Went for lunch at 12:30 pm on March 16, 2016 with three friends(we had reservations). Took about 30 minutes to get our drinks. I ordered Smoked Bacon & Potato Soup and a Chopped Cobb salad. The soup was flavorful but lukewarm. The salad was bland both in flavor and appearance and I would never order it again.

Wow fantastic food and atmosphere! We had a group of 8 and it was a fabulous evening. Loved the table-side salads and my steak was cooked perfectly. We ordered a Crème brûlée to share and everyone was bummed they didn’t order their own…

The atmosphere is good, the wait staff friendly. But the service exceptionally slow. We arrived at 8, and dinner not served until about 9:50. At 10, rowdy piano bar music starts leaving a peaceful dinner and table conversation difficult. Drink refills slow, water glasses allowed to drain dry. The table side salad is excellent, but my dish — halibut — was fishy and greasy. Seasonings were missing. Not good. Other items on the table seemed prepared in a rather bland way, no decent presentation for price. There were several birthday events that night, but only one person seemed to be acknowledged by the mediocre band. If it were not for great friends to enhance this experience I probably would have left after the first hour of waiting for service.

Delicious food — marvelous steaks and absolutely fine dining and service, yet unpretentious. I think this is definitely my favorite steakhouse in Boise. I hear their fish is fabulous, too!

Went for dinner on Friday night, and found the service to be just fine, despite all the poor reviews I’ve read. The staff was not only attentive, but also friendly and efficient. Food was simply great, and speaking as one who loves Chandlers for steaks, I would say that the Brickyard measures up very well. And… for the price of an entrée, you get soup or salad, a LARGE baked potato and a vegetable all included. This does not happen at Chandler’s. The atmosphere was fun and the atmosphere was very nice. Give it a try… if your experience is anything like ours, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was fantastic. I ordered the Wagyu steak and it was cooked perfectly. I did not experience poor service, rather the contrary. The staff was attentive, friendly and well informed on menu items. Dueling Pianos were very fun.

Service is the worst I’ve experienced since coming to Boise. We simply were ignored by the wait staff – they seemed to be having a fine time joking with one another in the kitchen doorway, but they were unconcerned about what we might want to drink and eat. The food might be great, but I will never know that. There are plenty of other good restaurants in the valley that appreciate my patronage.

The worst service in Boise. I have no idea how the food is because none of the wait staff cared enough to take the party I was with’s order. No the less than six of the staff stood by the kitchen door and talked while we waited for 8 – 10 minutes for someone to take our orders. Finally, we chose to leave as opposed to being ignored. The kicker: no one in the Restaurant seemed to care we were treated so poorly.

Excellent downtown location. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Good selection of cocktails and upscale drink list. Wine list lacking. Limited menu but choices were varied and interesting. Prices reasonable. Won’t be a regular but would go again.

Was a nice atmosphere but felt like we were forgotten by our waiter several times. The waiter assistants were wonderful and really wish they could have received the tip. We were never told about the evening special(heard about it while it was being described to another table after we had ordered.) The Valentine’s Day chocolate cake was ok at best. Overall we were disappointed in our Valentine’s Day experience.

I came here with some friends from the Boise area after dinner at another place. It was late and the Piano bar was rocking! They played some very good music and hey were real fun! The lady singer was very entertaining and what a show she put on for a guy who happened to have a birthday this night! I cant wait to go back and stay for longer than one drink! Thanks to my friend or I would not have know this place even existed!

First time for us here. Staff was friendly and attentive. Crab cakes were excellent, although dipping sauce could have used more of a bite. Salad and bread were very good. Linda loved her 10 Oz filet, but my rib eye was a bit under cooked. All in all a very pleasant experience and the prices, although high, we’re reasonable for what we received.

This place never disappoints. Food is always cooked to perfection. Drinks are fantastic. The salad is AMAZING.(Try the green goddess dressing!) I don’t eat meat, and my husband is a steak guy. They have limited but delicious options for herbivores, mainly of the potato variety. The cherry on top is the friendly and wonderful wait staff. If you’ve been wanting to give it a try, now is the time!

Once we found a table, we sat for 25−30min without even being acknowledged. Asked an employee for our server, received a blunt response and no one ever showed up. 0 stars for poor service.

It was great until I met our server. She rolled her eyes, had a very flat tone & I felt she wanted to check out. It was my first time attending duel piano with my girlfriend & also moving into Boise in general so I had NOCLUE the kitchen was closed. Great atmosphere — horrible blonde that needs to quit.

