I’ve lived in Bloomington a long time and am no stranger to pizza. Ive never been a huge fan but tried the thin crust from Pizza X for the first time with the Big X Bargain and it was amazing. With pineapple and their signature red sauce it became a fast favorite. I recommend them for sure.

Stopped by there last week to get breadsticks. They were horrible. Not good at all, couldn’t even finish them bad. Tasted like dry cardboard or worse. And to top it off… I had to wait for them… They weren’t fresh. The guy took my order and then started filling up the shredded cheese. The man making pizza finely told him to go ahead and get my order. So I ended up waiting 10 minutes for nasty old breadsticks to come out of the warmer. I thought I was waiting for fresh ones, but no… They were already bagged and sitting in the warmer… Won’t be going back!!! Trailhead is on the way home so…

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but compared to the other Unilocalers reviewing this particular Pizza X I didn’t have such a great experience. In my eyes Pizza X has gone down hill ever since they became Pizza X. I’ve lived in Bloomington all my life and Pizza EXPRESS(now Pizza X) was my go to pizza place. Maybe it’s just my mind but the quality was a lot higher back then. But ever since it became Pizza X I haven’t been impressed with how they do things. I ordered a pizza on Tuesday of last week at around 10:30PM and got it at 11:25PM. Not bad seems normal? When I opened it up the pieces of pizza was no longer circular they were all over the place(I got thin crust). It honestly looked like the employees used my pizza to play frisbee, and the ranch was tipped over and started leaking a little. To top it off the pizza was cold. Not even luke warm, it was plain cold. Prices seem to have gone up also. My small pizza which I got cold and scrambled together was around $ 13.00? Save your time and money and pick it up or go to Avers.

Dear pizza x. I really enjoyed my pizza and breadsticks. In fact, you all were awesome and even early with my delivery. It was tasty and fresh and just a delightful time. However, I was super disappointed that I didn’t get my 3 sprinkles that I asked for. Instead I got 4 tootsie rolls– that were warms and sticky. Not gonna help me out on date night!

Pizza X is everything you could possibly ask for in a college town pizza place. They have locations all over Bloomington/campus that allow them to delivery everywhere FAST. They stay open late, which is great for those nights(whether you’re up partying or studying!) that you need food in those early morning hours. All of that is great, but this place would be nothing without good food at reasonable prices. The Big X deal is the most popular, which includes a large one topping pizza, a side of breadstix with a dipping sauce and two drinks. Pizza is good… it’s not going to blow you away but it is perfect for what it is. Breadstix really stand out — they’re delicious! Super soft and the cheese sauce and garlic sauces are fantastic. We always get pepperoni pizza and breadstix with cheese sauce. You can get whatever soft drinks you want(coke products — only negative! haha) and you get to keep the cups. PX cups are quite a collectable in Btown, as they come in all different colors and editions depending on the time of the year. Pizza X is a Bloomington staple and is absolutely the PERFECT late night eating spot!

I moved to San Francisco and really miss Pizza X. It’s not cheap pizza like some say, it’s really very good quality pizza. You can make an amazing pizza by choosing your own toppings. Try their whole grain crust, or add cheddar cheese to make it really good. I’ve tried all the locations, but the East side Pizza X always made the best, most consistent pizza. There is a lot of great pizza in Bloomington. You can also try Buchetos, Avers, or Greeks.

Ok ok I may have exaggerated a bit. But seriously its a great cheap pizza and you really really can’t go wrong! Their breadsticks are to die for. Its the IU original, they compete with Aver’s as the most sold pie in town. They must sell close to 2000 on a average school night, and I’m not joking. I love this place and will continue to love this place, it holds a special place in my heart. This place is such a part of Indiana University culture that when you come visit campus they give you a free large pizza as part of your college tour… they probably don’t show the Economics Building on the tour, but they for damn sure make sure your have Pizza Express!
