Read Glenn G’s review. They were 100% right, I didn’t want to believe it was that bad but it is even worse then they wrote. They must have been sold. Even the chicken wings sucked, usually it’s hard mess up a fried chicken wing up. The scallops on the happy family were bad, can’t fake a scallop not being fresh, they go in a couple days, so gross. It used to be really really good food. Even the vegetables were really bad. What a shame, someone bought this place who doesn’t care at all, aweful food now…

Used to be our regular take out place but lately the food has been bland. I ordered a spicy szechuan dish and was was actually rather bland. About as spicy as a glass of milk. Going to try another place next time

I agree with the previous reviewers. This place, that was once marginally reasonable, now totally sucks, both from a service point of view, and a food quality point of view. There are either new owners, or something internally happened at the restaurant which has compromised the whole experience. Tonight I waited 1.5 hrs for a damned delivery that never came. They are 3.4 miles away and have the nerve to blame«traffic». Lying scumbags. NEVERAGAIN. Oh, and did you notice the phony 5 star review posted by an Asian who has awful grammar skills? Give me a break.

I don’t know why they are some negative comments of this place you have to try it for yourself the food is really fresh really tasty and the people here are so nice and probably the best prices in town for the service they provide it is just great. I definitely recommend it.

This place is consistently inconsistent. Sometimes the dishes that come out are out of this world terrific and then there are times that you have to wonder if this is the same place you ordered take-out from. Last night was one of the worst… I have eaten Thai Shrimp many times but it had no taste. The over abundance of peppers were uncalled for as were the baby peas and carrots. I think its time to take a vacation away from this place. The food has been going down and I’m tired of their poor presentation.

The service is terrible; you walk in; they look at you and ignore you; they take phone order after phone order while they can’t get your order ready: the food is ok, but definitely not worth the crappy service

This place is solid. I usually try something different each time I go and have not been disappointed. Is it authentic ethnic food? No. Is it the best American-style Chinese food I’ve ever had? No. I think it is, however, the best takeout Chinese in the Boca area. The people are always very kind.

For the past decade(and plus some) this has been my «Go-To» Chinese Take-Out restaurant… * * * Always greeted by the same friendly faces * * * Always get the order right * * * Always consistent in taste * * * Always consistent in portion size * * * Always good quality meats and veggies * * * Always Delicious That is until about a month ago when EVERYTHING fell apart… Being that Marisol and I are creatures of habit and generally order the same three dishes(sometimes one dish may change but same dishes is our M.O.)… which is good for reviewing a restaurant; we know that«OUR» dishes were off a few weeks ago and we should’ve seen the issues the moment we picked up our dishes… I’ll explain: For an amazingly long time our typical experience at Orient House Express goes like this… We dial the restaurant on the phone and say we would like to place an order and they always ask«would you like the Boneless Sparerib appetizer, a large Pork Fried Rice and Chicken Egg Foo Young(well-done)?»… We say yes or tell them what we would like to change, 15 minutes later we go to the store front take out restaurant and pick up our order. It was always nice that they track your past orders so you can make ordering easier. We eat our food and have NEVER had a dish taste bad and never had a mistake EVER. Let me point out a VERYIMPORTANTFACTOR… the SAME lady is ALWAYS there; usually answers the phone too but ALWAYS at the counter… and the same tall guy is there too… I think they were a couple and the lady’s kid is there sometimes too WHATCHANGED We called to place an order and was surprised to not recognize the voice on the phone but then again she could have been on bathroom break, running an errand or taking a night off… Opened the door and no one looked familiar… No super nice lady behind the counter… no tall guy(possibly her husband) not there… and even the other people there looked unfamiliar… Another recognizable change was the one old computer was replace with two brand new computers… didn’t think at first it meant anything(until I got home with the food). I opened the bag at the house and opened each container and set them out on the table for us to share… and the real issues began to show: First the first ever MISTAKE was my Boneless Sparerib was missing and I instead was given a «on the bone» sparerib dish… so I had to drive back and get it switched… then we opened the dishes AGAIN: * * * Fried Rice was bland and missing the bits of veggies that made it so good * * * Egg Foo Young was very bland, definitely a different recipe and the sauce was runny * * * Boneless Sparerib was very fatty and overcooked(texture was off too) We called the restaurant and straight up asked«HASTHERESTAURANTBEENSOLD?» They said no and we asked if the girl we typically see is available(as we assumed she was an owner)… they said she was out but emphasized the place has not been sold FORGIVEANDFORGET Marisol decided to give the place another chance with an order for her only; since I was out of town and she didn’t want to cook for one. The next day I tried her leftovers and was like«BLAND» ONELASTTRY We called a couple weeks later to place an order and HOPE that the last experience was a fluke and all will be back to normal… EXCEPT that the lady we longed for didn’t answer the phone… OHNO ! Before placing the order, we asked HASTHERESTAURANTBEENSOLD? because it was the same guy took our order last time… the same guy that screwed up my order and the same guy that said the place was not sold. AGAIN he told us it was same owners and AGAIN we asked for the lady and this time he said she’s taking time off to take care of her kid… but sounds like B.S. to me… We told him straight up that the food is «DIFFERENT» and that is why we keep asking if it is new ownership. We told him the meat quality seems off and the flavors are bland. He disregarded our concerns and asked to take our order… I think not ! BOTTOMLINE The one thing for sure is they are being dishonest of what is going on there… whether it’s actually sold or under new management or shaking up the place or just simple cost cutting(at the expense of decent food)… Whatever it is, it’s not working !