I’ve had better steaks in Jersey diners. So sad.

I don’t know… think it might be one of those places that varies widely based on what you order… this past experience was not good for me. Went with a larger group this past week and my biggest observation was how empty the place was… this was a Thursday night and lots of other places downtown were hopping so it seemed odd. We got a few bottles of wine which were fine and apps for the table… I didn’t have any but they seemed fine… nothing too special from what I saw. Then came the salad cart… I get it… supposed to feel like a really fancy, custom experience… to me, it’s just odd. Especially with a larger party, it takes the dude like 15 – 20 mins to make the salads and at that point, it’s just a dude standing there putting lettuce in a bowl. So I ordered the scallops… I think that’s where I went wrong. Was billed as coming with risotto but what came with the dish was much more like a rice or something way less creamy than a risotto I’m used to getting. The dish also had carrots and squash which were really crunchy… trust me, I like my cooked veggies to crunch but these were barely warmed through. Other people at the table liked their food… mostly steaks… so maybe that’s where I went wrong and next time I’ll need to just go with the red meat. I’m sure I’ll be back(not too many options in Boise for more fine dining) but this time was not so good…

Fantastic dinner, my better half wanted the table side salad so we went to Brickyard and we are glad we did. The service with Jonathon was very good and the food was even better, and that’s saying something! Once again Brickyard demonstrated why it is the premier place for steaks in the Boise area.

What do you say about a place that creates an inner struggle? Do I want to go back and subject my friends to what might happen… like not getting your food for hours or getting any kind of service that’s semi-decent. This last experience was so bad, yet showed hints of good, that it has me torn(not a place you wanna be). Eight of us went for my birthday, close friends, all of us couples. They set us up in a crappy table location that I quickly asked to switch and they accommodated no problem, although we only had ¾ of our table settings all night, and found a tray with napkins on one of our chairs. My past experience here was very good, table side salad, delicious halibut, and a wonderfully char cooked rib eye had me excited to try the only Chateaubriand in town now that Gamekeeper is gone. After getting the table changed is when the struggle began. How can a place that could be soooo good end up so bad compared to Chandlers or even Ruth’s Chris? The ambiance just misses. The live piano is nice but stopped for breaks with no music in between to distract from the chatter of other patrons. The lighting is and décor are great. They struggle with timeliness and service bigtime! We were on time for our 7:30 reservation yet didn’t get our order for apps or drinks taken till after 8, and no food arrived till close to 8:30. Our server had a short and wide build so reaching across our long table was very awkward for her but what made it plan bad service was that she didn’t do the most basic of polite gestures and approach each guest to take their order. She preferred to holler across the long table and have us holler back over the live piano. My best friend actually had to tell her to come over to him to avoid the problem. Are you kidding me? The struggle continues with the food… The Oysters were really good once we got the sauces they forgot after another 10 minutes. I had to ask for water refills multiple times although there were plenty of staff running around(nothing chaps me more than that). We also had to request service for more drinks all night. Table side salad I was so excited for was super drenched in «green Goddess.» The Chateaubriand was ordered medium rare and came out rare rare, gross rare. The potato cakes were yummy! Asparagus was okay, not special. Truffle fries good… strange truffle fry sauce… strange. By the time we got our refired(now medium well) $ 60 filet back there was no room or desire to eat it. Terrible because it’s now a $ 150 meal and I really like the way they season the steak with salt and pepper. Throwing it out just sucked.(No we couldn’t take it home because we Ubered and weren’t going home). And now I’m left at the end of the 3 hour meal(with an hour between courses) really enjoying the dueling piano show(genuine talent and fun!), wanting to come back for entertainment and somehow not bring friends to subject to the crap service and«hope it’s great» food. The struggle continues. I’m gonna need therapy.

I’m baffled as to why Brickyard is recognized as fine dining. Fine dining should have crème de la crème wait staff. They should be knowledgeable about their food and offer modest suggestions. Brickyard seems to have a handful of mediocre staff, which if in a race would be lapped by the tortoise. I believe that fine dining should pay attention to detail. A medium-rare steak should not be served rare and a patron’s glass should never be empty. Unfortunately, both my martini and water glass were empty for long periods of time. For as trendy as Brickyard is, I couldn’t get over the loud metal rock show going right above us. It was very off and made the experience cheap. However, the best part of the meal was when the dueling piano Rockstars jumped on set and started getting the crowd rowdy. For my next visit, I’ll skip the overpriced meal for some stiff drinks and entertainment.
