Awesome little place with everything you could ever want in the middle of nowhere! Cold beer, great BBQ, NFL Ticket, Wifi, great view and down to earth ppl running this joint. Keep it up Billy!

Billy SAVED OUR LIFE! We were traveling to Comfort and realized that we were miles away from a gas station with the gas light on. We were beginning to practice our hitch hiking stance when we saw the sign for Hillbillyz. We’re so thankful for nice people like Billy who give gas to perfect strangers! We’ll be back!

Taking the long way? This is a great Texas country beer & BBQ stop. Take a tour of the old car parts Décor and admire the vintage Indian motorcycle. A beer joint you’ll be glad you stopped at. Note: blink and you’ll pass it, nothing in either direction for many miles.

Keep it Texas!!! Please keep this place real. All you transplants and tourist from CA, east coast and Mexico, this is not some boutique place that sells t-​shirts and bumper stickers. This is a beer drinking, bike riding, beer joint.

This off the beaten path hang out became our favorite place in all of hill country. Billy and his wife provide a place that feels like your own back porch with great BBQ hamburgers and a Reuben like none other. Always the coldest of beer makes it worth the drive. And let’s face it driving in the hill country is indeed the best for Sunday drives. They are only open on weekends. A real find!

Eat there often, only open Friday thru Sunday. Great BBQ, burgers, and cold beer! Atmosphere is great, laid back, prices are more than fair.

It was the perfect day. We were headed out of the great city of Austin to explore the great Texas Hill Country. We weren’t about to let empty stomachs ruin our adventure. It was when that first pang of hunger hit that we saw that beautiful sign: Hillbillyz 777 feet away. Our car became so hysterically excited we missed the turn. We threw a U-​turn and ran inside the perfectly placed restaurant right on pond.
The atmosphere was second to none with deer heads, funny signs, and an Egyptian pharaoh on the wall.
Our stomachs were quite satisfied with the sausage and brisket lathered in that signature Hillbillyz sauce (we finished the bottle). It was perfect.
Our server was kind, courteous and on the ball. She even gave us a full loaf of bread still on the wonder bread plastic wrapping.
If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend Hillbillyz. Plus, it’s fun to kick back and play some poker with the regulars.
