This was horrid. We stopped by around 9am. Customer service was poor and the coffee very bitter. Even the hot chocolate was icky. Big sign that said ‘we have bagels, just ask’. Upon asking we were told they didn’t have any. We will NOT be revisiting this establishment.

Went to this coffee shop after seeing the review on Unilocal. It was Christmas so the little town was very very busy. The guys in the shop greeted every customer like they were the only ones there. Being an avid coffee drinker and an espresso lover, I am a tough coffee shop customer. I ordered something which they could not make because they did not have the correct flavor additions to add to their lattes. They substituted and told me that if I didn’t like it, let them know and they would try to fix it. Well, that happened of course, and they tried to fix it but to no avail. We scratched the entire order and I told the barista to make me his favorite latte. It was the most unique latte I’d ever had and so so good. When I asked what it was, he didn’t want to tell me his secret but he gave me some clue — it included pineapple, butterscotch, peanut butter, and some other things. I don’t know how he made all these things work together but it was magic. This horrible, picky, know it all coffeeshop customer was impressed. I hope that you will be too.

Great coffee and the Lavender Latte is the best in town. If you’re looking for a place to hang out and/or work, keep looking. It’s in the loft of Footslogger’s, so space is very tight. I typically grab mine to go and take a walk around town. Customer service is always wonderful, even when the lines are long. Keep it up guys!

$ 4.26 for a 12 oz. pour over«house coffee», not your high end rare coffee… is absolutely insane. If the nice young man had not already started brewing it I would have laughed my way right out the door. $ 1.87 for the coffee if I buy the coffee already sitting in the pot. I have had a LARGE authentic Kona organic coffee in Hawaii at a waterfront restaurant for under $ 5 How can you justify your prices? I was the ONLY person in the entire building for at least 15 minutes on a 18 degree morning… Just something to ponder. NOTE: the owner(Jason c.) just slandered(here on Unilocal) a company I own 3.5 hours away from him that he has never done business with as it is a strictly local business. I’ve got enough attorneys on my client list… Let’s see how he handles a slander lawsuit.

Awesome little coffee shop tucked above an outdoors store in downtown blowing rock. They have excellent coffee, as well as good seating. It’s a fun atmosphere having the outdoors store down stairs; very hippy/outdoors vibe… just wish I’d been able to meet the bald guy and thank him.

a chill vibe, delicious chai latte, and friendly service. I only had a few minutes to stop in, but I wanted to stay for hours. even though it was busy, service was quick and I didn’t feel rushed. I can’t wait to go back soon!

I’ve stopped in here twice now and am definitely a fan. It’s super laid back with a little nook of a room and a handful of tables to sit and enjoy your coffee on site. Both times I have been there it’s been early and Footsloggers wasn’t yet open. The barista guys(do you call men baristas. .. ??) anyway, the coffee dudes were very knowledgeable and helpful in making drink decisions. They have some whole bean coffee they sell on site as well as locally made baked goods(cinnamon buns, scones, etc) and branded gift items. Parking is not ideal but worth the effort.

Fantastic place for the best coffee in the Blue Ridge Mountains! The drip is amazing, the chai is super, Lattes are worth every sip! Don’t pass up Bald Guy Brew! The staff is the best I’ve met. After two days in Blowing Rock my wife and I don’t want to leave but we can’t stay forever. If you get the chance come by and get a coffee and fresh baked goodie for the perfect way to relax!

Most delicious and smooth coffee I’ve ever had away from my own home. THEBEST! And they carry almond milk! We will return next time we are in the area! And the barista also knew what he was doing. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We bought a pound so we could have it at home. Located upstairs. Laid back atmosphere. Loved it!

Amazing coffee! Had a mocha with almond milk. Smooth, tasty and just the right amount of everything. I would consider driving 90 minutes to get this coffee every morning! Located upstairs from a cool shop that sells clothing and hiking gear. Nice people!

Great place to stop and grab a brew. The dark roast Columbian was smooth and smoky. The ambiance is as you would expect from a mountain coffee house. Cozy and comfy. Good place to chill out! Military discount!

Pleasant surprise to my routine visit to Footsloggers in Blowing Rock. First time we ventured upstairs for Java and the whole family enjoyed. Non-coffee drinks for the kids were great and the adults were very pleased with our caffeine laced drinks! Great atmosphere and we ended up spending a relaxing hour hanging out in the«lounge» room watching it snow. Great hidden gem that shouldn’t be missed and for an extra touch, barista is an artist with the foam!

Great coffee, but more importantly, great people. My rental house lacked the promised wifi, so Bald Guy became my 2nd home. Galen(sp?) was super-friendly about having me there sucking up the free wifi and couldn’t have been nicer. «Downtown» Blowing Rock is a little snooty, honestly, but this place is terrific. And the wifi is amazingly strong and reliable. Don’t miss the blue light in the bathroom!

Outstanding coffee & I’m a bit of a coffee expert. Definitely a top tier. Very friendly & knowledgable staff. The shop is located upstairs in an outdoor store. Very comfortable place, looks like something of 1940 with nothing to fancy but very welcoming & practical. Also offers organic tea & some high quality local made goods, Great Bald Guy Brew bumper stickers, shirts & coffee cups. I don’t think you can go wrong visiting here.

I visit Blowing Rock often but this was the first time I heard of Bald Guy Brew and their late night Venus Lounge Wine bar. I visited twice this past weekend. The first visit I ordered coffee for myself and tea for my Mother-in-Law. My coffee was delicious and my MIL said her tea was great as well. It was little pricey for the two drinks $ 5 and change, but not enough to stop me from ordering again. Later in the weekend we stopped back late night for the wine experience. The menu for wine is small but I did enjoy a nice glass of Malbec for about $ 7. There was a small number of people and a few snacks on the bar to nibble on i.e.: Chex Mix, nuts, bread. We heard they do live music weekend evenings and it is one of the few spots in BR that stays open to about 9pm if not later. I would definitely stop by Bald Guy Brew for Coffee, tea or whatever you’re in the mood for. We also saw them present at the Farmers Market selling coffee. Way to go Bald Guy!

I definitely wasn’t expecting a legit coffee shop above a pretty righteous outfitter, but we were more than happy to follow the steps up to java heaven. Bald Guy Brew is a very down-to-earth coffee shop with a lot to offer on the second story of Footsloggers. We decided to get a couple of drip coffees on our Sunday evening in Blowing Rock. We were very pleased with the great service and friendly atmosphere. The barista explained how all their coffee is local, organic and fair trade. The artwork was very intriguing, ranging from a bench carved from an ancient fallen tree to a cartographer’s masterpiece of the surrounding area. They even had great taste in music! We didn’t have too much time to enjoy our environment as we stumbled in right before closing, but we did get to check out their experimental readers nook. Inside was a couch with a ottoman to really kick back and plenty of reading material. BGB is a great place to get a respectable cup of coffee and spend some time leisurely reading.
