Passing through on our way to MN, saw the reviews and decided to try it. GREAT choice. Had the corn chowder and patty melt. Husband had the The Chub, the food was excellent and portions are large. Great value for your money.

I was on my way back to Texas and stopped here to see my cousins in Bloomfield and they brought me here. This was some of the best food I’ve had in Iowa, particularly the Misfit which is a hamburger with bacon and peanut butter on it. The Reuven sandwich and the tenderloin were also excellent. This burger was better than the one in Keosauqua which was supposedly one of the top ten burgers in Iowa. This has to be one the top ten here at South Fork.

Don’t expect much. I had a small, very salty bowl of beef vegetable soup with tiny pieces of beef. Spouse had a runny tuna salad sandwich. The daily special was goulash and was substantial in serving, but didn’t order.

Great place to stay. Reasonable clean and on a –12 degree night, it was very warm!!! The rooms are surprising nice. The room I was in looked recently updated. I’d stay here again.

Excellent food. Service prompt and friendly. We had a tenderloin and hamburger. Fries were fresh.
