Fantastic service. Chicken fried steak was amazing. I got the Fish and chips, sadly I don’t recommend(not fresh fish). Salads, soup and my fiances food was great. Loved the service and great atmosphere.

Were looking for a place to take our daughter to lunch during App State’s Parents Weekend. We literally tripped across this place by walking to the end of Sunset. Our daughter, who is not a gushy individual, raved about her hamburger and string fries. My wife and I had a tomato based bean soup with cilantro-it was amazing, both tangy and subtle. If you are looking for a place with a well drilled staff, attentive management and a creative menu, this is your place.

We wanted a light lunch and read the reviews from other Unilocalers(thank u). Service was good and food was excellent! The atmosphere is nice and cozy too! My mom and I both ordered the Trout Reuben sandwich & a side of the potato salad– so yummy! We both finished it! My dad ordered the Baja Mahi Tacos, the beans were ok but he still enjoyed the tacos! We will definitely be back when we visit again! Thanks Rustique!

If you’re a local or a visitor to Blowing Rock, run – don’t walk – to Rustique for a fabulous dinner! This restaurant opened in April 2015, and is arguably the best restaurant in BR. We visited one weekend night in October for dinner. While parking can be difficult in BR, Rustique has its own parking lot, with plenty of parking. It’s also walking distance from Main Street. To start, we had the soup of the day(a pasta fagioli), the triple dip, and the roasted beet salad. All were delicious, but the beet salad(with both yellow and red beets) and the smoked trout dip were our favorites. They serve all meals with two kinds of warm, crusty bread and a bowl of butter mixed with olive oil. Both breads were yummy! For our entrees, I had the scallops with risotto, and my husband had the pappardelle bolognese. Portions are large at Rustique, and our dishes were expertly prepared. I loved that they served the scallop risotto dish with grilled brussel sprouts; I rarely see them served in restaurants, and they were delicious. My husband’s bolognese was full of meat, and very flavorful. We were both extremely happy with our selections! Service is what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Courses were spread out just perfectly, with little wait in between. While the prices are a bit on the high-end, the food and service make Rustique very memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

This restaurant has it all – friendly staff, unique décor, and amazing food. I had the soup and chopped salad. The flavors were extraordinary and the presentation was delightful. They use fresh local produce. I highly recommend you fit a meal here into your visit to Blowing Rock.

On our way down the parkway we decided to stop here for lunch. They were busy and the staff seamed frazzled. We both ordered the tacos I got steak and the meat was very chewy. My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos and his were good. The beans were not my favorite they had way too much citrus for my taste. The décor was great but that was the only thing about this place I loved.

We went last night for our first dinner here(have had an excellent lunch a month ago) expecting the«Fish Camp» Tuesday dinner. We learned they have changed gears and begun a «South of the Border» for Tuesday’s. Sandi, our server, was enthusiastic about the dishes, as was Manager Rich(who we’ve gotten to know around the restaurant scene in BR). So we gave it a try and we’re not disappointed. I had the shrimp tostadas which were very good, shrimp were done just right, not over cooked and the mixture of tastes were great. Each tostadas was enough for a meal for my wife and I. She had 2 tacos which were also large and very good. Both dishes were reasonably priced and we left full and happy with enough $ in our pocket to return later this week for lunch!

My wife and visited Rustique in late May. We were very pleased with what we found. The atmosphere was simple and relaxed, the food was very good and the Wine Stewardess was very helpful. I had a double cut pork chop that was nicely done, still moist and tasty. My wife had one of the pasta selections and she really enjoyed it. Paired with a nice wine that was selected for us, it made for a very enjoyable evening. I hope this place succeeds, Blowing Rock needs some more dining choices.
