If I could have given zero stars, I would have, but apparently you guys need some sort of validation. A good friend of mine who is a business owner of(surprise!) a tattoo shop(whose husband is one of the best and most respected in the country), very professional, does volunteer work CONSTANTLY helping animals(and fostering them, including finding them homes until they do) and is one of THE nicest people I’ve ever met in my life was treated like crap by your employees because she«looked» like a junkie. If having tattoos makes you look like a junkie, then by all means I won’t be coming in there anytime soon. Really? Are we at the point where she’s physically assaulted, the cops are called, she’s restrained until they arrive, draw her blood and is verbally abused? That’s DISGUSTING and that’s NOT good customer service, needless to say. Not that it matters, but she had MORE than enough money to pay for what she was planning on, but you guys decided it would be better to judge a book by its cover. SHAMEONYOU! I will NEVER step foot in your store again and I know for a fact you lost A LOT of customers because of this. If I were you, I’d offer her a damned good consolation present; and I mean damned good.

Very saddened to hear that your loss prevention likes to profile people with tattoos. Spending $ 400+ in your store today and walking out led to being grabbed, screamed at, police called, being accused of using drugs, called names, blood drawn… all for the police to let her go because loss prevention was incorrect with their accusations. This woman runs a very successful business here in boise and gives back the the community in so many ways. I will never return to any of your locations! SHAMEONYOU!!!

Disappointed with the MAC Cosmetics counter. Set up an appointment to get set with Mac foundation and overall cosmetics… arrived and told it was running late, switched off to another staff member(there were 2 on duty), the person helping me couldn’t have cared less… rushed through the 20 min appointment with a 10 minute break in the middle to help other customers(while the other employee chatted with a friend). I was purchasing $ 300 of product and couldn’t have been less important. Didn’t even cover brows, lips, remover… I’ll purchase online in the future. My experience with the rest of this Macy’s is directly opposite of the Mac counter… other departments are highly responsive and great customer service. Just not the Mac counter.

I was very frustrated with my visit to Macy’s. The clothes were so disorganized you couldn’t find anything. We asked for help but we waited 10 minutes and no one came, so we asked for help again. We were greeted by someone who clearly didn’t want to help, they walked so fast we couldn’t keep up, then the person disappeared. Needless to say I left and went to Dillard’s. Dillard’s was organized and people were helpful. It is no wonder Macy’s filed bankruptcy. If I wanted a disorganized mess with unhelpful people I would shop at Ross.

My affection for Macy’s has increased over the years. The principal cause for the boost is simple: friendly, efficient, and above-and-beyond great service. My last visit to Macy’s was no exception. I arrived the day before the first day of school for the year(so…chaos). I needed, quite specifically, 3 pairs of boys khaki shorts. They were out of the size I needed(understandable, it was crazy busy). I approached the counter feeling tentative about bothering them on a day when they were so clearly swamped, but needed the shorts and wanted to know whether or not they had more on the floor I hadn’t seen. The clerk immediately offered to check the back room and when finding none – she offered to order them and have them delivered directly to my home(no charge for shipping). Amazing! She also was able to do all the above quite quickly so we weren’t left waiting and no line began to form behind us. Again – amazing. Another thing to note, is that if you use the coupon mailers, their prices are quite reasonable. After the sale price and coupon were calculated in, I was able to get the 3 pairs of regularly priced $ 32 boys(older boys, not young or toddler) Nautica khaki shorts for less than $ 14 each, which I thought was a great deal! Get to it!

I’m constantly perplexed at lack of customer service at the MAC cosmetics counter. I walked in and tried to look at the eye shadow and the sales girl stood right in front of them, helping another customer with a different product. She had plenty of room to scoot over, yet did not. No attempt to show me colors that may have appealed to me or to even engage in conversation. Guess I’ll start buying it online.

Without going into all the details, I was in need of some customer assistance today that turned into«detective» work and multiple phone calls. Being the Christmas season you can imagine the number of customers and the hustle and bustle all around, but they took the time to help me. Shout out to Julie and Misty! They were pleasant and courteous and made a point to be sure my inconvenience was not shrugged off. I walked away with a smile on my face and the item I needed. I call that success.

This review is for the Men’s suit department. There’s a good selection of modern name-brand suits. I’ve bought a couple suits here, and Dan has always been helpful setting me up with the correct jacket/pants sizes. They have measured me up well and sent my suit to alterations for a perfect fit.
