I stayed at The Biggest Loser Resort in Bloomingdale, Illinois for a month and I must say that it was an amazing experience. I just checked out this morning. I had gone through some deaths in my family and had gained a lot of weight because of depression and letting myself go. When I arrived at the resort I was greeted with smiles and a very positive attitude. I was afraid of what awaited me but the Biggest Loser staff made me feel at ease and told me that I had made a very important decision towards bettering myself. The training staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and went out of their way to make me and the other participants believe in ourselves and in our ability to do almost anything. I arrived at the resort weighing 405 lbs and after just one month I now weigh 362 lbs. Andra and her training staff are top notch and each and every one of them truly care about the participants and are extremely understanding and helpful if someone needs to modify an exercise do to an injury. I personally want to thank Andra and Sue and Alti and Matt for helping me realize that I can do just about anything. Jen the Dietitian was the absolute best and was always making sure that we were well fed with excellent food prepared with top quality and natural ingredients. Because of my results and the incredible staff at The Biggest Loser Resort Chicago I will be returning next week for another month. I also want to add how helpful Jerry and Estella were. They would stop by a a few times during the week and along with doing workouts with us were always giving us good advice and helped me to believe in myself. The Biggest Loser Resort in Bloomingdale has changed my life and I will always be very thankful to everyone there. As we say in Italy«Grazie per tutto» = Thanks for everything.

I attended the same grand opening as Lisa and have to say I was a little disappointed since the Grand Opening wasn’t exactly was I expected. But I still took advantage of the entire opportunity to learn how it could help me. Then I took it a step further when I was able to spend an entire week here in October. Let me tell you… if you can do this… do it!!! The staff is amazing and honestly caring. Everything they say about wanting to help you and be there for you is true!!! I went there with a bad knee and very nervous after working with a bad personal trainer at LA Fitness. But this place not only restored my faith in personal trainers, but restored my faith in myself. They looked out for me and noticed I had bad form before I even knew it. Gave me modifications that allowed me to push myself still. I left behind 8.4 lbs(5.5lb of body fat) and walked away with a great motivation and actual enjoyment of exercising. I still have a way to go, but they helped me break through so many barriers and fears I had within me that I look forward to trying so many new things I never dreamed at age of 48, I could even do. And mind you, they helped everyone of all ages and fitness levels. Plus, add in all the classes and learning about great health food and how to eat more balanced, I’m down 20lbs now after only 2 months. I don’t feel hungry or deprived. Just healthy and energized. So yes… I 500% recommended that anyone who can afford this — do it!!! You will not regret it.

I usually give 5 stars for events that have felt great, tasted fabulous, or made me smile. BLR gets 5 starts for none of that because it was the most challenging week of my life. I was pushed to my personal edge and when I felt like I was going to fall over, Stella reached out and pulled me back. It was the hardest week ever and I mean ever. I came home to a personal shit storm and the week at BLR made the storm seem like a sprinkle. I knew I was stronger, and I could take on my world. BLR gave me more than the tools to eat right and exercise right. More than the tools to be in charge of my progress. BLR showed me I am way stronger than I ever knew I was. That is worth all the tough work outs, burpees(I’m not so sure of that one), rows, spins, punches, crunches, planks, etc. I walked away stronger — physically and emotionally.

It was a fantastic experience. I did one week in October ’14. even though it was starting to get chilly, they got us outside into the fresh air multiple times each day. Although there was rarely downtime in the program, I felt like I had enough energy for the next class. others told me to not think about it as one long day/week of exercise, but instead take it one class at a time. That advice worked for me. Even though I could have done the in-town program, I really liked staying at the resort. It was a wonderful space. The education seminars held for first timers were very helpful and I liked that if you were a repeat guest and wanted to take a seminar again, you were able to. The trainers are amazing and they always gave you that extra motivation to work a little harder. I look forward to my next stay!

This rating is based on the Biggest Loser Grand Opening event I attended yesterday at the Hilton Indian Lakes Resort & Spa in Bloomington, Ill. A friend who watches the show sent me the email of the event and I thought I would check it out. The people who put on this event were very unorganized and I would never attend another event by them again. I give kudos to the staff on hand who were trying to make it work, but honestly it wasn’t their fault. The blond woman(I won’t name names here) was not very informative. She introduced the 20 staff members now on staff for this program at the hotel, but gave out NO information about the program itself. This was a huge miss of a great marketing opportunity. They didn’t follow the original agenda that was sent out and it just seemed like they were shooting from the hip — poorly. The big draw became obvious when they introduced Dolvett Quince — which if he was the inspirational speaker, he left his A game at home yesterday. There was one camera rolling, but obviously this wasn’t enough for him either. He was nice and stayed for pictures with those who wanted one with him. While it was nice, that doesn’t mean you are a good inspirational speaker, or he was resting on his celebrity status and resting on his laurels… Regarding the Hilton Indian Lakes Resort & Spa in Bloomington, Ill., about 28 miles from downtown Chicago, is a nice, older resort. The grounds, golf course, swimming pools(indoor & outdoor) and spa appeared very nice and I would consider a «stay cation» to get away for a day here away from the city. The Blond woman didn’t say anything about the property, so I’m not even sure they have the classes here to be honest. The relationship between Biggest Loser and the hotel may not be that great, or at least she didn’t really talk it up. We had so many breaks with nothing to do that I took my own tour and visit the spa, pools, and golf course — very nice and I will definitely consider another trip out to visit the resort amenities.
