Much like any other Barnes and Noble as far as selection goes. I find this be a nice, cozy location. There are plenty of comfy chairs around, so grab a book and stay awhile! There’s also a café so you can get a drink or snack if you’re meeting friends. This is also a great spot to bring your laptop and get some work done!

I don’t relish giving a bookstore a poor review. This is the weakest Barnes and Nobel I have shopped at by far. Compare this store to Oakbrook, Il or Bolingbrook or Depaul’s Barnes. This store’s selection is limited. Most of the titles on the sales floor are devoted to Christianity, Religion, Bibles, cook books, self help books and a huge amount of Ronald Reagan biographies. There is also a large section devoted to guns, weapons and munitions. I have nothing against Christianity, but this is supposedly a mass trade general book store. One is hard pressed to find a decent selection of current events or cultural studies non fiction titles. Very limited selection of hard cover books. Missing is a section of local authors and ISU professor’s books. The store is cramped and cluttered with scratch and dent tables making it difficult to navigate. The physical structure is also worn and needs to be refreshed. The carpet is soiled, for instance. Not an inviting place to purchase books. There was one time I visited and I found an Obama book on the shelf with its cover slashed. This is not a book lovers bookstore or intellectually orientated. I miss the B/N Borders.

Barnes and noble is a wonderful book store. It doesn’t only have books it has games cards magazines and a little café. they have a pretty large selection of books including books in Spanish. They carry the latest books making it an updated store. The café has many delicious treat and coffee and drinks. Barnes and noble carries books for all ages ranging from toddler to senior. So this makes it a store all ages can enjoy. Barnes and noble also carries nooks. Nooks are electronical devices that allow you to download apps and reading materials at a fair cost. Nooks price at 100 dollars or more at Barnes and noble

The employee with the medium cut grey, that was mainly in the Nook section. She was RUDE, on a power trip and I will never return to this location. I spent my day at the café, had ordered some starbucks and I had been doing homework in the café. Upon my laptop dying I spent 15 minutes looking for an outlet in the store(there is only one). It was being used so I had no where to go because power was out in most of Bloomington-Normal. I noticed a free outlet in the stand for the Nook display and uncomfortably sat down on the floor plugged into the stand. After she walked by multiple times and 15 minutes went by she came up to me and told me it was against store policy to use that outlet. I highly doubt Barnes and Noble has any written policy about where patrons can plug in laptops. I explained to her I just need to use it for an hour and she flat out said no this is for the Nooks. She said, «we need these outlets for the Nooks» There were 2 other free spaces in this outlet and she did not use any of them. Instead of being a friend, when she had to have know power was out because of the terrible storms that morning she went on an unnecessary power trip. She gave me a spiel about how Barnes and Noble is a book store NOT a «computer store.» Which is absolute crap as they have a huge sign in the window saying«FREEWIFI» She unplugged my laptop and handed me the plug. That is what set me off. She didn’t even give me the opportunity to unplug it myself. You under no circumstance touch my property without my permission. I don’t know the woman’s name but she is a horribly wretched person. I would avoid purchasing a Nook from her.

BN has friendly employees, and enough books in stock that I can usually find something to buy. I do wish they had more seating in the coffee shop and more soft chairs in the book area. X-mas time, they have far too many toys and board games. I understand these are big sellers, so corporate sends them. There’s a Toys-R-Us in the same parking lot though.

The customer service was very friendly here. Overall, this is a nice Barnes & Noble. Gotta love the Starbucks inside :)

As far as huge bookstores go, this one is great. I also love how quiet it always is in the store. Such a fun place to explore. The coffee is good, too.

There are no freakin’ outlets! Go ahead, search the store like I did walking around the edges, by tables, chairs and poles. You will find one. It is in the oddest place. I’m not going to tell you where because its quite useless and I figure I might as well let you have the joy that comes from self discovery. Magazine selection is superb, Starbucks on site is good but the baristas are not held to the same standard as stand alone stores. Book selection also good. But I no longer go to bookstores for the joy of buying books… that’s what my Kindle and Amazon are for. I need a place where I can mooch off of the big corporation by reading magazines and books for free while imbibing an over priced cup of caffeine and typing notes from those mooched books on my laptop. But alas, I can’t plug the darn thing in anywhere. I miss Borders :-(

Huge selection, quiet store, good coffee. I always end up spending hours on the floor reading entire books before buying them. Great place alone, with friends or family, or even on weekend dates. Open until 11pm, so serves as a nice night cap.
