect… I love any place that puts the Duke on prominent display!!!
