Military Family; Had two 2VERYBAD experiences; Strike I — Last Feb I took my wife their for V-DAY and we had a reservation. We had to wait over an 1.5hrs after our scheduled reservation time to be seated. Now, I thought nonthing of it until I asked the staff what was taking so long. BOTTOMLINE; they did not have enough cooks or servers. They did not even have a host to give you a status update or give you a menu. This is poor management. When I confronted the manager to inquiry about enormous charges on my bill and the wait time we experience. His attitude mirrored his poor management skills. Strike II — I had a military going away for a coworker. I warned him this place was not very good. He insisted this where he wanted to go, so we made the reservation for 20 people about 2 wks before the function. 14 people in my party actually showed up and it took 70 mins for them to seat us. I’m done w/this place. This amazes me, you are literally 2 miles from the Air Force Base, but you cannot offer military patrons who support your restaurant a discount. If you cannot support me, then I cannot support you. No stars.

The food is actually good. That being said, everything else makes me wonder how they stay in business. There is never anyone up front to greet you and on more than one occasion, the first thing said to us is «it will be a while if you’re wanting anything from the grill, followed with«and our fryer is broken if you want anything fried in your sushi». The atmosphere is dull and the large fish tank up front usually has a lot of algae. If you go, get it to go instead.

.Lady servicing our table was great. Chef was OK. Food was«so so». Way over priced. Our grandchildren love to go to Shogun on their birthday. That means 18 of us gather to celebrate. Not sure what they put on their food but most of us always leave with upset stomachs. Ave cost per person is $ 25 – 30. Amazing what we will do to make our babies happy.

We came in on Wed June 17. There shouldnt be any off days. Guests pay a good bit of money there to get the experience they should deserve. The waitress did a great job. And when asked for the chef. She responded with how she had turned the ticket in and had no idea why the chef hadnt come out yet. If you guys were busy i would absolutely understand. But it was after 6pm and we waited a long time when we were one of the first tables sat.

I hardly ever write a review, but today I must! We had a rather large party about 35 to 40 people. The wait staff was pretty good with a party that size. The actual food prep was sloppy and left a lot to be desired. The portion size was very large but the quality was not there. The food was greasy and just did not taste very good. We were not pleased with the hidden cost of the fried rice. On top of paying $ 23+ for my entrée which included soup(bowl of water with a mushroom in it), salad(only dressing choices were ginger and some old ass Italian dressing) I was then charged $ 2.50 for fried rice. I have eaten at plenty of Japanese Steakhouses and never before have I been charged extra for fried rice. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you are looking to make a donation. Because that’s how I felt when I left.

I’ve been here waiting now for 10 minutes. I, the customer, just went to ask the man staring at us from behind the counter if they were serving lunch(because the GIANT sign outside says they now are) and he told me we had to wait until the other table that was sitting leaves so that they could clean it and serve us. First, why would you let a customer just stand around in your lobby??! There are at least SIX hibachis and its 1:11pm. I see NO reason why they should be understaffed grill cooks or servers. And here’s the kicker, the people sitting here from before we got here said they’ve been waiting for at least 10 minutes themselves! If my daughter didn’t want this for her 9th birthday we would NOT be staying for this sort of craptastic service. If there was a way to leave a quarter of a star, I would. This place has gone down in flames since we started coming here 7 years ago. The food might be «ok» but everything else is lame.

This place used to be much better a few years ago. It has gone down hill. You used to get much more food and be able to take quite a bit home. Not so much now. The fried rice was not that flavorful tonight and the rice was actually not done. It was chewy and I even had a few that were slightly crunchy. The soup is nothing but a bland broth with a few green onions and a mushroom floating in it and had no flavor. I didn’t even eat it. The salad was drenched in dressing and the bowl had ¼ cup water/dressing at the bottom of the bowl. The filet mignon was very good. The lobster and chicken were both overlooked and very dry. We asked for no teriyaki, pretty sure that’s why it was dry, they’re used to drowning everything in teriyaki sauce. The rock n roll was ok. The stringed crab didn’t seem fresh. It just didn’t taste as well as I remember it being in the past. The place was very busy and we did have to wait for 35 minutes before being seated. The waiter kept refilling our teas with warm tea and not adding ice, so we had to ask for a cup of ice on the side. Waiter busy, but forgetful. Chef was nice and playful with a good disposition. Food just wasn’t very flavorful. I would rate rice and veggies a 2 and sushi a 3. Filet mignon a 4. Chicken and lobster 2. Salad 1. Soup 1. Like I said, have eaten here a lot over the past several years and it just seems to be going downhill. In my opinion, not worth the price they are charging. Prices have also gone up on some things.

