Guardian Pet Sitters

Unless you want to kill your pets, DO NOT USE these petsitters! We hired them twice, and the first time we got an emergency call letting us know that our Iguana was deathly ill… we don’t even HAVE an iguana… Considering what happened next, I suspect they hadn’t come to our house to pet sit at all until that phone call, which was made two days before our return (leaving just enough time to clean up litterboxes and take the money we left them).
The second time we came home after a TEN day trip to South America to discover that they had NEVER come by! The cat litter was piled high, they were all out of food and water, and our pets, who are our children, could have DIED. When they called they said they didn’t know how it could’ve happened, they «must’ve made a mistake in adding it to their calendar». Nevermind that the guy even emailed me confirmation of our petsitting agreement before our trip…
They made no attempt to rectify their stupidity, and their insurance refused to do anything either. The American professional pet sitting organization that guarantees their business said they would write down the complaint but would not volunteer that information to anyone calling for a reference, unless someone asked specifically for negative references… WTF…
In short: These people are absolutely worthless human beings and I hope they both end up in a retirement home where their family and nurses forget about them and they slowly and painfully starve to death.
