I wish I would have read the other review as they don’t carry any professional gear. I was looking for a flash for a shoot that I have tomorrow and they only have a couple to choose from which isn’t a big issue but they didn’t have the one I was looking for. When taking to the salesman he repeatedly finished my sentences for me and spoke to me as if I didn’t know what I was doing. I left wondering if it was my age, gender, or situation. I’ve shot internationally for a while now and had an issue with my flash but was going to buy one just in case I needed it for my shoot. I didn’t want to pay the 15% restocking fee though if I didn’t use it… Everyone in Boise is so nice, including, the other staff, but I never want to deal with him again. Which since they don’t carry pro gear, I won’t have to.

Outside of the Best Buy/Target/Walmart scene, this is the ONLY camera shop in Boise. It makes sense, Boise does not have a huge photography scene but this store seems to be getting along just fine. Lets begin with WHOTHEYCATERTO. Pros do not bother reading this because they do not offer equipment to you. This store is amateur only. Which is totally fine for Boise. They store is well stocked with beginner to advanced amateur gear. They offer the usual cameras from Canon and Nikon. Canon offerings range from the beginner Xi to the 7D and offer a similar range of Nikon products from at the D7000 to the D300. They offer basic Canon EF and Nikon Nikor lenses, along with the full lens line by Tamron. Accessories are easy to come by and they are always well stocked. If anything is out of stock, the helpful staff can bring in the item in question within the day or first thing the next day. They also stock photography ready telescopes and binoculars and plenty of photography literature. Overall, a well stocked little store! On to the staff. Everyone is very helpful! Most of them are local photographers and are more than willing to talk shop and let you know when and where you should shoot Idaho’s beautiful back country. Also, they are very helpful when it comes to picking out the right gear for your shooting style. I am convinced that the sales people here are more about helping you shape your shooting style than they are about pushing the latest Lowepro bag on you. I have been to several shops where the staff always tries to push a newer model of camera on you than what you asked to look at. Don’t get me wrong, they do work hard to make their sales but they are in no way condescending wondering why you aren’t buying the new Nikon Dwhatever instead of the model you asked to see. I for one appreciate that. They are not aggressive and I am comfortable enough to repeatedly ask to see cameras even though I have no intention of buying them. The friendly staff will keep me coming back for sure.
