My wife has strep throat and went to this urgent care the moment it opened. There were just a handful of patients in front of us and it took over 3 hours!

I was scheduled for surgery and didn’t want a student involved. My surgeon’s office called ahead of time to make sure that this would be ok and was told it would. My surgeon spoke with the head of the center one week before to make sure everything would be ok. When I arrived, the nurse that was head of the center told me that I had to have a student and if I didn’t they would not do surgery. I explained the above but she didn’t care and was beyond rude and abusive. When she repeated that they would not do surgery without a student, I said ok and left. I think she thought I would back down but it was an elective procedure and I wasn’t going to back down. Several miscommunications occurred after that and I decided to find another surgeon and another surgery center that would willingly accommodate my «no student» request. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Their treatment was horrible.

What do you do when you’re traveling and get sick? Go to the Bonita Community Health Center. But get there early or you will be waiting an eternity! They’ve got quite a system working here. You first check in and work through all of your insurance information with them. They took our insurance and even processed it for us. Yeah! Then we waited with two sick boys. The waiting area is huge and for good reason. Get there early in the morning and you’ll be seen within the ½ hour. Get there later in the day and you could be waiting for hours. And no, they don’t take appointments. When we saw the doctor, he was kind and considerate. He didn’t rush us through and listened to what was going on with my kiddos to figure out what was wrong. They had been spiking fevers but didn’t have one at the time we were there. But it had been going on too long to be just a flu. The doctor mentioned that he had seen some kids present flu but it turned out to be strep throat. 15 minutes later we found out both of our kids had strep throat. Thank you for saving our vacation!
