Excel Nails

I tried this salon and will never go back. Nina made no attempt to make me feel welcome in her salon, and for that reason I felt uncomfortable. She was constantly checking to see if my nails were in the dryer correctly. When I asked her who owned the salon she lied and told me her mom did. According to other posts she is the owner. Most people weren’t tipping her so she told me that in order to get a tip. Now I know why her salon only had two clients.
She lost a good customer that just moved into the neighborhood. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. There are too many nail salons all over to settle for this. AND I don’t believe the other good reviews this nail salon got.

Always great to be pampered. This salon is very pretty, the chairs are comfy, and the nail techs are very nice. I love the location because it has convenient parking and I don’t have to worry about street parking. The prices are good for the area.

Please dont have any opinion about your nails because Nina will call you crazy and asked to leave! A truly horrible experience and I would suggest going elsewhere. It’s obvious that Nina does not have much respect for anyone. What a shame because it’s a nice location.

Most painful manicure I have ever had. Fingers were burning from gel application. Vanessa made a mistake and Nina was right there to say out loud what she thought caused it. Everyone heard me say it hurts but Nina didn’t offer any discount or apology. I still tipped the 20% because my nails look lovely but there might not be any nail left after all of the scrubbing and the acetone that was left on for 20 min. Nails throb just thinking about it. Thankful Nina was able to fit me in the day I called, but I will not be back.

Thought that it would be a nice salon from reviews and maybe location. BUT, Nina’s attitude truly SUCKED!!! From the moment I sat down in the chair she seemed to have a nasty attitude.
This was 2^nd attempt at trying this salon. The 1^st it was pouring raining around 5pm. I came in for a pink and white fill. She told me that she didn’t have time, BUT she wasn’t working on anyone! It was another girl in there who had a client and that was it. I asked what time they closed. She informed 7pm. Soooo let’s think about, it’s 5pm you close at 7pm and you have nobody you’re servicing YET you don’t have time??? Mmm ok
I disregarded it and left. The 2^nd time which was today. I called an hour prior and she tells me to come in. I get there and another lady is in the chair. They seem happy and merry! Talking and laughing great! She finished her up and calls for me. I sit and she just seemed to completely change.
She’s working on my nails and they way she has my hand sitting she keeps turning it to make her comfortable. Then she starts to get an attitude with me about how SHE has my hand placed!!! Seriously!!! THEN, she skips filing my thumb and I just informed her that she missed it. She yells dating no she didn’t and arguing with me. Clearly you can look at my thumb and see there is gel residue that needs to be cleaned off. She tells me i need to pay attention instead of being on my phone! The nerve of her rude self!
Save your time, money and respect! Nails sucks also. All kinds of residue and gel that even on all sides on some nails. Very sloppy job!

I came here with a couple of my family members and we all had great mani pedis. Every manicurist we had was thorough and sweet. They have a beautiful selection of colors and gels. It’s a bit more expensive (I think $ 32 for a mani pedi) than ones around Royal Palm Place, but I’d still suggest it.

Visiting from out of town and needed a mani/​pedi. Took a chance on Excel since it was near the resort where I was staying. Nina was my tech and did an amazing job! She was very through and gave an awesome massage. She was personable and extremely friendly. I would recommend Excel to anyone who doesn’t need a fancy salon but likes professional and through service.

This was the rudest interaction I have ever had with a business owner.
I walked in with a group of girlfriends and we asked how long it would be for a few mani/​pedis. They said not long, just sit down; but it was extremely busy and we could tell it would be a while. We said no thank you and walked out. The owner chased us outside the salon and said come back where are you going? We said thanks but we couldn’t wait. She replied with, What are you going down the road to the other nail place? and included in this comment derogatory remarks about the ethnicity of the other nail establishment’s employees. She said that we should patronize people of our own race. It was the most outlandish thing I have ever witnessed. To say the least we did not wait, we did not go back and I will never ever get my nails done here.

Excellent job by Nina. I came in with pink and whites from hell! I used to go to KNails in Deerfield Beach. They were cheap, but did not do a good job at removing the lifted acrylic before putting new acrylic on top! I walked in to Nina at around 10:30am on a Monday. I was helped right away. If you go without an appointment that is your own fault. I heard someone else saying they are so busy on Saturday and she couldn’t get an appointment. Nina did a great job removing the shitty nails I had before and doing a full set for me. She was nice enough not to charge me the $ 5 to remove them. Thank you! I paid $ 45 for a full set of pink and white. See my picture above.

Cheap Mani pedi, that is actually worth the price. Even though they machete your feet. They weren’t gentle but if you just care about getting what you asked for, this is the place. Plain & simple.

Even though I waited a pretty long time, overall I am very happy with my mani/​pedi.
I felt the place was clean and the service was fine.
I was very impressed Edith my manicure especially. No paint on my skin and she was very exact with it.
I would recommend this place, but only if you have the time to wait. I think I was there for one hour and a half, which is really just too long.

Not sure what I missed, but I was simply unimpressed by Excel Nails. Sure, $ 25 for a mani/​pedi is great, but the service was terrible. The staff was not friendly and it did not feel clean at all. During my manicure the nail tech picked someone else’s skin out of the cuticle trimmer and promptly used it on my hands without cleaning it! The pedicure was just bad — my heels were still rough afterward and my toenails still long. Lastly, my companion’s mani/​pedi was completed 30 minutes before mine, which was sort of strange. And two days later my fingernails were chipped all over.
You get what you pay for!

they don’t have the purple UV lamps to dry your nails. so an hour later at home every nail has a nick of some kind in it. I called to ask if they could re-​do them. They said I need to have sat in front of the fan for one half hour in order for them to dry… and since I didn’t (i was there 20 minutes drying them at the fan)…they will not re-​do them. They offered to redo them tonight at 6, which I can’t do, but said if i come in tomorrow morning they will have to charge. i just wasted my time and money.

you can always get an appointment, and the girls there are so sweet and friendly! nina and helen give fabulous, perfect manicures. french are the best. and it’s cheap: 10 for regular manicure, 16 for a french! great waxing too ($ 10 for eyebrows). the place is so clean, and it’s a very relaxing space. a little treasure in overpriced boca raton.

This is a great neighborhood shop with very friendly staff and its extremely CLEAN! I never have a problem getting an appt here, even at the last minute. in season they are open on Sundays too.
Great spa pedicures and fills, plus waxing. Prices are reasonable too.
Wish they had some new and improved colors to pick from … but other then that highly recommend for nails and waxing, especially last minute, in a rush or walk in.
