Good and cheap. Ordered the cucumber roll twice and asked for spicy mayonnaise. Was disappointed to see on my bill that the spicy mayo came at an extra cost and would have appreciated the waiter notifying me of this beforehand. However, I probably will be returning.

I am sorry that I can’t give this place more than 2 stars. When we walked into the restaurant it smelled horrible. My husband said fishy but I thought it smelled like the place was cleaned with dirty water. We should have left but I was with my family. I ordered the sushi deluxe. I love sushi and never part with my food but I gave my tuna roll and two sushi pieces to my brother. The sushi was tasteless and it was clearly a poor grade. My family ordered teriyaki chicken and it was tasteless and had very little teriyaki sauce on it. I would not recommend this place at all.

This place earned every one of these five stars. Let me first qualify my review by saying that I’ve eating a ton of sushi in my lifetime, and all over, at some of the highest rated sushi places in LA and SF… And Yokohama tops them all. There are a few things that I am basing this assessment on: 1. Overall freshness of the food. This includes not only the fish used for the sashimi and rolls, but the veggies used in the salads and the ginger and wasabi. A lot of places focus too much on the freshness of their fish and the rest of the ingredients end up suffering. Not here. Everything tasted like it had just been caught/cut. 2. Balance of flavors. The rolls we got were the perfect amount of sweet, spicy and peppery. The ingredients were balanced so you could taste all the additions but still taste the fish, lobster and crab. They didn’t drown them in spicy mayo or sriracha to try an make them look better than they are like everywhere else. Which brings me to my next point. 3. Presentation of the food. Even the basic roll we got(By the Border) looked amazing, but the other two: holy crap. The lobster roll had a lobster tail in the middle of the plate The sushi bar salad was the best I have ever had. If you’re a sushi purist, want some of the freshest sushi you’ll ever eat you have to try this place.

My friends and I have been getting our sushi fix at Yokohama loyaly for the last 5 years, if not longer. Good sushi at a decent price? Yes, please! They also always have a beer and sake deal which is great for a sushi night with friends — without spending the lavish prices! I’ve tried many of their dishes over time and most have been delicious. Their sushi is almost always consistent with maybe one or two disappoints over a course of 5 years. This is definitely my go-to sushi spot.

If i had to rate this no stars i would, this sushi place is not sanitary at all it smells weird and the staff isn’t as nice as they should, but thats all secondary to me until i got home and tasted this sushi idk what it had or what was wrong with it but it tasted very strange I think the rice or the fish went bad but it was not a pleasant taste. but i finished it cause i didn’t just pay 24 dollars for nothing. not going back ever though. they need to work on making sure everything is fresh. someone can really get sick.

I really dont like to levar bad reviews but at the same time as a customer when you buy something you are expecting to get the best you could possibly get The staff is nice the location ok, but the food is terrible, really plain flavor and fishy taste for seafood I love sushi and I couldn’t even pass it! It is expensive for the quality and amount of portion, a lot of things to work on sadly

Charged me extra $ 6 just because I requested to substitute red tuna for something else(got salmon) in my sashimi deluxe. Sashimi pieces can’t get any smaller. You can get a lot more food for smaller price at other Japanese restaurants. Saitos for example.

This place is small, tucked away in the corner of a fairly busy shopping center. I have never seen them be very busy, so a great place to go at lunch or dinner rush hour. Doesn’t have the best ambiance, but the sushi rolls are very good at average cost. Great place to get sushi on you own or with some friends. But not a place to have a romantic meal. BTW, the Alligator Roll is totally worth getting!

Great small casual sushi place with a great«special»(many rolls are always 50% off).

If you decide to go there after my review just remember to look in your water cup and I’m sure you’ll find dirt or just random particles floating in your water. On top of that, I get that ordering sushi an hour before they close can be annoying for the chefs but after getting warm sushi, they not only wasted my time but also theirs because it only ended up in the garbage.

