Food was greasy and tasteless. Service was slow and not very friendly. We won’t be back.

Breakfast is better had somewhere else! Biscuits were terrible, gravy tasted like raw flour, and bacon came from a wild boar. Plus no coffee! Waited and waited to get a cup.

We stopped in for a quick lunch after doing a bit of apple picking at Mercier Orchards. I was starving and couldn’t wait to eat my lunch. I ordered a caprese sandwich with some Zapps chips and my companion wasn’t too hungry since we chowed down on a bunch of pies at Mercier and just ordered a hot dog. The food took a longer to come out than I thought it would. To be fair, I was on the verge of being hangry. Sadly, the food did not live up to the great reviews that this place receives. My sandwich arrived cold. It was partially heated, but not all the way through which made for a not so good sandwich. I didn’t try the hot dog, but it was left half eaten so I’m not sure that it was fantastic. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing on the menu. I’d like to stop by for breakfast to see if that’s any better.

The food here is excellent, both for breakfast and lunch. The meatloaf sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the rest of the table shared this consensus. The Reuben was also excellent. We all got the kale salad as a side, which is very similar to the kale salad often served down the street at Harvest On Main(I think they’re owned by the same people, but not positive). For breakfast the winners were biscuits and gravy(hearty, sausage gravy) and the«big breakfast», though everything else was good too. So, why 4 stars? The service isn’t the friendliest. I’m not going to say rude, but I will say it’s fairly apparent the employees don’t handle stress well. That said, we were there on two of the busiest days I’ve ever seen the city, so maybe it was just an anomaly. Anyhoo, come here, order at the counter, find a seat(front, inside or back covered deck) and enjoy. Food comes out pretty quick and with large portions too.

Best breakfast I’ve ever had. The biscuits and gravy were flaky and buttery, with a creamy gravy that’s loaded with sausage. Bacon, egg, cheese sandwich was with thick bacon, fresh eggs and a giant slab of cheddar sitting between 2 thick pieces of bread. Both dishes were outstanding.

I was expecting awesome food based off Unilocal reviews. I had the ham and cheese with a side of macaroni salad. Sandwich. Bread was a little old. lettace was starting to brown. Ham portion was very small. maybe 3oz, overall the sandwich tasted pretty good. But not enough to fill me up. Macaroni salad was nasty. I could only manage one bite, it was that had a really strange taste. Don’t plan on returning.

Had a great lunch here the other day. I had half a kale salad & homemade mushroom soup. My husband had a really good 4 cheese sandwich. The soup was so delicious & I recommend trying. Good service, great little back patio looking over the train.

The Reuben was out of this world!!! Homemade thousand island. Cure the meat themselves. Delicious. My husband said the lox bagel was good. And my son had the grilled cheese. Plus the staff is super nice! Would definitely be back!

My wife and I and the kids found this gem. The country store feel sets an expectation of simple delicious food. The Blue Ridge Grocery delivered. The local bacon is cooked to a crisp and has a natural flavor that is delightfully missing preservatives. The biscuit is dense but not heavy and substantial in size making it a perfect companion to the homemade sausage gravy. The sausage is locally made next door in the restaurants sister establishment, Harvest on Main. The meals are served on pie plates and the coffee is locally roasted. Do yourself a favor and get on over here.

Good fresh, light lunch! I had the turkey, cheese, and bbq onion sandwich. Very good and fresh. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich which he described as «scrumptious» and I can second that after having a bite! My daughters both had a grilled cheese, one on gluten free bread. Both equally delicious! There are many things on the menu I’d like to go back and try. I was not crazy about the macaroni salad but my sister in law loved it so it’s certainly a preference, lots of onion. The breakfast selection looked delicious. Hope to make it over for breakfast on our next trip to blue ridge!

Meatloaf sandwich is amazing, and the healthy slaw was very fresh and a perfect match! Good selection of funky sodas and beer! Staff is friendly and very helpful… and they have locally sourced ingredients that absolutely make the meal perfect. Menu is simple and limited, so everything is wonderful.

My three star review is the average of my experiences at Blue Ridge Grocery. The first time I went there, I came on a weekday and was one of a very few in the restaurant. I saw the reviews and gave it a try. They have great portions and a really tasty kale salad as a side option on their meal. I would give it 4 – 5 stars if my first visit was all I knew of Blue Ridge Grocery. My girlfriend and I went here this past weekend to grab a sandwich before leaving Blue Ridge. This experience was worth two stars. It was hot inside(I’m guessing around 80), a long wait(15 – 20 mins in a fairly short line, 20 – 25 mins for food), and was generally not as good of an experience as the first time. I got the ham & cheese which resembles a cuban sandwich on a different bread and it was pretty good this time around. The mustard onions could have been cooked down a bit or sliced a bit thinner for my tastes. She got the caprese sandwich and was not very impressed by the flavor. Overall, we won’t be back unless it’s a very quiet weekday on a cooler day and we’re back in town for apples at Merciers.

Tried this place on a very busy Saturday afternoon for lunch. It’s small and rustic inside with a walk up counter for ordering. There are a few tables inside, but seating is kind of limited. I ordered a caprese sandwich and it was okay. Probably not worth the wait, which ended up being close to 40 minutes. Everything thing is prepared fresh, but I was hoping for a little more flavor from the pesto in my sandwich, and it just wasn’t happening. The focaccia bread was tasty though!

Neither a «don’t miss it» or an «avoid it», just a… if you’re hungry and you’re close, then ok. Pros Food was fresh and service was friendly. Lots of people being welcomed by their name and making small talk with other patrons. I like the cozy, gather round the watering hole feel. The view from the back deck was lovely! Cons Food and coffee both were pretty blah. I had an egg and cheese sandwich that was so dry, bland and boring, I didn’t finish it. All in all, if I’m in Blue Ridge again, I will probably give them another try. There’s gotta be something that keeps all those regulars coming back!

Downtown Blue Ridge is the kind of place that any small towns try to create, but few succeed. Blue Ridge has kept the big boxes out on the main highway and preserved the small town feel«down on Main St». There is a great selection of restaurants along here, and Blue Ridge Grocery is just a cool place to come for any meal or just for some coffee. Sit by the window and watch the tourists wander up and down the street. Or venture to the back and watch the train. Or take the train when you are done with your coffee. They have wifi, so you can stretch that breakfast or coffee out over your iPad.

Blue Ridge Grocery is a must visit for anyone who goes to Blue Ridge. The ingredients used in their food are from their local farms. Everything is made fresh and it is absolutely delicious. They have a special section of all Georgia Grown products that I adore. Seating is limited but they have an excellent back porch to enjoy beautiful weather and look over the incoming and outgoing trains. The whole place gives you a very nostalgic feel. This eatery exceeded my expectations.

Best breakfast in this little town. They get it right! Finally someone here gets it right ! Everything about this place is fantastic. Comfortable and old European surroundings. All food made on site from locally grown stuff. If you are into healthful foods, this place is for you. If you like more comfort foods, this place is for you. Outstanding cup of coffee with real porridge. Even the water is quality We had breakfast but the lunch menu looks fantastic. Not expensive. Good wine and craft beers! yes! Glad we don’t live closer or we would be spending every morning here.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast here, lax and bagel… Cheese croissant, not your average one but melted cheese in a brioche. And awesome fresh squeezed OJ GOTHERE !
