This is a great place! Tons of free parking, neat building, sloped floor for a better view of the stage– you can’t ask for much more in this type of venue. OK… a coat check would be nice.

Ike reilly killed it. Never thought I’d see this great band live. Cracker up next. Always great too. Was worth the trek from austin via denver. Two of the best live shows ever.

Awesome venue, cheap prices, cheap drinks. Tip: Avoid long lines and get your tickets will-call. They put your name on a list instead and the wait is shorter. Also, you can park in several lots for free if you’re from out of town.

I have been to many shows and worked with many bands! Even touring around the USA to places just like this one! This venue really tries to bring back the acts that B/N had been passing up for years. Eric(the audio engineer), really tries to make every band sound great! The acoustics are shiny walls and concrete. Mixing four bands a nite can be quite challenging and taxing on your ears. The mix can be a bit loud, so bring hearing protection. The best hearing protection we recommend is called«Earaser». This Theatre is awesome. Had the pleasure of seeing the band FILTER last nite(great show)! Save me the middle seat on the balcony for Steve Vai, tonite! They are doing the scene a good thing filling an entertainment void that the BCPA&USCC just could never seem to satisfy for me. Five Stars!

I don’t know the history behind the Castle Theatre, but you can tell there’s a lot. The interior lobby is well taken care of and expansive. The main theatre is a little oddly set up. It’s similar to the Vic in Chicago, where there are multiple levels that slope downward, and each one has a row of stools at the front. The lighting is smooth, there are two bars at the front of each entrance to the main theatre, and two small balcony levels line each side of the theatre. The stage is set low and close to the action, and the sound is excellent. Checked out Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers last week, and got to meet them under the marquee later after the show. The Castle definitely reminds me of eras gone by, but it seems like there are few places left where you can check out a place like this in small towns in America. Support your local independent businesses!

This is the place for shows in B/N. The Castle Theatre is great Rory and the staff are great to customers. The have increased Blo/No’s presence on the music scene ten fold, I have seen about 40 shows here since they opened and played there twice. The sound just keeps getting better and it really shows they care about doing a great job and making sure the fans have a great time. The cover the full spectrum of music and live entertainment. Bring fishbone back!

Certainly there are better places in Chicago, St. Louis, etc. but in Bloomington, best there is for live music. The drinks are limited. Sometimes the sound sucks, but still… it’s The Castle with it’s ornate architecture and hipster atmosphere and tattooed waitresses. Just go there and enjoy yourself. This is what Bloomington-Normal has been waiting for. They don’t serve food, just mediocre drinks and top-notch music selections for suuuuuper cheap. GO!

Has always been a wonderful place for movie… and now concerts. Good variety over all genres.
