Welcome to the Cinema Center, I mean Digiplex Cinema Center, wait I mean Carmike Cinemas Cinema Center as it’s changed ownership several times over the last few years. This is the only movie theater within 45 min — 1 hour of Bloomsburg. Building was formerly an Ames Department Store and within the last few years received a significant renovation, bringing it up to date with other theaters. Standard theater layout with ticket counters at the entrance. Several arcade machines are spread across the lobby. Usual overpriced snacks, but does not have any full meal options like other modern theaters have. Theaters have stadium seating added during the renovations. After my last few visits, I’ve noticed a few issues ranging from broken/permanently reclined seats, screens with marks on them, and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Seems maintenance needs to be picked up a bit. Another Unilocaler mentioned about too many previews before the movie and I would completely agree. Cinema Center does get a nice mix of limited release movie showings and non-movies including special TV viewings. Only once in the last few years have I had to travel out of the area to see a limited release movie(Kevin Smith’s Tusk). Watch leaving the parking lot after a movie, as of this review there are many potholes. Is Cinema Center perfect? No, but it’s good enough.

Went to go see Jurassic World in 3-D which was an awesome experience. The surround sound made it feel like the dinosaurs were sitting in the chairs next to me. A few times I had to look over my shoulder just to make sure the people behind me weren’t eaten. The place itself is alright, nothing really that special. Expensive food and drink just like any movie theatre. Te seats were really comfortable being able to lean back and have plenty of space while watching the movie. The bad was there was absolutely no security. I could have just said I was going in to get a friend and walked right into the movie for free. Nobody checking tickets and no authority what so ever was there. I could have brought my own food and drink and nobody would have said a thing. That isn’t good business. Also the movie was suppose to start at 1 and after the previews it wasn’t until 1:30 until the movie started which should be changed. Show the previews earlier. Probably will never go here ever again just bc it’s expensive to go to the movie theaters anymore but I was a big Jurassic Park nerd and wanted to see Jurassic World which I believe must be watched in 3-D and with surround sound.

As a Bloomsburg native, I am thankful that we even HAVE a movie theater. That said, Cinema Center was nothing spectacular. Slightly inattentive employees, overpriced snacks, etc. Since it has been remodeled, the Cinema Center is more on par with big city theaters, complete with stadium seating and reclining chairs. I really enjoy coming home and stopping by for a movie. The theaters are kept very neat and the patrons are not too noisy or obnoxious. Ticket prices are FANTASTIC compared to what I pay in Philly/NY but therein lies the small town advantage.

My friends and I went to see Project X at the latest show time which was 10:15pm. Unfortunately, when we arrived at 10:22pm the doors were all locked! We were then told by 2 employees who opened the door after laughing at us, «You need to come on time people». The employee(John) was BEYONDRUDE and his manager allowed him to do ALL of the talking. I hate previews which is why I didn’t bother showing up at 10:15 on the dot. We were then told by a manager(Rob) that the doors are locked 10 minutes after the last show time. Although we had been there within that time frame. It only escalated from there. We were told that the police would be called if we did not leave. I talked to the district manager(Trudie Withers) a couple days later who I later found out is one of the owners. Ultimately, she told me that there are two sides to every story and that she did not want us to come to «her» theater any more. I am absolutely disgusted with this place and the lack of customer service. How can you spend so much money or renovations and allow employees to close early and be disrespectful. I have NEVER dealt with a company that cares so little about it’s customers.

Great looking since the remodel. The first time I went to this theater I couldn’t stop looking up at the ceiling for fear something was going to fall on my head. It’s a nice place now with stadium seating and I really like the little cookies they have at the concession stand.
