I dont even know where to begin… DONOTGOHERE!!! At first glance the shop seems like a cute little designer boutique. But it was a huge disappointment!(and thats an understatement) $ 335 spent on a designer bridesmaid dress &2 alterations. They took tight measurements in January for a September wedding(like tugging and pulling the tape at my love handles to sqeeze them in while measuring) and then upon recieving the dress it was so unbearably tight that I told them I could not sit down at all in the dress. Their response? «Just get some Spanx! You’ll be fine!» RUDE!!! But even after I was body shamed and went out and bought spanx the dress still did not fit. I was then told the dress could not be altered because the fabric had been cut but they could«maybe let it out up to ½» The top part of the dress was also an ill fitted, bunched up lace nightmare which I paid for them to «fix» but they did not make it look much better. Needless to say come wedding day the seams began ripping, threads sticking out everywhere, dress was twisting up and around my hips. And all the other bridesmaids had problems with their dress to. When confronted about it they implied it was the designers fault or that we all must have gained weight(which wasnt true). The designer, Jordan Fashions«doesnt deal with customers, only distributors» but was still so concerned by my complaint they asked for me to email them pictures. Ive now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in hopes that potential future customers STAYAWAY.

This was the second and last shop I visited in my bridal dress search. I didn’t really have a clear idea of what I wanted in a dress and Patti was very helpful at pulling styles I thought I would like and also pulling styles that she thought would look good on my body type. Patti helped me put on the gowns as well(I did NOT get help putting on gowns at Bridal Elegance…). I would defiantly recommend Country Lace to any other bride in the future.

I went to three places while shopping for a bridal gown for my wedding and Country Lace Bridal was by far our best experience! We made an appointment with Patty and she was wonderful! She listened to what we liked and my price range and showed us where to look to pick out some dresses. She brought back a couple that she thought would be good for me too, encouraging me to try a couple of different styles. As I tried things on she had a way of adjusting and pinning the dresses that made everything look great! She made me feel like I was beautiful. She was able to answer all the questions that my mom and bridesmaids had. It felt like she was listening to all of us and using what she heard to find the perfect dress for me. She never made me feel rushed even though it was toward the end of the night. I never felt pressured like I did at other stores. In fact I left that night with one dress in mind that I loved and gave it a couple days to think about, then I went back and got it. The only downside was we weren’t allowed to take pictures as I tried things on. I know other places have this same rule, but it is very frustrating when I have bridesmaids who are out of town. Overall though, we loved Country Lace Bridal and Patty!

This was the absolute first place I went when starting my wedding dress shopping. If this was how all bridal shops are like, I’m pretty sure I would be in tears while searching. I wasn’t able to pick out the dresses I wanted to try in. The lady who was working pulled the dresses from the back she thought I wanted. I told her I wanted a Queen Ann style neckline with a ball gown type skirt. She told me no one makes Queen Ann style any longer. I found that to be a total lie. The dress I actually purchased had everything I was looking for including the Queen Ann neckline. In fact I found many dresses with this neckline including 2015 models which had just hit sale room floors a couple weeks ago at another store. She was very insulting to me being a plus size bride and actually told me that with my price point and my size I will have to go to David’s Bridal.(Side note, I did not find my dream dress at David’s Bridal. It was at Bridal Elegance where the staff was AMAZING!!) There was a woman in the store looking for a dress at last minute for a family member’s wedding. The employee actually made a snarky comment about the customer waiting until last minute. It was by far the most inappropriate, unprofessional and uncomfortable experience I have ever had. The only good thing I can say about this store is the location and parking. The inside is very cramped and not conducive to actually looking at the dresses. I grew up in the bridal industry and modeled in many bridal shows. Where this may be the first time I have looked at wedding gowns for myself, I’m not completely green to the industry. I cannot recommend this place to anyone at all. Awful experience that took the fun out of a special time for my mom and myself. Thank goodness for Bridal Elegance for turning this day around after leaving Country Lace!

Horrible service. I called and asked about a dress they said they had it and I told her I would be in in the matter of 30 minutes. I had 3 people drive clear across town for the old woman to tell me that she just sold it and laughed as she grabbed my arm. I asked her how thats possible when I just called and she knew I was coming in why could no one call me. The owners response was«I didnt know». out of the two employees that were in the store I would have thought they could have communicated a little bit better

INCREDIBLE!!! Words cannot describe what a great experience I had with Patty and her staff at Country Lace Bridal! I am a plus size girl who never had a «dream» wedding dress due to my size. I live in Chicago and probably went to about 20 different stores. A majority of the time, they were extremely rude and wanted nothing to do with me. To them I was not the perfect bride! I consider myself a pretty strong, confident, well dressed, outgoing woman. My experience in Chicago/Chicagoland nearly had me in tears every time I attempted to find a dress. What is supposed to be one of the happiest times in your life was turning out to be nothing but misery! I wanted nothing to even do with a wedding dress! Many stores do not carry plus size sample dresses, and if they do, it is usually a size 14. Imagine having to try on a dress that barely goes over your hips, because that is all they have. From the point you are supposed to imagine what it will look like on you after you spend hundreds of dollars because once they order it, it is yours! I grew up on Central IL and on my way to visit my parents one day I decided to stop in the surrounding area and see what they might have. That is when I found Country Lace! From the minute I walked in, they were so welcoming and accommodating! For the first time I felt like a real bride! They even had sample sizes bigger than a 14 for me to try on. I could actually see what I would look like in a wedding dress that zipped!!! After trying on dresses and feeling so much better about my experience, I did not find the«perfect» dress. Patty(the owner) sat down with me and asked what I thought I would like in a dress. After 5 minutes, she pulled out numerous catalogs and went through them with me trying to find the perfect gown for me. At that point I mentioned one to her that I thought I liked, but the sample I had seen was a size 6 and didn’t even begin to fit me. I described it to her and two minutes later she found that exact dress in a catalog! I was so excited!!! She was very honest about what dresses she thought would and would not work for me. we both agreed the dress I had described would be perfect! Patty measured me and we ordered that dress. When the dress arrived it fit like a glove!!! It was perfect!!! I only had to go back for a fitting one time. Completely worth buying a dress three hours a way! The only very minor alteration that needed to be done was in the chest. The total I paid for my dress was cheaper than anything I could find in Chicago! In Chicago, alterations of any kind on a wedding dress with beading usually starts at $ 250. Country Lace doesn’t charge for minor alterations such as hemming etc. I mentioned that I was getting married in Mexico. The staff heavily pressed my dress and packaged it for me to take on the plane. When we arrived in Mexico it looked as if it was freshly pressed! I was amazed! I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this shop. I have no idea what I would have done without them! As cheesy as this review may sound, Country Lace made me feel gorgeous from the time I tried on dresses, to the day I walked down the isle!!! Thank you ladies!!!

I couldn’t have been more pleased with both the service and wedding gown at Country Lace. I searched high and low all the way from the North Chicago suburbs down to Central Illinois for the perfect wedding gown, and came to find it at Country Lace. The staff is great and attentive– they listened to the style and look I wanted, but also showed me some gowns I wouldn’t have necessarily picked out… but proved to be better than I anticipated. The best part isn’t that I found the perfect gown there– it was the attention to detail, friendless, expertise and value for what you pay. Hemming & steaming are free, which is unheard of in Chicago, and at the first fitting, the only alteration that needed to be made was hemming– also unheard of! Despite having to drive 3 hours from Chicago for my fittings, I wouldn’t have wanted to put my business anywhere else. Five stars for sure!
