For the longest time, I thought that this place was out of business every time I’ve driven by till a co-worker told me that they’re actually still open and in fact do exist. Lets get straight to the point, I walked in to be greeted by a kid that gave me quite the amount of sass for a first timer(I can handle it though, I’m an Easter Coaster). I could tell that this place has a local flair and probably is some sort of local staple in B-town based on appearances(then again who am I to judge). The selection of donuts are all pretty standard and classic, I bought 4 donuts because they have a $ 3.00 minimum if you want to use a credit card — if it’s under that bring cash! After the first bite of their Yeast-risen chocolate glazed donut I was won over. Super soft, pretty much melted into my mouth after every bite, and it wasn’t soaked in grease from the deep fryer. Overall, I would say solid donut and I will be coming back for sure. —- 10 minutes later — - Was trying to pace myself with the donuts I bought, but gave into eating the Blueberry Cake donut, and it was so goood. I don’t typically like cake donuts, but it was light and airy not too dense, and perfectly moist. Way to go Cresent, I think I found my new donut place.

The doughnuts are great but I am not sure why the woman behind the counter has to be such an unfriendly person. We went around 1PM. Not a single customer in the place. The woman behind the counter acted like she was doing us a big favor by putting three doughnuts in a bag for us. We knew what we wanted, so it wasn’t like we were indecisive. She was unfriendly and should not be working in a service industry. Some people may think that rude staff is funny or makes this place more interesting or something. Nope. I would rather go across town and have doughnuts that are not as good as these and give my money to someone friendly.

Doughnuts may be a matter of taste but you will be happy with these. Wide variety and every one I have ever had for over 20 years has been good. I brought for my staff yesterday and that always buys me popularity and acclaim. I remember going early in the morning when I took my daughters out for breakfast with Dad before school about 15 years ago and they were good then too.

I had a total hankering for doughnuts over the weekend … And never fulfilled that hankering. But I woke up this morning and my husband must have woke up extra early before work because… A box from cresent was sitting on my kitchen island …(my husband gets 5 stars too) I’ve seen a few reviews on here about customer service … Those people felt rushed or felt not being attended to: imagine person X is picking out some masterful Instagram«picture perfect» dozen… All while asking about gluten free this and a nut allergy that, while person Y just needs a dozen yeast doughnuts(melt in your mouth, yum!) for the office… and person Z wants a single blueberry cake doughnut for the road(I’ve never liked cake doughnuts but theirs are something else special … They make it almost better than the yeast … Unreal… And amazing) … You have to understand they are a business … A business where a majority of the people who come in are on the go– they do exactly what they should be doing. Awesome place all around and another Bloomington must !

Best donuts! The glazed donuts are so so yummy! I was told the staff is rude. I was treated very nice and the staff was pleasant. I work really close and plan on coming back really soon!

I don’t eat doughnuts often but my kids, of course love them so Sunday mornings my wife and I go get doughnuts for them. Crescent is the best doughnut shop in Bloomington. The employees could be a little more friendly is my only gripe.

The donuts are great and fresh and tasty. I can get a dozen different donuts for less than $ 10. They have a minimum of $ 3.00 for any credit card purchase, so be aware.

Great old-fashioned southern glazed-raised donuts. Guy at the counter IS a bit surly, though. Just sayin’.

Best donut shop in B-town! The selection is very good, and the product is always fresh. I particularly love the glazed twists. They are gooey mounds of heaven in your mouth. We live just a minute from here, so I often stop in. Get there early, because it’s SO worth it. The phone policy is right on. I wish more establishments had that rule around here. Keep on keeping on, Cresent!

My friend brought a bunch of them home and I had the blueberry glazed one. Best thing I’ve ever tasted! Going back for more!

The donuts are delicious, both glazed and cake. I particularly liked the blueberry and(seasonal) pumpkin cake donuts. I think this is where they shine. You can get a dozen for under $ 10. All of our donuts tasted fresh and good, and since we showed up fairly early on a Saturday morning the selection was great. I don’t know why they spell their name the way they do, but it’s been around in Btown as long as I can remember. It’s truly a hole in the wall, and a Bloomington classic for sure. And while their staff is reputed to be rude, I walked in on a busy morning and was treated with a smile and great service. I won’t hesitate to get my donuts here whenever I return to Btown to see my family.

The doughnuts are no better than any other brand. I am bothered by a couple of things. One, their store policies are not customer friendly. There is a sign on the door that says you cannot talk on the phone while ordering. Well, my kids sent me there to buy doughnuts and each has their favorites. So instead of taking the order on the phone and just tell the person what I need, I had to get out of the line and wrote everything down and get back in line again. This is an inconvenience. Two, there are a lot of signs that day you cannot drink or eat anything inside the store. This is not a library. It is a fricking doughnut shop. Three, the cashier, I don’t know if he is the owner, looks quite tired and bored with what he is doing. He is blunt and not s smiling or friendly. I asked about the doughnuts he has on the shelf and he got defensive and snappy and he told me they were the same flavor as the one on the shelf in the front, as if I was supposed to know it already and I was not supposed to ask this stupid question. He has some issues and definitely not professional.

Got a half dozen plus some donut holes… Yummy! The cake donuts were good, the fluffier style were nothing special. Pretty average donut shop. Staff was a little on the grumpy side. *I would be too if I stayed up all night making donuts!*

This place is ridiculously cheap! I bought so many donuts that I had donut-coma afterwards. Definitely a MUST if you go to Bloomington. It doesn’t get 5 stars because the attendant got a few things wrong in my order. However, we were 3 people talking back and forth among ourselves and with him, which can be confusing. And the result was yummy anyway. So I call it a win.

I enjoyed their donuts so much, I ate three one morning in thirty minute intervals. A mom and pop’s shop. Classic donuts, miraculously soft, but crunchy. You know what I mean? The triple effect dough combo that makes you wonder how they do it. Probably the only place I’ll ever go to in Bloomington to get donuts. Yum.

Cresent Donut… September 2014 — 3 Stars: been by this just-off-the-road place a number of times and finally stopped. They bill themselves as 24⁄7 donuts but it is not quite that. They make their creations in the morning and sell through the day, but the picking gets limited toward days end. Now for the donuts… We arrived on a weekend morning — undoubtedly prime time. Their specialty seems to be the plain old glazed raised donut and you can see why. Some shops make their glazed raised a bit more doughy, but not Cresent. Theirs is very much like the old Krispy Kreme… very soft and airy and covered in sugar glaze. They were very good and light. The other offerings were ok, but unremarkable. The chocolate cake was nice, as was the blueberry cake. They had maybe a dozen different offerings, but just half-trays or less of each. The glazed raised on the other hand were in stacked trays… far and away their biggest seller. We will be back for more of those glazed raised delights.

I give up, why is it spelled«cresent»? These taste better than the oddly shaped local competition if you ask me. The young lady who put my donuts in a box on my last visit was so hung over… it was truly amazing.
