I just love this place. My second year in a row coming here for Fathers Day… our new tradition! Sat next to a delightful sweet elderly couple who were so cute. I love the Chicago dog… it is legit! Hand cut fries with skin on. I eat the same thing every time… but they have so many delish looking items. Perfection Chicago dog… why try anything else when you have the best.

OMG, how do you make a hot dog special?. I wasn’t coming with any expectation other than a quick lunch, and was blown away. They have over a dozen specialty dogs, one better looking than the next. The place is tiny, but the food is awesome.

Never knew this place was here… but…now that I do you will know where to find me. At hotdog opolis. I walked in and got in line behind 8 other hungry hotdog lovers! The line moved quickly and I saw Unilocal has a check in offer(available btwn 4 pm and 7 pm.) I had to stick with my favorite dog The Chicago! I grabbed a beer from the cooler. ordered my dog and sweet potato fries and sat by the window. There is table and high top counter seating… all the tables were full and I didn’t mind the high counter. As I sir here waiting for my dog and fries people keep pouring in an after the other. A sign this is great food… or a lotta people love hotdogs like I do. I’m assuming everything is made to order because of the wait for my food. I like fresh cooked hotdogs and do not mind the wait. gives me time to have a second beer… and I needed an ice cold beer or three today… it’s been one of «those“days. At least the scenery in the shop is… easy on the eyes… as I look around it seems everyone is waiting on their food. I enjoyed the bitter pills beer and went on to try a Chicago IPA because I was having a Chicago dog. the wobble IPA is a little bitter bit I’m sure it will be great with my dog once I get it. I had to try the fries first and. they are hot and fresh… very good! I love seeing the celery salt on top of my dog… my mouth is watering. The bun is nice and fresh. the dog had a great crisp texture. not crisp as in fried but it snapped when I had my first bite. and the hot peppers are so great. I am really glad I saw the store. they sat they have been here 7 years. really??? And they have a second location on west glades road. I have to say my dog was delicious!!! It was long gone before my sweet potato fries were gone! Will I be back… you better believe I willl. Delicious… fresh. great hotdog joint… so glad I stopped. I love hotdogs and THIS is my new most favorite hotdog joint!!! If you haven’t been here you need to come have some great hotdogs! Commander cuisine approved. Very fresh and delicious.

This place is a gem. It’s an awesome local joint with a Chicago flair. They even have a map of Chicago, and those from there can add a pin to the map showing where in the city they’re from. I’ve tried a few of the special hot dogs on the menu here including a Chicago dog and even a special one with a quail egg. The service there is friendly and they make you feel welcome every time. They have a loyalty card program and if you buy 5 dogs, your next is free. It’s a great spot to grab a bite to eat, when I go, it’s usually for lunch.

Well our experience was better than expected! All the great reviews and hype about this«hot dog place» got my curiosity up. So I set my sights on Friday night but instead went for lunch with husband and daughter. Well it was probably the best hot dog I have ever had. «The Boston»!(What else)? The onions were perfectly sautéed to caramelized perfection, the bacon was crispy, baked beans and the gooey cheddar? Husband had the«Peking and daughter had the Mexican. We gave the place 6 thumbs up! I guess to sum up our experience, if you ask me what they tasted like? We would say just one word! …MORE! So we each had a second! Thank you Hotdogopolis! We will be back! Next time we are biking it! So we can each get our own cheddar cheese fries! EVERYONE, ya gotta go here!!!

I like that this place is ambitious and puts proteins on the menu that you aren’t going to find most other places. They also have a noticeably Chicago style aspect to the menu as well. The next time I come here, I am going to make sure to try the Italian Beef combo because I think it has the potential to be really good. As it is, I had two sausages when I ate here. First was the lamb sausage. I elected to add feta, tzatziki, and red onion. The result was something very similar to a gyro in sausage form. It was good. I also ordered the foie gras sausage with the«California» condiments which was avocado, tomato, sour cream, and bacon. It was a very rich dog as you would probably expect. Perhaps a little too rich for my personal tastes. I had never seen a foie gras sausage so I had to try it, but I don’t think I would get it again. My son had the smoked chicken sausage and it was quite tasty. It’s tight quarters in here and the ordering process is a little funky, but the prices are decent and the food is good. I would certainly come back.

