I have lived about 2 blocks away from this place since they moved here. It’s really nothing more than a bar, which is what they should really call themselves«Lucky 13BAR.» The food is nothing special and like the rest of the reviews point out the customer service is inconsistent and the atmosphere is what keeps the beer flowing for passers by.

Ordered an Alfredo pizza with bacon and artichoke hearts and the porter on tap. The beer selection was good, but the pizza was mediocre. Not fantastic, but would try a different kind sometime. Also, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. We sat on the spacious patio with our dog and enjoyed the atmosphere and service.

Special! They have a special! Sunday’s during afternoon NFL football(2pm-close) they 13 dollar medium specialty pizzas! Football and pizza. I have soda on Sunday’s for 2 dollars free refills but for you beer drinkers you can get two for ones on pbr/diet coors.(Kinda like free refill?) go there for fun on Sunday’s! Maybe we’ll cheer for the same team together! Maybe we’ll be rivals! Nonetheless we will all maybe get out of there for under 20 bucks for once!

This is the second time at Lucky 13 so that tells you right away that it is not horrible. We had the Manfred Pie, a pizza with spinach, red peppers, mushrooms, garlic and onions. It hit the proper pizza place in my stomach. I passed on the beer although they have some good selections that I tried last time here. The place has a nice casual feel, wear your little boy(or little girl) short pants and flip-flops if you like. We ate outside and wondered if they’d find us to deliver the food and they did. The service was quick and friendly. The place was clean which is good because I’ve walked out of places with junk on the tables and floors. I recommend this place if you happen to be in the area. Disclosure: There are no other restaurants in the area. But I’ll go back here again.

Great when you want a laid back patio or place to grab a casual bite. Their Lawrence of Lancaster never fails to satisfy and their pizza is pretty dang good. Nice having them on the east side. :)

The patio is nice. Haven’t tried anything from the bar. My husband works near here so eats here occasionally. Says he’s only gotten 2 sandwiches and that Jimmy Johns is better. We tried a pizza today. About a notch above cafeteria food. I don’t see anything special about the food, but it seems like a cool place to chill.

Lucky 13 better step it up or they will be lucky to exist a year from now. I’m not sure whey people rave about this. Bread sticks were flavorless and tasted store bought. The white sauce that came with it tasted like weak garlic flavored miracle whip. The medium sized pizzas were small for the price. The crust was bland and nothing special. It honestly was about on par with DIjourno from the grocery store. The place had awesome outdoor seating and a cool vibe which was a plus. Aaaaaand their water was nice and wet so it quenched my thirst. Will not be returning. See Michelle’s review for further info…

good pizza, horribly run, hardly worth the frustration, especially for take out. customers have to wait in same long line to pay/pickup take out orders, which makes no sense. i’ve pointed this out numerous times to employees when picking up a pie to go, and have to wait more than 10 mins just to pay/pick-up. considering i complained years ago and nothing has changed, either the employees dont care enough to suggest changes to management, or management isnt listening to their customers, either way it’s indication of the attention to customer satisfaction, which is greatly lacking at lucky 13.

Came in with my mom, split a large pesto pizza and had a couple Blue Moons on the patio. I really enjoyed the patio, lots of lovely flowers, shade, and seating. The pizza was good but the crust was very thick and a bit heavy handed with the cheese, but that’s just my not my personal preference. Perfect for some folks I’m sure, and it made for some yummy leftovers when reheated in the oven. Overall a relaxing and fun experience, I would come back when on this end of town.

This is an artisan pizza joint and they do have a full bar and tasty craft brew options on draft. We gathered here for dinner on our first night in Boise and the joint does go by gastropub rules, so you order at the counter and it gets brought to your table. Our party ordered a veggie pizza(I couldn’t tell you the ingredients, because I didn’t eat from that one) a jalapeño bleu cheese pizza, which was outstanding, and my favorite the basque chorizo, ham, and tomato pizza. I screwed up and did not get it with the sauerkraut option(Mike’s Way), so that will have to be remedied next time we’re in town. Service was fine — the food was amazing and the craft brew that I partook of was stellar. The only thing that stands out is that the location sits across the street from some new property developments. On the surface it looks out of place but on the other hand it sits in a prime location for the new and future residents of this neighborhood. They will probably open a second location sometime down the road, because demand will be nuts when everything is said and done.

I had to bring my friend to the airport recently, so we stayed the night at her relatives. This bar was about ten minutes from the house on foot. It was a great experience. We didn’t get to eat there as we had already had dinner, so I can’t speak as to the food quality, but the drinks were made well and were priced very decently. The bartender was very nice and attentive. We sat outside on the patio and it was a great time. I would absolutely come back again. The only thing I can say that needs attention is the liquor display. It’s a bit lack luster, but hey, it’s a nice place to have a beverage, so it’s alright!

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Lucky 13, and it was at the old place. I had a small pizza for $ 13, which for Boise seems a tad overpriced. It was tasty however– it was pesto, artichoke, tomato. No service as it was self-serve order at the bar. It certainly isn’t anything like the old place, which was constantly full of energy and people. Too bad Lucky 13. I wouldn’t send people here from out of town on purpose, but eat here if you just want an okay place. Don’t eat here if you remember when it used to be amazing, because then it is definitely a one star in comparison.

