We were staying at the Days Inn across the street and couldn’t resist running over to Bruster’s to fill up on their shakes and ice cream. Service was good and quick and there were a bunch of people there. Seemed like a pretty popular spot.

What’s not to love about Bruster’s? Massive portions, even the smallest size. Free cones for the littlest kids. And a wide variety of flavors that changes often. My favorite is the Blueberry Cobbler, but that wasn’t on offer tonight. Instead, I had the Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye, which had big bits of peanut butter mixed through and the occasional buckeye candy. Delicious and I only ate half of it. Decent seating area but I imagine that during the much warmer months, the place gets seriously crazy.

My sister used to work here in High School. Subsequently I’ve sampled many of their tasty, creative flavors that are always changing. My favorite was always Cotton Candy Explosion, a pink concoction filled with pop rocks. Normally the ice cream is loaded and you can feel/hear the little candies crackling on your tongue. However, when I got a scoop today, it was more of a weak firecracker rather than an explosion. Maybe they’re cutting back on the ingredients to save money in the winter/bad economy? The only thing that kind of sucks is that there is no seating and you have to either sit in your car or drive somewhere else to enjoy it. Fun tips: You can also get a half-price banana split on Thursdays if you bring your own banana. They also have free doggie sundaes for your four-legged friends.
