Not 5 star quality, but definately aesthetically pleasing in the dining rooms for functions, or a day at the beach for a casual stay. 20 minutes away from the actual property of Mediterra(which is absolutely beautiful, but smacked between low income housing in Bonita Springs off BB Rd. & I-75. Very out there feel. Beautiful homes and within the gate«town feel» ammenities.) I’d prefer to just enjoy a day at the public beach, renting a cabana from Vanderbilt, and enjoying one of the five star restaurants. This club could use some polishing.

The residential community of Mediterra stradles Lee and Collier Counties along Old US41, Naples. It’s recently completed private Beach Club has an unequivocal prime location on the sand near Lovers Key, with a knockout view of the Gulf and of Sanibel-Capitva to the north. The Country Club élan of waitstaff calling each diner by their Mr or Mrs surname works even here, where half the diners are in bathing suit cover-ups and are trailing sand from their chaises set up by the Club’s beach boys under perky yellow umbrellas. A small lap pool on the second level invites swimmers, especially when winter Gulf temperatures fall. This is perfection of a locale for sunset, glass in hand. Food is in moderate portions, and well prepared. I enjoyed a crisp green salad with goat cheese, fig, pear and blackened chicken. My hot tea came in a heavy, dark, Japanese vessel that was as special as the kitchen it came from. Sun, sand, water, Nature’s colors, good food a& fine friends. Now that’s the ticket!
