Nice grocery store. Good selection, and the prices are much more reasonable than Publix. Produce selection was comprehensive, but prices were a little steeper than I’m used to. Quality was superb, though, and definitely worth the trip. Meats and fish are priced well, fresh and varied. What impressed me most about this store, however, was the customer service. I was walking in the store, searching for the spice aisle. I must have commented aloud that I needed to find the spices because a Sweetbay employee stopped me and said quite clearly: «Spices are this way, maam, on your left.» Wow! I didn’t even see them there. THAT’S help when you really need it. If I lived here permanently, this would be one of my regular grocery stops.

NOTON A BAY! Wouldn’t it be sweet if this store was on a a bay? I really do not understand the story behind the name. I guess I could find out on Wikipedia but that seems like too much work. My Dad loves this store. They seem to keep closing other locations in this chain and he keeps going farther and farther to shop. I’ve tried to get him hooked on Trader Joe’s but I don’t think he gets TJ’s! On our trip today it took us 20 minutes to find ricotta cheese. We looked in all of the usual ricotta places. Next to the milk… nope! Over by the cottage cheese… try again! Maybe by the cheese… you’re getting colder! Finally I decided to find an employee and I had to walk all the way to the other side of the store to find one. I told the employee I couldn’t find it and he said, «It’s by the cottage cheese!» I told him, «Good Luck!» So he decide to show it to me. When we got to the cottage cheese, there was no Ricotta Cheese. The employee had to find another employee who was stocking eggs. That guy looked at him and said, «It’s by the cream cheese!» We walked over there and there it was! The employee looked at me and said, «We’ll that makes no sense. It’s been by the cottage cheese for the last 4 years!» My thoughts exactly. So crisis adverted and we found our ricotta cheese. Time to bring on some yummy pasta for lunch! This place is your basic food store. It has everything you would expect to find in a store. There’s meat, deli, dairy, veggies, processed food and junk food. I will say they have the coldest water fountain, which after running for 3 hours was a welcome sight for my dry mouth. Our check out person was also very nice too. I’m not a fan of these big food stores. Too much processed food in here. I will say my high marks are for the employees who assisted us. Good customer service is hard to find. Finding it during High Season in Southern Florida makes it even better.