Not inexpensive, but the quality of the sushi is the best I’ve had all of my years living in Boca Raton. It is fresh and melts in your mouth. The miso & spicy kimchee soup and other appetizers were delcious as well. Servers were friendly and helpful and the chefs did an amazing job. Service was excellent and the«Love Boat» was the perfect amount for two people. I look forward to returning at a later date to try some more of their platters. My wife and I went after the lunch rush on a Saturday and had the place mostly to ourselves.

Came here a few nights ago with 5 of my friends. Out of the 6 of us, 4 ended up sick and 3 of us were vomitting. Stay away unless you need to clean your system!

Couldn’t afford a tip because I didn’t have enough money in my card. I could only pay for the meal. Waiter told me he would never serve me again and to fuck off. So rude and unprofessional, tip is not a right

This is another place I have been going to since I was a kid. While the ownership has changed hands several times, not much else has. It is still small and quaintly located in the corner of a pretty quiet shopping plaza. There are just a few tables and a bar, though the dining options are plentiful. In recent times, there is a young manager who is extremely friendly, accommodating and from what I can tell, keeps things running efficiently and pleasantly. However, there are a few downers. For one, I ordered a spicy octopus appetizer dish(something I order from every sushi restaurant) and it was incredibly smaller than the one I typically order from sushi hashi, which is about the same price(if not slightly less) but with probably twice the amount, if not more. Then, the $ 6 cup of soup I ordered was also disappointing, as it had this fishy taste to it, something Ive never experienced while eating sushi, like fishy as in fish market fish, not clean and fresh. it also leaked in the takeout bag. The miso soup was very very low on tofu and seaweed, which is so off-putting since its tofu and seaweed, were not talking about lobster chowder. All in all, I’d say its worth going to, but, and this is true of many sushi places in my experience, the quality definitely noticeably suffers when it comes to takeout.

Definitely my favorite go to place when I’m craving sushi. The food is fresh and very tasty and the staff is super friendly. My boyfriend and I would agree that JC is our favorite staff member. He always makes us feel welcomed! Other than that they offer half priced rolls I believe every evening and they deliver as well. Would recommend!

The food is actually ok by Florida standard(forget about good Japanese food if you are in Florida when the chef is not Japanese) though the sushi does not taste very fresh sometimes… Service wise, you really have to try your luck… Once the waitress billed me for something I did not order… Then another time after I entered, the main waitress told me to sit wherever I want to. I picked a table near the front door and for the next ~10 min(I did try make eye contact with the waiting staff but they were so busy serving others) NONE of the waiting staff bothered to talk to me… Finally I went to them and ask why they took care all the other customers who came in after me and they did not even say sorry… One waitress just rolled her eyes and asked ‘so what can I do for you?’ I will never go there again… There are tons of mediocre Japanese places in the Boca area with better service to choose from.

I love trying new places… so when suggested to go to Yokohama for dinner, I was all for it! But it really was nothing to write home about. Here’s the disclaimer. There are 2 locations. I went to the west Boca location. Apparently the one out in East Boca is better. But back to this location. Its a small restaurant… tucked between other stores. Blink and you might miss it. We had a group of 7 and they were very accommodating, especially since we were definitely one of those loud, obnoxious groups that laugh, do sake bombs… oh you have seen them before.(What can I say… we were catching up after not seeing each other for years). Their menu is pretty big… but they have a ½ off menu which is basically their menu but all half off. I ordered the angry tuna roll and a beer. If you order 3 beers, you get a free sake. Do you see where the sake bomb came from. Oh yes, and I also got a seaweed salad. Seaweed salad is where its at. Super delicious and fresh. Then my sushi came around… eh. It was good… but again, nothing to write home about. It was deep fried, which I guess I didn’t see when I ordered it. It was ok. I’ve had better. The service was fine, everyone was super nice. Prices were decent. I just felt as though I’ve had better sushi. But don’t take my word for it. My one friend who was there lives by this place. Give it a try!