Lots of choices should suit just about anybody’s tastes. We were looking for something different for dinner to please adults and kids and came across Hotdog-opolis when reviewing restaurants on Unilocal! The choices sounded good to the group so we gave this restaurant a try. What’s nice about Unilocal!is that you find different restaurants like Hotdog-opolis which you’ve never heard of despite having lived in a town for a long time. There are a bunch of choices on their hot dogs(plus some specialty types made from a variety of meats). Plus there are a bunch of different beers to choose from. I went with the Boston«Bean» Dog(baked beans, melted cheddar, bacon and onions although I declined the onions) along with fries and a Floridian beer from Funky Buddha. It was a tasty combination, although I would have preferred less cheese because it overwhelmed some of the other flavors. The bun was fresh and tasted good although I also would have liked it to be a little less soft in order to support all of the rest of the toppings. None fell out and I’m sure they’ve found it to be the best choice, but I was worried about floppiness. My friend is a vegetarian and she enjoyed her veggie dog, with the same feeling about a slightly sturdier bun. My daughter had the Buffalo«Wing» Dog(blue cheese, celery, wing sauce and ranch dressing), and she liked it although also thought the cheese/ranch amounts were a little too heavy. Those comments aside, it should be said that they are not skimping on toppings. I would have liked to have tried another hot dog, but one and some fries was enough for me. We’ll have to go back to try others. There are maybe 5 or six tables to choose from and about another 10 chairs at a counter. It’s not a huge place, but there was enough seating and many may opt for take-out. When we checked in on Unilocal!,we got a 25% discount which was a great deal! Overall, I liked it at Hotdog-opolis and will be back.

Love love love! Everytime I go Im going to try a new weiner. So far I had my 1st Chicago dog. It was everything I hoped and dreamed of. Haha On a classic Chicago bun which held all the toppings perfectly. Then I tried the Pecking dog, wrapped in duck bacon, que the angels singing down from heaven, topped with pineapple, hoison sauce and scallions. This was quite the treat! 5 stars all the way. My 2nd visit I had to have the Chicago dog again, thats how good it was, and then I tried the philly cheese dog. Classic philly with onions, sweet green peppers, and cheese sauce. I cant wait for next time. They also offer elk, buffalo, wild boar, pheasant, duck, and a lot more dogs. This place rocks!

Ok experience. Had a Colombian. Didn’t taste as flavorful as hoped(expected more pineapple flavor) and the dog itself was lacking. Next time will try a different type of hotdog with other toppings. The Reuben was more tasty than the Colombian. And sweet potato fries where good. About 18 $ for 2 specialty dogs with sweet potato fries and a lemonade. Not cheap!

After the last fiasco I was in involving trying to get a decent hot dog, I was a bit nervous going in because the last hot dog joint my fellow Unilocalers suggested was just plain crappy. Well, I worked up the courage(and appetite) to try again and gave a shot to HotDog-opolis while I was in Boca. What a great decision that was! First off, they serve Vienna all beef franks, so the base dog here is substantial in size and flavor. Secondly the hot dogs here are Chicago style which means that along with that great dog, there are some serious toppings to go with it. Third, if you like sausages, they carry everything from Duck Sausage(stop snickering, that’s real.) to Buffalo Sausage to even Elk and Venison, but I digress. I didn’t try any of those, but for my sausage connoisseurs, here is your spot for those exotic sausages you’ve been wanting to try. Another thing(breifly mentioned in the sausage portion to the review) was that they serve Bison(Buffalo) dogs here! Though I have been tryimg to ease up on the red meat over the past few years, Bison is still my hands down favorite, and also. one of the more difficult to find as many restaurants don’t carry ir and gouge on price when they do. The amount of selections here is just insane with choices from Tex-Mex inspired flavors, to a Southern Dog with pulled bbq pork on it, to a Californian inspired dog. Safe to say there is a hot dog here for. everyone, and the hot dogs here are works of art. Another great thing to mention is that they are down with Unilocalers! So much so that a UnilocalCHECKIN yields you 25% DISCOUNTONYOURCHECK!!! This is a great lunch spot, and undoubtedly the best spot for a hot dog in Boca or the surrounding area.

