I ate lunch there earlier this week with a friend. I ordered the grilled half chicken lunch special and he had the chicken mole’. My lunch was incredible! My friend advised that his was good. I have eaten at this location on four occasions and have eaten the same thing each time; every meal has been wonderful. In my opinion this is the best grilled chicken in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone hungry for grilled chicken.

PRO: Charro Beans is actually pretty good. Salsa pretty spicy(I like spicy). Shredded chicken burrito marinated with full flavor. CONS: Whole chicken is a bit dry and Prices are way to high for what it is. One thing that seems to always grab my attention is the kitchen is way too quiet. I’m use to hearing flames and smelling smoke. Overall– A-OK…come on it’s Louisiana.

I just moved to Louisiana from California and whe I saw this place as I was driving by I said, «Yes! Louisiana’s version of El Pollo Loco!» I went in and ordered the half chicken with rice, beans, and tortillas. I wanted it to go, but i ordered it «For here» so I could try the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. I have to say, it was pretty darn good. The white meat was a little dry, but you can just dunk it in salsa to take care of that, and the dark meat was delicious. The salsas were different than El Pollo Loco’s but good in their own way. What really surprised me were the rice and beans… They were awesome! Especially the beans, which is probably due to the pieces of bacon in them. All in all, a good EPL substitute!

This is true Mexican food from the North of Mexico, specifically Monterrey. They have a great selection of Salsa and the tacos are made just right. I have not had«Regio» food this good in Houston(where we live). We had tacos al pastor, carne asada, papa regia, tostada siberia and churros. The only suggestion I would make if you decide to take out is to have the griddle ready to warm up the corn tortillas a little.

The chicken here is superb. And the green sauce is so amazing. I call it crack sauce. You can buy it in a bottle, but it is NOT the same. The staff doesn’t speak good English, but the food is so good that it doesn’t matter.

I was really excited to try this place out after reading a few great reviews. I ordered the carne asada tacos and was very disappointed. Most of the meat was gristle and fat. It completely lacked flavor and my cilantro was not fresh and my onions were very oily.

Best Mexican food place in the SBC area. More of Monterrey style food. Every other place is the same, horrible attempt at Tex-Mex. I come from South Texas so i really am picky about eating«Mexican» food in SBC Area.

Best charcoal grill chicken! Tortas are great! Kids quesadillas are really good, tacos a la barbacoa was not really good(at least for me) but the best thing is the charcoal chicken

I didn’t want to eat here based on the two reviewers stating they got sick. But the husband insisted we give it a try and we made plans to meet for lunch. Unfortunately, I was already sick before I walked in the door so I ordered just a bottle of Coke(Mexican bottled drinks aplenty here AND fountain beverages). My husband ordered some half chicken deal with corn tortillas, rice, beans, chips and a drink. The prices were fantastic. Looking around it is apparent that this is where the Mexicans go for lunch. That’s a very good sign. I also liked that everything was in Spanish(with an english translation for those less worldly). The husband takes a bite of the chicken and sighs. He forces me to eat a bite and I die. It is SO good. I sip my Coke and curse my stomach. He sips his horchata and now he’s dead too. He declares(from Heaven, I’d imagine) that it is the best horchata he has ever had. My stomach wants to turn itself inside out but I must try the rice. So I do. Esta rico! After lunch I slink home ashamed of my stupid stomach. But WAIT! A few hours later, I felt better. So I hit their drive-thru like a starving stray dog and ordered the chicken quesadilla. I barely made it home to my dining table before diving in. OHYES. The chicken is the same grilled chicken they serve whole. It is extremely tasty. It’s fresh and you can taste the grill and the warm Mexican sun. The cheese to chicken ratio is perfect. The green sauce they give you is amazing. They aren’t stingy with the condiments either. A small tostada shell is overfilled with sour cream, pico de gallo, lettuce and guacamole. I cannot wait until I am feeling better and binge on everything here. After my feast, the first thing I did was call my dad, who lives in SoCal to let him know that he HAS to visit me in Louisiana so he can try Mexican food. I am so in love with this place it isn’t even funny. The ONLY critique I can give this place, and I won’t even deduct a star from it because this just means it is homemade, is that I found a few tiny bones in my chicken. But that tells me it’s fresh, whole chicken and not processed somewhere.

I’m a sucker for trying new places and I’ve been wanting to try this joint for a couple of years. I just don’t spend much time in Bossier City, but as I passed by today I caught a whiff of mesquite grilled chicken. Once I finished a couple of errands, I backtracked so my daughter and I could try out some tasty chicken. It was quite similar to El Gallito Regio, an old school bus in Houston that was converted into a chicken stand. The Houston establishment is the best ever, but El Pollo Regio makes for a great stand in. I’ll be sure to come back. I just wish there was a Sheveport location.

Great fast food we liked the carne asada torta and loved the pollo torta(they come with fries). Great salsa bar. Limited English spoken by the staff but that is ok. The place is clean.

This place just sucks!!! The food was nasty and cold. We all felt sick after eating the food. Don’t waste your time or money at this place.

Ate here twice, the food tasted good but I came down sick along with a few people I know of. My Dr said it salmonella poisoning and this is the only thing I ate during the day and was sick that night. I do not recommend taking the risk as it appears they do not spend much time to prevent contamination.

THISISMYNEWFAVORITETHING!!! I LOVE this place!!! Delicious! And I mean delicious chicken!!! So good! I will be eating here again and again and again! Especially this summer, as I will see several films at the old Regal Cinema(Bossier Corners 9) at Airline Drive and Shed Road in Bossier City. This new restaurant, which is part of a national chain but the first in this area, has taken up residence inside the old Back Yard Burgers restaurant in front of the movie theater. Don’t be afraid of this place! As a matter of fact you should be pressing your vehicle to its’ speed limits and getting over to this restaurant as soon as possible! Its’ menu and flavor is somewhat reminiscent of the west coast franchise El Pollo Loco(Of which, I am a HUGE fan!) I am so glad El Pollo Regio is here now! Please, Bossier City, support it! You don’t know how lucky you are to have it! This is one of the BEST chicken restaurants we have here locally! This is fast, high quality food, that is very affordable and they also have a drive thru!
