The donuts are decent. For around six donuts, an apple fritter, a bear claw and the bacon topped maple, I paid around $ 14.65. They are good, but not«that good.» I have been almost as pleased going to Albertson’s(who had a better selection!)

The only donuts in the valley. Not made by robots. Not overpriced hype. Good, traditional, proper donuts.

Was told this was the best donut house in Boise went there but two apple fritters and a maple bar with bacon topping the printers were so dry and overcooked it would make me not want to eat apple fritter again and a maple bar did not taste like a maple bar would not recommend this place to anybody they were not fracture even this is a 1030 in the morning

A local told me that this is the best donut shop in town. I haven’t been to any other shops in Boise, but I can say that DK donuts is the same league as some of the best shops in Seattle. The service was very good: courteous, fast and precise. The selection was good as well, even though our visit was late in the morning. And the donuts are wonderful. I am partial to buttermilk old fashioned donuts, they were the ideal ratio of crunchy crust and tangy middle. I could eat a dozen of them. I don’t know if these are the best in town but I am not going to any others to find out. And thanks to the manager at Les Schwab for directing us here.

Their donuts are unique. The Bacon Maple Bar is to die for. Long is such a nice guy and these are some of the most hardworking folks in the city. Definitely worth a stop in the morning.

DK Donuts is your typical old school divey donut shop. There are typically crumbs on the tables and the dining chairs are almost inevitably askew. The windows and doors are usually a bit smudged. And, still? I’m a fan. Because? Donuts. Their buttermilk bar, while not the largest in town, is always perfectly rendered with just the right amount dense buttermilk-y fabulousness. Their chocolate cake donuts are dynamite. They have maple bacon bars on occasion for the sweet/salty fans among you. And, while, the dining room disarray may coax most out the door with their donuts boxed. Nothing brings back the college years like brushing crumbs off a table and chair with a napkin, hunkering down while wearing a bleary eyed expression and comfy sweatpants for a donut and a bottle of ice-cold chocolate milk(definitely chocolate milk and not coffee, which tastes little better than gas station joe). The last time I was there it was 10pm, and as I drove down State street with friends, someone shouted, «The open sign at DK!!! It’s winking at me! Stop! Donuts! We must!!» I’m not saying it wasn’t me who shouted that… but I’m also not saying it was(It’s nearly Halloween… a review with an air of mystery seems apt)… Get to it!

The doughnuts were decent but the doughnut holes were ridiculously delicious. They were like fluffy doughnut pillows that melt in your mouth. Not to mention, the place is super cheap. We got six doughnuts, a dozen doughnut holes, and three milks for under ten bucks. It’s not a cool hang out joint, the place is really dated, but don’t let that keep you from trying the crazy good doughnut holes!

Sorry for being my #2 choice, but I am happy because DK Donuts is always open when others don’t. I like the donuts. The people are friendly. The place is ok, not really a spot to hang out. It was so hot inside that we had to step outside to eat the donuts. Overall, good donuts, good price.

I stopped by, we ate 3 donuts and some form of sausage in a bun… They asked if I wanted it in the Microwave… The horror The place is straight out of the 1980’s…I wont be back. Saw some post claiming these are California doughnuts, well just like the pizza, you can keep them.

Great donuts. They were warm, fresh and tasty. It’s hard to make a bad donut, but even harder to make a great donut. DK nailed it

Sorry guys and gals my experience was not great. When I arrived I parked next to what appeared to be a sewer drain that had over flowed. :/when I came in at 10am(late I know) there wasn’t much of a selection. I got a maple bacon and a strawberry sprinkle. The maple bacon was a very light kind of «airy» doughnut, I give it a 2 stars for the quality bacon. The strawberry sprinkle was on a plane donut and was pretty simple with a dense kind of dough and a sweet frosting. 2 stars for the strawberry sprinkle. Service was great however the selection was limited and all I wanted was a peanut roll :(I have yet to find a good Bakery in Boise as I just moved here.