Have being going here for years, and it is absolutely my favorite chinese i’ve had in south florida. The food is the same every time, which is great as some chinese restaurants lack consistency. The staff is always friendly, and they seem to genuinely appreciate the business. Their spare ribs are a must.

They let me order online. I appreciate that. It’s pretty much the only thing I look for in a restaurant so I don’t have to talk to anyone. Noise Level: Quiet — Because my apartment is quiet Accepts Credit Cards: Yes — Because they’re not laundering money Parking: Private Lot — Don’t park at my god damn house

First off, they’re incredibly nice and the food is delivered very quickly(ours came in 20 minutes). But, the food was only ok at best. Here’s what we had: 1. Tofu and Vegetables: Only 3 pieces of tofu :(but the veggies were fresh and not over cooked. Sauce was a light garlic sauce.(3 stars) 2. Chicken«Lo Mein»: The quotes were on purpose. The lo mein was actually supermarket spaghetti noodles. There is a difference both in taste and texture. Trust me. I’m Asian. I know these things. The chicken was ok. Nothing spectacular.(2 stars) 3. General Tso’s Chicken: Yes, it was all white meat, which is normally a good thing. But this chicken was so over cooked and hard that I could have probably used it to break a car window. The sauce was too sweet and not spicy at all(even though I asked for more spice).(1 star) 4. Shrimp Fried Rice: This was delicious! Good amount of shrimp and not gummy like some places make it. It was a touch too salty, but that’s what water’s for.(5 stars) Will we try again? Probably not.

Gave them 3 stars because for what they are and delivery, they are worth trying. They deliver quick. The spare ribs are not good. Only order them if your teeth are in good condition, you have to rip them off the bone, almost all fat. The chicken mu shu is good, and they have brown rice. I’d try them again.

This is king of the Chinese takeout scene in Boca– hands down. The food is fast, fresh, flavorful and bountiful! I loooooooove the general Tso chicken, which is lightly breaded and the sauce is not gloppy. It’s not super spicy but it is flavorful, my second fav is the chicken lo mein. Yummy soft noodles, crunchy wok fried veggies and a light sauce, totally delicious. I haven’t tried the sushi or Japanese options yet, but it’s on my list. They have delivery too which I’ve heard is fast, but I generally just pick up my orders anyway. Friend staff, tiny little joint in Boca del mar, I’m a customer for life! Keep the good takeout cooking!

Seriously nice guys who work here. Little hole in the wall. Super fast and amazingly high quality and quantity. Really not expensive for so much food. Will definitely be returning in the future!

This was a pretty standard Chinese joint. Nothing special, lacking in a few key areas. The place is take out only, so there are no seats inside. We called our prder ahead and was ready in 15 minutes. We tried a variety — hunan tofu, sesame tofu, and general tso’s tofu. We are a tofu family… First, they cut their tofu’s huge. Like way too huge. I am used to them being at least ¼ of the size. This is bad with tofu because when its too large, the middle isn’t really cooked well enough and definitely doesn’t soak up any sauce. There were 6 pieces per small sized dish. If you are familiar with the packaged, boxed tofu, it was like one of those boxes was cut into six. Their sauces here are good and very flavorful. It is their saving grace. Each dish had a very different, distinct flavor, which is a rarer find than you would think. Our favorite was the sesame. The fried rice was dry and flavorless. I doused it with the sesame sauce. I would get white rice and not pay extra next time.

As a South Florida transplant from the Northeast, I can honestly say that Chinese food and Florida never mixed. It’s been very difficult trying to find a decent Chinese food takeout place for years. I stumbled upon the place by accident and I’m glad I did. Possibly the best I’ve had since leave the northeast 10 years ago. Their soups are probably the best anywhere. All the chicken is white meat and extra large. I also enjoy their rice and egg rolls. I never had their sushi but why would you eat sushi from a Chinese place to begin with? Overall, your best bet in Boca for Chinese!

I just moved to the area a few months back and this has been my go to Chinese take out for 2 reasons — #1 the food is actually pretty good and #2 the delivery is SOFAST!!! They always tell me 40 min but I swear it has never taken more than 15 – 20 min to have my food ordered and delivered to my door. I am a good tipper so maybe that’s the reason lol but I am not going to argue. They also have several coupons on the menu if you are paying cash. I love the spring rolls, chicken and pork dumplings, and the Mongolian beef, honey garlic chicken and eggplant dishes are really good. If you need good Chinese delivery in east Boca, Oriental House is a safe bet.