Super place. You’ll miss it if you blink as its in a run of the mill strip mall with a large setback in front. Worth the u turn and the drive to Boca. Small and yet has more than you could dream of in the way of tubular meats. Classic American with your choice of kosher or Kobe or… Or go with the always good Chicago dog. Feeling adventurous? How about rabbit sausage or elk or gator or duck or… See the photos as it more than I can list here. Quick service and all made to order. Great fries! Could do without the televisions but that’s my peeve. Friendly and owner operated small biz.

SWEETHOMECHICAGO! Hotdog-opolis is dithyrambic about Chicago style hot dogs. At first I dubitated about going here, because I didn’t really believe that there is a place in Florida that has authentic Chicago style hot dogs. Well, I was definitely wrong! These dogs are definitely authentic, and surprisingly the joint is not pretentious. They serve up Vienna all-beef hot dogs. The dogs are quality meat and made fresh right before your eyes. The condiments are also quality and fresh, which we appreciated. Some of the items listed on their massive chalk board reminded me of a famous hot dog joint in Chicago known as «Hot Dougs» which closed in October 2014. Some of their hot dogs have Chicago names, which is awesome! For example, the Ditka, the Gold Coast, the Capone, the Daley, etc. Of course, this was last year, so I don’t know if the names change regularly or not. They offer«specialty» hot dogs. The unique amalgamation of condiments are ubiquitous for all these dogs. They not only serve a typical Chicago style dog, but offer a wide variety of evocative dogs! The fries are ethereal and sliced fresh daily. They are crispy, not greasy, with a tender interior. If you like cheesy fries and don’t mind getting down and dirty with your food, order these fries. These cheesy delectable fries can be shared with more than 2 people! If you lived in Chicago and relocated to Florida, and are in desperate search of your Chicago«fix» for a 100% Vienna beef hot dog, definitely hit up the Hotdog-oplis! Last year, I visited my family for a few months, during the dead of winter. Yeah, it was so cool to miss the brutal winter that hit Chicago last year. This review is long, long over due. However, if I eat at any restaurant you better believe I am going to Unilocal about my experience, the food, the customer service, etc. The customer service was friendly and effusive, which we appreciated because this is not easy to come by in Florida. My nephews gormandized their dogs and fries — those little crumb snatchers! My sister and her family(who now live in Wellington, FL) miss all their favorite foods from Chicago. Chicago is a «foodie» town, and they were really missing foods that truly represent«Sweet Home Chicago!» For instance, Chicago deep-dish pizza, Chicago Italian beef, and, of course, Chicago style hot dogs. My nephews discovered this Chicago style, Vienna beef, hot dog joint from their teenage friends who raved about how good the hot dogs are here. Well, I certainly can understand what the«rave» was all about. My palate certainly confirmed how delectable, authentic and fresh the hot dogs are here. I was definitely impressed! If you are desperately seeking a taste of Chicago, this is definitely a hit(not a «miss»). My parents lived in Chicago for over 40-years and moved to WPB, FL19 years ago. My mom is a huge hot dog fan. They were in search of an authentic Chicago style hot dog, and after years of living in FL, they finally found a place that reminded them a little bit of «Sweet Home Chicago!»

This is a little hidden gem. They have a wide variety of hot dogs from your basic to the exotic like alligator, and everything in between. The Korean dog was great, and the Chicago dog, which I had with a bison hot dog was perfect. Buns are fresh and soft, and they don’t overload toppings. It’s all about the craftsmanship. They have cane sugar sodas for those of us who don’t like the cheap toxic high fructose corn syrup our friends at Coke seem to stick in most everything, and the place is small but tidy, and has a very loyal following. A hot dog joint at its best. GO!