Is there ever a really bad donut? No. The donuts were small and had a little artificial flavoring taste to them. But this beats a grocery store donut. The buttermilk was good.

I would be reviewing the bacon maple bar had we been there earlier in the day, but alas, there wasn’t much left when we stopped by one recent afternoon. Sometimes simple is best and I gotta say that my simple raised sugar doughnut was light, airy, and not greasy at all. Meanwhile Husband enjoyed a cream-filled one that I would be happy to properly describe, but I didn’t get a single teeny bite. Nor a pic. His fault. Totally! Suggestion to folks who live or work nearby… support these folks please, so those of us that can only visit from out of town sporadically can come get doughnut goodness when we do!

I have simple tastes. I don’t need the Krispy machine of glazing to buy donuts… Sure it’s cool to look at and watch, but DK has the corner on the fried yumminess sector. The thing that stands out for me is the value. a dozen for $ 9GREATDEAL! I am pretty cheap, so the price is great for me. on top of that, the donuts are amazing. I have not had one that I didn’t like. Granted, I haven’t tried all of them yet. All in all, this place is one of the few small town donut shops left. No thanks, Corporate Dunkin-Krispy, I’ll take local.

They rep the California-style donut hard here. If you’re into that sort of thing, and who isn’t, I’d recommend these dudes(or DK’s much improved Meridian outpost) over Nampa’s similar Daylight Donuts. The maple bacon bar hogs all the hype, and it’s totally justified, but DK’s greatest achievement in donut engineering is actually their old-fashioned crueller. All their cake donuts delight me, but that crueller represents everything that makes California donuts great. Not only is it submerged in hot grease long enough for a perfectly crisped exterior to form, it’s also smothered with enough saucy, butter-loaded glaze that the top few layers of the pastry get thoroughly soaked. It’s special. Like a donut should be.

I can’t say a bad thing about DK. Their donuts are amazing — especially the bacon maple bars. Try them, you won’t be disappointed.

DK’s makes the best doughnuts in Boise. They are reasonably priced and delicious. The staff is friendly and the place has a neighborhood feel, not a plastic corporate one. No, their doughnuts are not made form«scratch», but who does make doughnuts from«scratch». Everything has to come in a container of some sort. Must they mill their own grain to be considered authentic? Flour, sugar, sprinkles, these things all come in a container. Who makes their own lemon filling, huh, WHO? No one that’s who. Best doughnuts in Boise… PERIOD!

Ahh DK Donuts– some mornings the smell is like Heaven on earth. others it’s like demonic temptation from the other place! The folks at DK produce fresh wonderful donuts and sell them at extremely fair prices. I don’t find their brewed coffee to be among the best in town, but they do a nice job with espresso drinks. Try a buttermilk bar. after five years on Boise I’ve yet to find a better one– they are amazing! Krispy Crème? BAH, if you like a puff of air that melts when you stick it in your mouth! DK donuts have some chutzpah and they really help your coffee break tide you over until lunch! They just upgraded their hours. they are now open past 2:30pm! Edited to add: I don’t do «fancy» donuts. my tastes are to the simple. The plain or plain glazed old fashioneds and buttermilk bars. Contrary to other reviews, I’ve found their apple fritters to be tasty as well. Opinions are like armpits, everyone has them. Oh and by the by I am neither a family friend nor a relation of ANYONE at DK donuts. I work across the street. If you’re in it for the frosting, the filling or the sprinkles, go up the street to Albertsons. I also said the donuts I have had have been FRESH, and the last time I looked, fresh and homemade are not synonyms.

DK is simple but they do what they do. amazingly well, with super friendly service. My sister and I went a few days ago after a job interview for a quick pick-me-up. Yum. Crème-filled, flaky delicacies for under a dollar can’t be beat. Get napkins, they can be sticky and messy but ooohh so good.
