The food was good and the staff was super friendly, courteous and helpful on menu selections. The exterior dining area on the waterfront is delightful.

What a chill place. The outdoor seating with an amazing view of the water that really makes it. The view was awesome. Food is good, prices are normal. We will be back. Apparently there is a lunch/dinner menu and a bar menu which offers different items.

I had the grouper sandwich since«that’s what they’re known for» and my husband had the Mahi Mahi sandwich — both were warm — and dry — over cooked? And the french fries were room temperature. We both enjoyed a glass of wine. They were good. Seems when the«season» is here there is a lot more attention to detail. Too bad(for them).

Stopped by after kayaking nearby. A little hidden gem with great food. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere and view of the boat docks. The staff was great.

Service was friendly and adequate, food was tasty and adequate. The view/weather/outdoor dining makes it entirely worth visiting. A little pricy. I had a caprese salad and added grilled grouper, the salad was great, the fish was bland. The restaurant is just hard enough to find that the crowds weren’t crazy on a very busy winter peak weekend. This place is worth seeking out.

We went back and had an equally great experience. Our server Oscar was very attentive and provided excellent service. I ordered the grouper tacos — it’s a sizable portion which could be shared as it also comes with a side of fries or veggies. The Cobb salad was also great as was the kids menu burger. Great place to go after the beach or boating.

I dont know about the food. We were turned away at the door. We had 5 kids and were told they were closed at 7:00 at night. Just as we were leaving a couple walked through the door and were seated immediately. I was not pleased to say the least.

Just returned from this evening dinner at Big Hickory Fishing Nook Seafood Grille. Nice views of the dock & surrounding waters. Outside seating is good although it was windy today. We had the 3 tacos with grouper, and the shrimp po boy. Minimal shrimp, lots of bread, pretty good taste for what was there. Tacos were not very good… sloppy, wet. Small amount of heavily breaded & fried grouper… not a lot of fish flavor. The draft tap beer was cold… and the best part of the meal! Oh…the menu prices shown at Big Hickory website must be out of date as prices on line are significantly less than for the same items at the restaurant. OK…checked this off our list… not likely to go back…

Big Hickory offers 270-degree views of the harbor with fresh cuisine. It was just what my group needed on our last day in the area. With a 6-hour delay in flight departure, we had plenty of time to find a new favorite place in the greater Fort Myers area. A quick Unilocal search revealed decent reviews of Big Hickory. The weather also happened to be gorgeous on that day(ironically, the best weather of our entire time in the area), which helped tip the scales in favor of this location. Parking was a cinch when we arrived, and we were quickly seated. As other reviewers have stated, service is slower here, as we had to wait for waters, then again to put our orders in. Once we ordered, however, the kitchen quickly had our food ready. While we waited, we watched Pelicans lazing in the bay or swooping down to go for a dip in the pristine blue water. I ordered the blackened fish tacos and was not disappointed. The homemade Key Lime aioli and black bean salsa really added a great flavor to the tacos. A crunchy slaw added texture to each bite of the tacos, which were filled with mild, flaky fish. The order of three tacos filled me up, but if it were up to my tastebuds instead of my stomach, I would have ordered about 5 more! While not on the gulf to offer sweeping views of the vast open water, this is still a nice place to visit and enjoy a beautiful day with delicious food if you’re in the area.

My family loves coming here for lunch because of the absolutely breathtaking views from the outdoor patio/seating area. Great place to see dolphins and boats go by. There’s also a lot of people who dock their boats for lunch. Food’s always good, and for the most part, the service is excellent. Great place to drink, eat, and take in all that is southwest Florida!

Really good food. Fresh and delish. I wouldn’t order anything fancy but have had the grouper sandwich and the best burger ever that came with a draft beer:) good scenery too, on the back bay.

Although this place was highly recommended, we felt it was a disappointment. Service was lacking. We were seated right away, then virtually ignored. A table of four was seated about ten minutes after us(party of 2), and their orders were taken, water and drinks were served, and still we waited. We finally had to ask to be waited on. Food was just average. Presentation was so so. Taste was OK but not memorable. The oysters on the half shell were good, but nothing really stood out. We will find other places to eat while here.

Just came back to one of our favorite places in Bonita, my wife had the wedge salad as she does pretty much every time we are here!, but it is really good, and the lobster bisque which is really good as well, I had the grouper tacos that are friggin awesome! With a side of corn and black bean salad delish! We will probably be back a few more times within the two weeks we are here. .Grouper tacos! Mmmm.

Great little restaurant! Crab cakes are excellent. The patio and view of the water is beautiful. Didn’t really like the grilled grouper — stick with the crab cakes or main entrees.

Had the calamari(ask for the wasabi dipping sauce!), lobster bisque was more of a broth than a bisque and needed a lot of cracked pepper. Fish tacos were good & served with fries on the side. Blackened mahi mahi sandwich served on a pretzel roll was burned to a crisp but sent it back to the kitchen and it came out perfect. Would recommend the blackened mahi mahi on pretzel roll!

Great food, with friendly staff, and a wonderful view. What else do you need in life. A liquor drink might be nice, but that’s just not their thing. Its a little off the beaten path, so you literally have to look for the place. And don’t expect to be able to park there and then go to the beach, they keep an eye on that. I normally try and go in the off hours to make sure and get a seat by the water. This time though I went around 5pm to make sure I made it to the sunset after. There was a small wait for a good seat, but just hanging by the docks till then was not a problem. The grouper sandwich used to be a weekly thing for me when I lived down this way. Its a little more expensive than it used to be, but still a great sandwich. So, I had to order it. Spot on, as usual. Served with fries. Being that I really just wanted a quick bite and make sure that we made the sunset, I was happy to get out quickly and be on my way. So, no desert, just the check please. I will be back.

We walked in at night to have dinner we were very hungry we were seated outside and were immediately divebombed by numerous mosquitoes so we ran inside with the menus well it was lobster night but I’m from up north and these lobsters were anemic softshell lobsters for 24.99 for 1 pound lobsters. I didn’t really see anything that intrigued me on the menu because there was very little local seafood. As a matter fact everything on the menu except for the grouper– which I ordered and it was not even grouper it was terrible and it was expensive. Of course I sent it back. I could not believe how many people were eating there have been people lost your taste buds and your minds? The waitress ignored us and the hostess was talking on the phone giving directions at the top of her lungs. My companions ordered non-seafood items which I tasted and they were not good nor were any of us happy. In the end I couldn’t even get a check and we just left some money on the table– and ran out of there to go have dinner elsewhere. The reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is for the view– which at night is not visible. Otherwise they would get 1 for being rude, overpriced and just bad. So if you want overpriced bad food with a good view this is the place. Life is just too short — go elsewhere!