A Boise institution. A must visit. My family first discovered this placecin the early ‘80s in the Hyde Park neihborhood.(Before Hyde Park got overrun with hipsters.) Now it is located in the growing Harris Ranch area by Barber Park. Conveniently located on the Greenbelt ride out toward Lucky Peak and a reasonable walk from the park or to and from the Shakespeare festival. Not far from Mtn. Bike trails and rock climbing opportunities. A great stop after completing a float trip down the river and trip back to recover your vehicle. Didn’t catch any fish? Have a pizza! The menu is simple and plentiful with pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. It gets busy, especially on sunny bike riding days. No waitstaff to serve your table, so be patient as you stand in line at the counter. Be courteous to your fellow patrons and have your mind made up and order ready when it is your turn. You are going to enjoy it, so don’t be afraid to order something new or unfamiliar. You are going to want to return and try something different with each visit. You can order something light or go all out and get a pizza large enough to satisfy a party of 6. Despite the busyness the service is fast. Always have had less than a 10 minute wait regardless of the number of people in my party. A good selection of craft beers and wines available to satisfy any palate. During the off season the bar is only staffed after 3:30pm, so be ready to get back in line if you need another beverage. Keep an eye open and make your move at earliest convenience. A large outdoor deck makes enjoying the weather and conversation with your party a memorable experience. Pet friendly so feel free to stop in while walking the dog. It’s Boise, so smile and be Two levels of indoor seating. Large garage doors opened on warm sunny days keep the inside comfortable if you want to limit exposure to the sun. Family friendly, but sign posted asking adults to keep the kids under control and volume down. It may not be exactly the same Lucky 13 I knew in my teen years, but it continues to be the place I always feel the need to visit when I’m in the neighborhood.

Please see Michelle R.‘s review dated 10÷2÷2013. Michelle’s review sums up my experience almost to a «T» and I have no idea who she is. The only reasons Lucky 13 was given two stars: Clean establishment, convenient location for SE Boise locals and«eh» food. We paid for an overpriced $ 228-piece pizza that tasted fine, but the quality of a frozen pizza. We assume the price was so high just to pay the mortgage bill of this sad place. We honestly left the place feeling sad, the atmosphere was just… sad. The customer service was minimal and even that was done poorly. I walked into Lucky 13 to the bar side, being that it was my first time I was just looking around. The two individuals behind the bar did not acknowledge me because they were too busy talking to each other(it’s not like anyone else was inside this place). They definitely saw me though. I walked over to the other side where you can order food. Again, no acknowledgement despite me smiling and saying«hi» to the gal. She just looked at me. No «Welcome,» «How are ya» or «Do you have any questions,» just blank stares. Maybe they were surprised they actually had a customer? We ordered the pizza and walked upstairs to seat ourselves because we just felt awkward sitting in the empty room downstairs with the distant, unfriendly employees. We ate the frozen pizza on freakin’ paper plates and with plastic silverware(that they don’t even recycle). Seriously, invest in some dishes… the indoor picnic theme is not cute. There are wayyyy too many great places to eat in Boise than to spend time or money at Lucky 13.

Yucky 13. Being my local, I yearn for them to make the pizza and sandwiches edible. Would love to have to edit this rating soon.

Since my last review, we decided to give the Lucky another shot. We noticed a significant improvement in the quality of service as well as a slight improvement in the salad. The pizza(aside from coming out burnt and crispy one time) has kept its standing as delicious. My girlfriend and I also carried out our long-desired plan to ride our bikes out here one afternoon, and it was full of great times. We love all of the recent tweaks and are proud to call this a destination once again!

Like cafeteria level food and service? This place is for you. The only saving grace of Lucky 13 is the beer list, but even that does not make it worth the drive.

Would I go back here? The only way that question would result in an affirmative answer is if immediate demise due to starvation was the alternative. Otherwise, not so much. I write few two star reviews given I simply don’t invest the time to do that. But this place was recommended to us and it is worth the time for sharing our«huh?» experience so other visitors new to Boise may weigh it against other input. In particular if you are, as we were, on your way to spend time at the lovely Boise Botanical Garden and figure Lucky 13 is a good stop on the way. Bottom line = all«meh». Based on my husband’s and my experience, you can do a lot better in Boise. Voting with our feet and wallet, we would pick any one of the umpteen better alternatives next time. The young woman behind the counter wasn’t as friendly as we’d come to enjoy everywhere in our Boise week but pleasant enough that I came up with 2 stars for the experience here. That’s where the good news ends, I’m afraid. The drill is order at the counter, you’ll get a number and they’ll deliver food to your table. Not that we really needed a number given on the high noon lunch time we visited there weren’t many customers in the place. The menu is sandwiches, pizza, appetizers and none of it particularly creative. The food was served with plastic ware and flimsy paper plates. Plates that blew right off the table outside in the wind, not uncommon in that part of Boise I hear, when the server put them down. Then again, chasing one’s plate around as it blows about is one way to exercise before a meal. The pita /hummus /veggies plate we ordered was edible but bordered on flavor free. Still, at under ten bucks it wasn’t expensive flavor less food so that keeps them in two star range as well. The ambiance was good enough on the deck outside, but inside was another matter. I acknowledge that is a different strokes for different folks issue. Unilocal is opinion after all and mine of the ambiance is once again ‘meh’. Accessibility here is woeful. Inexcusable given this is a relatively new building. Although made to look like an old garage is actually a newly designed and built structure and this place lacks some basics. Given the size of the deck and the amount of(all high counter) seating in the bar, I imagine my husband and I are in the minority in our two star opinion here as they must fill it up to have built it so large. Different strokes. We recommend a pass on this one.