My friend had somehow read about this place while searching for German sausages in his new neighborhood of Boca Raton, and had mentioned wanting to try it, but since Boca’s a good hour drive from me and I hate driving, I wasn’t sure if I’d get around to it. The opportunity came yesterday though, and I faintly remembered the«sausage» place, and since we needed to grab a quick lunch prior to a concert, it seemed like the perfect choice. As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the choices, as was my friend. Lots of different choices, be it in the type of meat, style, or seasoning and condiments. It literally took us about 10 minutes to decide. Since I have a penchant for hot, spicy food, I finally decided to get the Ditka Spicy Polish with the grilled onions and mustard, while my friend got the Bratwurst with sauerkraut. I noticed their«no ketchup» sign and was intrigued. Considering my only experience with hot dogs was at concession stands at concerts and sports games(not many of those though, as I am not into sports, but I digress), at the risk of sounding ignorant, I had no idea there was such a thing as a ketchup-free hot dog. We looked for a table, and immediately, I realized 50% of the tables had crumbs, mustard, poppy seeds, or something else on them, so that made a bit of a negative impression. I am not sure if they were just very crowded or what, but it seemed like the tables were not being cleaned too often and that is a suggestion that I hope they will take to heart, in terms of improving. We sat at the table that looked the cleanest and waited. It did not take long before our food was ready. Interesting, I had never seen a hot dog bun with poppy seeds(which explained the poppy seeds on some of the tables, earlier). As my friend and I joked about the possibility of failing a drug test due to the poppy seeds, we each took a bite of our food. My friend said his sausage and sauerkraut were good and that is all he had to offer, in terms of feedback. My sausage was barely hot, nothing like what I expected as I expected it to be at least medium hot, but it was mild, or beyond mild. It had a good flavor though, and was very juicy, which is not the case with the dry hot dogs found at concession stands. The grilled onions were good, and also juicy, not dry or burnt. It did not take us too long to finish our meal, but don’t get me wrong — the sausage was a decent size — I would recommend ordering fries if you’re pretty hungry, because within 2 – 3 hours, I was hungry again. As to the service, it was not going-out-of-their-way friendly or polite, it was cordial. It felt rushed, so perhaps that had something to do with it. All in all, we’d consider coming back. It’s not often that you find such diverse sausage options in a restaurant, the food was flavorful, and inexpensive, which is great for those wanting to eat on a budget. Let’s see how adventurous we get next time. Rabbit or bison, perhaps? The possibilities are endless!

I love Chicago style hot dogs but I say«Chicago style» rather than Chicago hot dogs since I’ve never really enjoyed the flavor of the Vienne beef, its greasy consistency or lingering taste. So, unless I made my own using a different dog I’ve been somewhat out of luck. That is up until now with my introduction to HotDog-opolis. Here there is a choice, and what a wide choice it is. Besides traditional dogs they also have wild boar, duck, lamb, elk, venison, ostrich, buffalo, rabbit, chicken, pheasant, crocodile, and my favorite, Kobe beef from 100% wagyu; which is a selection far more extensive than I’ve seen elsewhere. Plus, they do the Chicago style justice using Vienna neon relish with just the right amount of celery seed along with its other traditional ingredients. Then, even better the number of styles in which they will prepare you dog. Everything from Colombian fully dressed with pineapple, pink sauce, cheese, chips with quail egg to a Peking with duck bacon and Hoisin sauce; which is just to name a few. As for the establishment itself, it’s a «hole in the wall» of place located next to a tattoo parlor, but hot dog places aren’t supposed to be fancy. Given the marvelously large selection all deliciously prepared I can’t go less than Five Stars. As an aside, I’ve noted that there are a few who refuse to eat here because of the contention that HotDog-opolis serves«exotic» meats. Well, that is only if you qualify it by the fact that you may not find the likes of ostrich, elk or crocodile in your local Publix. I think the confusion lies between what may be termed as «exotic» and that which is in fact«endangered» as all of these exotic selections are non-endangered, farm raised. Indeed I find flesh of those far more seriously endangered in specialty seafood outlets.