2 stars = meh. I’ve experienced better. Let’s run it down here: Sunday — Thursday = all day BOGO free drinks. AWESOME. Sushi = had the crazy lobster roll. It was crazy DELICIOUS. Salad = no thanks. I could definitely taste the mayo in the dressing. Plus it was pretty spicy. Must have been the horseradish. Soup = pretty salty. Fair warning. Fried rice = Again, it wasn’t the best I’ve had, nor was it the worst. Teppanyaki = not so great. The shrimp didn’t seem fresh, nor did the chicken. I seriously think the shrimp was frozen. POSITIVE. My husband had the surf and turf and I wasn’t at all impressed with the beef. Maybe he should have sprung for the filet mignon. I have a feeling though that it wouldn’t have made a difference. All I can say is thank goodness for YUMYUM sauce. WOO. Service: Good enough. We had to ask our teppanyaki chef where our sushi was and he had to chase it down… I suppose our waiter forgot about us, but being that it was pretty busy for a Wednesday, I’ll let it slide. We paid $ 90 plus tip for a meal that was a little below average. We decided the best situation would be to come on a week day for the drink special and sit at the sushi bar and only order sushi. If you are looking for amazing teppanyaki, go elsewhere. The other location in Shreveport kicks this one’s butt.

The worst restaurant experience in a long time. The hostess was rude and the waiter was even ruder. We were told to «hurry up» and order. The place was virtually empty and they had 5 hrs till they closed. Terrible!!! We walked out! The only reason it gets one star is because Unilocal is making me put at least one. Really deserves 0 stars!!!

Food is just as good as the show. Sometimes the staff can be a little forgetful, but overall, they are friendly. Sometimes there can be a wait for a cook. The food is worth it.

I have been avoiding this place based on the one other review on Unilocal and the fact that its listed as an expensive place. Well after going to the other sushi places in bossier i figured what the heck why not. Now im not going to tell you how great this place is and the other reviewer has it all wrong because she actually has a good point about the service. I went on just a run of the mill weekday and there really wasnt anyone there. As i normally do i grabbed a seat at the sushi bar. Im pretty much always eating by myself so i rarely will get a table. Im assuming the sushi chef owned the place but i sure hope not. Customer service was definately not his strong suit. His sushi though is a different story. I got the deep fried gyoza for an app. I always like to get gyoza and this is the first time ive seen it fried, normally pan fried but never seen deep fried. I have to say though it was awesome that way! Way better than any gyoza ive had. After that i got the rock-n-roll. This was really good as well and really not that expensive. Everything on the menu seemed about normal for sushi in shreveport, definately not any more than anywhere else ive been. At the end of the day though i really cant give it any more than 3 stars. The food is good but the service was lacking and the atmosphere wasnt anything special. Im sure ill end up back there at some point as there arent to many sushi places on this side of town but it wont be my first choice and im going to try every other sushi place in shreveport before i do find myself back here to give it another try.

Do not go to this location. One of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. I love Shogun’s in Tyler, TX. They have really good hibachi and sushi. I’ve been eating there for the past 6 years and never had any complaints. This location was horrible. When we arrived there was about a 10 minute wait for the habachi tables and only two people at the sushi bar. It wasn’t horribly busy. We had already planned on eating sushi and sat right down. The waiter came by about ten minutes later and asked us what we wanted to drink. I asked for a water and my b/f wanted an iced tea as well as a side salad and miso soup. We busied ourselves looking over the menu and writing down our orders. I tried to get the sushi chef’s attention a few times to ask about various things but he exclaimed he would be right with me and he was busy. He was too busy for me to physically hand him my written order as well so I left it on the counter. He never touched it. I heard him tell a waiter that brought him a sushi order from one of the tables that it would be about 40 minutes. The waiter brought me my salad and my b/f’s miso 10 minutes later. The salad was litterally iceberg lettuce and a horseradish mayonaise that was mostly just mayonaise. I could have managed to swallow it if the bowl hadn’t been halfway full of water. It was disgusting. When the waiter brought us our drinks 40 minutes after we arrived I told him that we wouldn’t be eating there. We walked out. They didn’t even take our order. We were planning on spending $ 150+ on sushi that night… 45 minutes and lettuce mayonaise soup. No thank you. Go to Sushiko instead!
