My boyfriend and I tried out the newly opened Britt’s Snow Shack on the advice of a friend. I don’t know if they are ready for the prime time quite yet. They lady that greeted us didn’t really greet us. She threw open the window and said«What do you want?» about three seconds after we walked up to the window. After a quick glance at the menu we picked Tigers Blood and Grape. The ice isn’t block ice, it’s just bagged ice tossed into a machine which gave it a bit of a chunkier texture. She poured syrup on the ice but there were clear white spots throughout on mine. The flavor wasn’t that great but still edible. My boyfriend’s was a total disaster! First, she poured all the grape flavoring into the bottom and then put the ice on top, not layering it so as to make an even taste. Then she ran out of grape and just stopped putting ice in. She turns to us with a half full snowcone and says, «I ran out of grape. Do you want red on top?». Red? Red what? He took the snowcone as it came, with a thick syrupy bottom and white ice all along the top. Whoo! That baby was sour. It was like kool aid with a lemon poured on top. We tossed our snowcones out after about two sips and just got out of there. I would wait until they get a good flavor list going and up their service before checking them out.
