My family and I love coming here. Great lunch prices and the all you can eat dinner plates are a good way to fill up your tummy without breaking your wallet. Plates come with 2 sides and your choice of cornbread or rolls. The salad bar has a lot of selections and soups are available as well. Restaurant is clean and well maintained, staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Update: After my review received a reply from Sonny’s I emailed them a copy of it and they said they would visit the restaurant to make sure they’re following the proper cooking procedures and that they could reimburse me for our meal. Some time passed and I was skeptical that I would receive anything from them but once I opened the letter they sent I was incredibly impressed since instead of just sending a gift card they sent me a $ 50 check which was a complete reimbursement for our meal. Although I can’t say whether or not this location has improved since our visit I greatly appreciate the effort Sonny’s went to in order to make up for our negative experience there. We went out of our way to eat here since my mom wanted to and was craving barbecue and it was a rather unsatisfying experience. Although we were quickly greeted and seated and our waiter was nice the food is way overpriced for the portion size you get and the meat we ordered was undercooked, something that’s completely unacceptable if your restaurant’s claim to fame is barbecue. Once our food arrived the small portions here were immediately evident since you literally only get about one ice cream scoop worth of macaroni and cheese if you choose it as a side which is ridiculous and definitely not worth $ 2.29 if you’re ordering it a la carte. The degree to which our meat was cooked was the most upsetting thing about eating here, however. The relatively small $ 15.49 sampler we ordered included pink ribs along with pink chicken, so much so that I couldn’t get myself to try it even though chicken is the only meat I consume. The pulled chicken sandwich I ordered was certainly not worth $ 5.49 for a generic-tasting barbecue sandwich that had very little flavor without dousing it with one of the bottles of barbecue sauce at the table. Once we arrived home two of the four people in our group had upset stomachs so we will not be eating here again and I wouldn’t recommend that you do, either unless you like raw meat, small portions, and leaving a restaurant feeling both sick and ripped off.

BBQ sandwich… with no BBQ. The meat and my side of okra were soggy and under cooked. However my mac and cheese was cooked completely… burnt actually. It was like the bottom of the barrel kinda thing. The kitchen was short staffed and the waitresses wandering around and bickering with the cook. In front of the guests. My first visit to sonny’s and I spent $ 13. hey the sweet tea is excellent. Overall a bad atmosphere with a lot of tension and very poor food quality. Definitely didn’t win me over for future business.

Delicious lunch!!! I ordered Half Chicken with two side kicks for $ 9.99. My server told me to get their all you can eat chicken for limited time for $ 8.99. I was like heck yea! I ordered white meat for $ 1 up charge. I also ordered a glass of ice water. Their drinking glass is huge! Chicken was cooked perfectly. It was moist and tasty. I added their famous sweet sauce mixed with smokey sauce for that extra heat. Yum!!! You can pick from many sidekicks they have: corn on the cob, cole slaw, beans, sweet potato, fries, etc. you get a choice of corn bread or garlic bread. I ordered garlic bread. They gave me two huge slices. I can only eat one and a half breast. I took the rest home. It was a great affordable lunch with left overs. I really enjoyed it! Next time, I’ll try their ribs, sweet tea, and desert. ^^

Had the best waitress ever after years of coming to Sonny’s. She was young girl but knew how to pay attention and made sure I had everything I wanted for this meal! Her name was Destiny. No kidding and do yourself a favor ask for her.

Service was good. The food was not good. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich. The meat was dry with not flavor.

Good eats clean and well-managed. Décor is a bit like an ihop, but food was worth it.

I didn’t have high expectations in a chain BBQ restaurant, but this was even worse than I anticipated, which was magnified by how overpriced it was. I’m not even slighting it for having tomato based BBQ sauce, as BBQ is so regional and it is lame how everyone thinks that the way people make it in their hometown is the only way to do it right. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. This sauce, however, was bland even for tomato based sauce. They had 4 or 5 different kinds, which were all essentially ketchup with varying degrees of heat. I got a sliced pork sandwich. The meat was dry, lacking of any smoke flavor, and unseasoned. I got this abomination of a sandwich, a side of passable mac and cheese, and a salad for about $ 11, and that was the«lunch special.» I’m not cheap. if it had been good I wouldn’t have cared, but it was pretty awful. I can’t imagine anyone who has ever had good BBQ before enjoying this place. On the plus side, the service was outstanding and very friendly.

I have eaten at this location intermittently for years and ate there again today. While the service was fine, good even, overall the food just isn’t as good as it used to be. The cole slaw was excellent, but the rest was pretty mediocre. Dirty tables/seats/sauce bottles have been a problem before and were again today. Today might be the last time I eat there.

Second visit was just as good… Solid three stars thus far! I’ll let you know if it changes. ;)
